Chapter 65
When he came to his senses, he was in a graveyard. Strangely enough, it was spacious. In fact, he seemed to be at the center of a clearing, as no graves were visible except for those far in the distance. Gray, who didn't seem surprised, placed the cup down as he waited. Quickly growing bored, he yelled, "Oh, come on, I'm waiting! You're not making me nervous, just annoyed." In response.
rows of Ironbound Initiates appeared from the mist, ten rows of ten each, all surrounding him. Clad in lightweight chainmail reinforced with runic markings and armed with plain steel weapons, Behind them stood dark wizards, including a pale, noseless wizard, a fat wizard resembling a rat, and Mad-Eye Moody, who shrank into a younger man. Gray finally noticed Harry being held by a skeletal angel statue, unconsciouness, and leading the forces was a familiar man flanked by four others.
The four figures wore dark plate armor etched with glowing runes and wielded enchanted weapons. Known as Battleforged Knights, of course not to gray. Alongside them stood dark-cloaked figures in red robes, led by Sebastian, a mage with the ability to control blood. However, what truly drew Gray's attention was a mysterious figure clad in jet-black angular armor reinforced with dragonhide.
This man's weapon crackled with elemental energy, and his helmet's glowing visor resembled predatory eyes. Gray glanced at Harry and Mad-Eye Moody, chuckling as he said, "No wonder you smelled like Polyjuice Potion. I just thought you were balding and trying to keep your hair." One of the Battleforged Knights stepped forward, addressing Gray. "I have to say, kid, you're something. For HQ to send this many forces and allies..." Another knight, a woman by her voice, interrupted, "Although this feels like overkill, HQ was very adamant we capture you. So, are you going to come quietly, or will you fight?" as another continued, "you can choice the easy or the hard way, the choice is yours" in a black man voice.
Gray smirked. "First of all, I don't like how you said that; you're creeping me out," he replied calmly, despite being surrounded by numerous enemies. One of the knights chuckled, and Gray continued, "Secondly, are you all quintuplets?" The noseless wizard, clearly irritated, yelled, "He's a fourth-year student! Why are we wasting time? Kill him!" The first knight shot back, "Shut your noseless lizard mouth, he who should not be named my ass, bitch your name is voldemort. The only reason we're working with the likes of you is because of orders from HQ. Otherwise, I'd gut you like a fish." Sebastian interjected, "Gentlemen, please, we're all mages despite what some of us may wear or wield." This provoked one knight to retort, "Are you calling us meatheads?" The female knight added, "Unlike those sword-fuckers fools of the Round Table, we use both magic and might. We are Merlin's hands, after all." Gray, tired of the exchange, spoke decisively, "Alright, let's end this."
Withdrawing Rachel, Gray instructed her, "Get Harry out of here. I'll handle the rest." He drank a new potion that allowed him to resist all curses, not just the three Unforgivable ones. Rachel transformed into a mass of darkness, waiting for Gray's signal. That signal came when Gray's hand exuded an unimaginable cold, prompting the first knight to command, "Shields at the ready!" Everyone obeyed, the Ironbound Initiates conjuring a massive conjoined magical shield, while the knights and Sebastian's followers raised individual protections. Harry's captors used Wizarding World-style shields. Despite their preparations, Gray conjured a humongous ice lion sculpture roaring to the sky, encasing everything and everyone in ice. Though their shields protected them from immediate harm, that wasn't Gray's goal. Smiling, he whispered, "Kaboom," filling the lion with star energy.
The ice sculpture cracked like a serpent. The first to react was the mysterious figure in black armor. Though initially frozen, he seemed unbothered and conjured a shield as the sculpture exploded. The devastation was catastrophic. The blast obliterated most of the Ironbound Initiates, reducing them to ash, and wiped out many of Sebastian's followers. The sheer force shattered the earth, sending debris flying like missiles, and an intense wave of cold swept across the graveyard, freezing and fracturing the ground.
As the ice settled, most of the enemies were dead. The surviving Battleforged Knights looked at Gray with grim expressions. The noseless wizard and his two followers, shocked and terrified, barely survived. Amidst the chaos, a mass of darkness whisked Harry away. The most surprising reaction, however, came from the mysterious stranger, who laughed. "This... This is great! I can finally stretch my hands," he said, looking at Gray, who remained calm and unshaken.
When the mysterious stranger spoke, his tone was laced with disdain. "From what I heard, you got your ass handed to you by some low-level Ironbound Initiates not too long ago," he said, sneering. Gray groaned in irritation, rolling his eyes. "Oh, for fuck's sake, do something useful—like those bloody bastards over there," he retorted, pointing at Sebastian's cultists, who were chanting in a demonic language. The stranger chuckled darkly, replying, "Alright, but we don't do one-on-one fair fights. We do jumping." At that moment, the remaining Ironbound Initiates summoned a combined attack, merging a massive ice shard, lightning bolt, firebolt, and earth needle into a swirling, destructive multi-elemental strike that hurled toward Gray.
Gray didn't even flinch. With a simple, almost dismissive wave of his hand, the enormous attack shifted mid-air, its trajectory veering straight toward Voldemort and his followers. The Dark Lord and his minions, caught off guard, hastily conjured shields to defend themselves. "You dare redirect that to us!" Voldemort hissed angrily. The tension thickened as the Ironbound Initiates, alongside Voldemort and his followers, unleashed a coordinated barrage of Avada Kedavra curses, their green streaks of death magic lighting up the graveyard. Gray stood still, unmoving, his expression calm. He didn't raise a wand, chant a spell, or even conjure a shield; he simply let the spells strike him head-on.
As the dust and debris settled, laughter erupted from the Ironbound Initiates and Voldemort's group. "What a fool!" Wormtail cackled. "He thought he could survive the Killing Curse!" Barty Crouch Jr. sneered, "He's nothing but an overconfident child." But their mirth quickly turned to horror when Gray stepped forward, unharmed and radiating a cold, unyielding aura. His calm eyes bore into them as he said, "Is that it? I was hoping for more." With a flick of his wrist, Gray sent an arc of magic slicing through the ranks of the Ironbound Initiates, freezing several in place before shattering them into shards of ice.
