Chapter 2 - The Book

"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5" Today was the day I was going to get a step closer to the answers I seek, the countdown was ticking down. "4, 3, 2 and 1" The rocket launched, thankfully without any issues.

It was way faster than any I have seen, it didn't even take five minutes for us to enter the exosphere. This was amazing.

I wasted no time getting into position, now that it was time to attach the rocket to the main station. "Lander probe approaching, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1" I said softly. I flawlessly attached the probe and lander, all that was left now is to wait.

Or that was what I thought until an alarm started to ring, it was the main computer. It started to malfunction and shut down, luckily it wasn't going to be that big of a deal since we were just prepared for something like this. I used my S-O015 (It was something newly invented which was supposed to help them contact earth from anywhere in case of emergency ) to send a signal back to earth.

"Miles Blake speaking, do you copy?" I said. "We can hear you, is there a problem?" A rather choppy voice replied. "I believe the main computer has malfunctioned and shut down." I continued.

"Can you make sures that the other two computers are working properly?" The voice enquired. I took a few steps back and tried to turn on both computers.

"Looks like a rather amazing start to the first manned mission in ages." I heard David speak sarcastically with a laugh in the background.

"They're working properly." I replied to the voice. "Well then you should be mostly fine, either way we shall try to revive the main computer." He replied. "Alright then" I said, turning off the signal.

A few rather boring hours later, we were now completing our last orbit around the earth for the orbital slingshot and about three days away from the moon.

In the meantime we were supposed to be apparently manually setting up the rovers, and providing maintenance to the ship. "Miles and David!' Summoned Ava. "The two of you will go do the maintenance work outside, and Amelia and I will do the other work." She exclaimed without waiting for a response.

I felt it was rather useless to argue even though I was appointed the captain for the mission, the others followed.

After some work in the span of what felt like hours, my body went completely soar and fell asleep the moment I tried lying down.

The next three days were quite similar and today was the very day we will set foot on the moon.

We were around fifteen minutes away from going into the moon's atmosphere. I gradually controlled the speed of the spacecraft until we finally set into orbit.

"Lander one detaching in 3, 2, 1." Said Walker when the first lander detached with her and Moras in it . "Lander two detaching in 3, 2, 1." I followed along with David. We were soring through the non-existent atmosphere. I gradually lowered the speed as we got closer to the ground.

Both Walker and I achieved a perfect soft landing on the rather tough surface of the moon.

I made sure that the oxygen tank had a sufficient amount of oxygen in it before opening the lander's door and stepping down.

I stretched a little and wasted no time on getting started on the base. I saw my radio signal beep, it was probably a signal from earth. I tried to contact them back and shortly was answered by a familiar voice of the high inquisitor.

"Matthew Dolla speaking, do you copy?" He said, followed by all of us saying yes at the same time. "Congratulations on becoming the first people in the century to set foot on the moon." He said.

"Now our mission for human exploration of the moon starts. Captain Blake you're to study the ice present in the craters present on the western side of the base." He continued assigning each four of us places to study.

After the base was completed, I set out towards the location of the nearest craters provided. "It really is full of ice!" I exclaimed upon spotting a huge crater filled with ice.

But then I spotted something buried in the ice, I couldn't understand what it was. I tried to dig the ice until I was able to make out what it was.

It…. It was an ancient looking book, with an emerald green cover. That was it, the very thing I would need to uncover possibly everything about my life.

The book started to glow followed by the ice slowly shattering. The book started to float and rise up, it was like the book really was coming to me.

The book started to flip pages in the air, the text was hand written but clearly not something I could understand.

Yxalag Ciluidem Eht

The words were now changing slowly and becoming readable.

The Medulic Galaxy

The medulic galaxy is a spiral galaxy with over a billion stars. It consists of two million civilisesd planets.

The book was now glowing more than it did before, but suddenly it fell to the ground and stopped glowing. Before I realised it, I was floating over twenty feet in the air. I started to spin in circles, it felt like I was being transported somewhere.

With a shiver running down my spine, I was back… I was back at the same place I saw a month ago… But this time I wasn't looking at it from somewhere I am here.

"He's here." I heard a voice speak behind me.
