Aria's POV
I shot a glare at Regan, my childhood friend, who was sitting comfortably in my living room. We grew up together, and he had always been a supportive friend. When he left the city with his parents years ago, it felt like I had lost my closest companion. But now he was back, and despite the time apart, it felt like nothing had changed between us—except he'd become even more annoying.
I missed him a lot, but right now, his teasing was getting on my nerves.
I told him everything that had happened. From being rejected by Beta Colin to being accepted by King Magnus, my fated mate, and now, this annoying human being was sitting here asking me if I was using my own mate.
"Me? Using him? Of course not!" I snapped at him, frustration evident in my voice. "Why would you even ask such a thing?"
