I wanted to write a novel for a long time and now I am finnally doing it, the chapters you read will be manuscripts for the very novel. So, many things will *not* make it to the final novel and will not be very perfect.

Chapter 1 - The Fragments

" I killed the traitor, the price of betray was her life." I said with a laugh, blood dripping of my head. "You're next, Inquisitor..." I screamed as I pointed my weapon towards him.

Back to present

It was nearing midnight as I lay lifeless on my bed, it was pouring rain. My lifeless body was trying to admire the rain and get some sleep. Something suddenly struck me, I saw a huge flash outside the window, but I didn't have the energy to check.

I felt a shiver run down my spine, I suddenly found myself somewhere I didn't find familiar. It was like… like a space station. I saw someone, someone who looked like an astronaut, their face was completely hidden.

Then he or she started to take off their helmet, it was a woman, she…. She look- looked just like Lily. She had the exact same blond hair and blue eyes, I couldn't believe my eyes.

Maybe I really was dreaming after all, she has been dead for over a year now. I was still quite confused, how could I suddenly be dreaming and be fully conscious at the same time and that too when my last memory was being wide awake.

I felt myself being there, not just mentally but even physically but at the same time I wasn't. Then it hit me, I found myself behind an invisible wall, now I was very sure that I was present there physically. The wall was like a one way glass pane, I could clearly see the space station while she didn't have any idea that I was present there.

The space station looked mesmerising, it wasn't anything like the ones I had seen on my missions. It had absolutely no wires visible unlike the ones I had seen. I spotted a few plants lined up in front of the beautiful windows, which were purple in colour, somehow. The windows were leading to a breathtaking scenery of a galaxy.

The sight of a whole galaxy concerned me, I was in interstellar space; a feat humanity has yet to achieve and yet again I was somehow present here.

I saw someone enter, another astronaut, although I couldn't recognise his face he felt oddly familiar… Maybe it was just deja-vu? The female astronaut said, "He will be here quite soon.". "How did you do that with the speed of light?" Replied the male astronaut.

I saw her whisper something to him, but I couldn't make out the words. "So, you… you really dropped the book?" He replied as if in shock. The female astronaut gave a smirk.

"The lost prodigy, Miles Walker shall be present here in no more than three months" He shouted. So the 'he' they were talking about was me? How was I 'The Lost Prodigy?' they were talking about.

Suddenly, I felt like I was flying, flying somewhere far away. I saw a planet that looked quite similar to the earth but definitely wasn't it. I saw many more planets which looked quite similar, I saw maybe hundreds or even thousands of planets in the span of what felt no more than ten or fifteen seconds.

My spine gave yet another shiver and… and I was back once again, back once again to my bed; I tried to look up at my clock but I couldn't, I had no energy to move. I managed to get a glimpse, it was six am, which meant for six whole hours, I wasn't on earth.

It felt like I had somekind of a relation with the people I saw, afterall they even knew my name, and gave me some kind of title. 'The Lost Prodigy'. Everything went black, fortunately this time I had just fallen asleep.

I woke up to my alarm ringing around maybe 2 hours later. I knew what had just happened was not a dream, it was too realistic to be one. I spotted a mark on my arm, it was a few lines going in rather zig-zag patterns, silver in colour, it had some blue marks on it.

I couldn't recall it ever being there, maybe whatever lost prodigy thing they were talking about was the cause for it?

I heard someone knock at my door, I was barely able to muster up enough energy to answer, it was a letter from NASA. I opened it and started to read.

Mr. Miles Blake,

We're delighted to infirm you that you have passed the astronaut selection program, and henceforth have been selected to participate in the first moon mission of the century, Other candidates included, Mr David Parker, Ms. Amelia Walker and Ms. Ava Moras. Our training programs will start today itself and the team will be on the moon next month.

We wish you the very best.

Matthew Dolla

NASA High Inquisitor

I was now supposed to go to the moon next month, but maybe this will be the perfect oppurtunity for me to get a chance to leave the Earth and find what they called, 'The Book'. The very thing which may help me find out everything about what they were talking about.

I put on my uniform and rushed to the headquarters, it took me the better part of an hour to reach due to the insanely high amounts of traffic.

I saw the high inquistor standing at the door, most likely waiting for me. "Oh, hello Miles, I was waiting for you; lots of traffic eh?" He said quickly rushing me inside.

He took me to a round shaped building and asked me to take a seat in one of the rooms, the others were already settled in.

He began, "As of today the four of you are selected to go to the Moon as you know it, you're the people who will go to the moon for the first time in the century."

"The spacecraft, Galaxy-S01 is to be piloted by Mr. Miles Blake and co-piloted by Ms. Amelia Walker, and if you may follow me to the training grounds"

One Month Later

It took the better part of a month to complete the whole training program of which I mainly wasn't a part of due to the fact that I have been on quite a few missions, as the pilot. We are set to leave soon…
