Chapter 42 - Becoming Famous In the wizarding world and lycanthropy potions(chapter 42)

Chapter 42

"Oh, it's fresh," Hermione said as she opened it, quickly closing it again. "It was made just now, right? What ingredients did you use?" she asked. Gray replied, "That's a secret. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to study this, as we agreed, just after breaking up that stupid couple, hey no love in hogwart" gray yelled the last part before leaving.

Harry then looked at Hermione and asked, "Was it worth it?" Hermione looked at him as if he were an idiot. "Do you know how great this potion is? One drop—one drop—is all you need to get your ideal make, and I have this much," she said, shoving the test tube filled with potion in his face.

Harry moved the test tube out of his way, looking at her obsessed expression. "Yeah, whatever. I'm going to go and see Professor Lupin if you don't mind," he said before leaving.

-scene change-

Late in May, Diagon Alley was bustling, but there was one sight that particularly captured the attention of the passersby. Nestled on a prominent wall, a large, moving advertisement showed a shimmering pink potion labelled Envisage Glamour Elixir. Next to the elixir's glowing image was an animated picture of a young man, Gray Knight, his handsome face graced with a charming, almost mischievous smile. As his picture flashed a bright smile, he gave a slight nod, his eyes glinting with a knowing look that sent a ripple of excitement through anyone who passed by. Many who noticed the ad couldn't help but pause, a warm smile creeping up on their faces, especially the young witches whose cheeks flushed as they admired Gray's charming expression.

"Who is he?" a witch whispered to her friend, her gaze lingering on the animated poster.

"That's Gray Knight! Haven't you heard? He's the one who created the Envisage Glamour Elixir," her friend replied, her eyes wide with admiration. "They're calling him a potioneering prodigy!"

A banner beneath the moving images read, "Achieve your ideal look with a single drop! For confidence, for allure – Envisage Glamour Elixir!" The potion was advertised as simple to use and completely safe. From the young to the old, witches stopped and whispered in awe, their curiosity piqued and desires ignited.

Meanwhile, inside one of the most popular potion shops in Diagon Alley, Cauldron's Charm, a long line of witches and even a few wizards formed at the counter, each eagerly awaiting their turn to purchase Gray's elixir. Bottles of the potion glowed on the shelves, their pink liquid shifting with a pearlescent gleam. The shopkeeper, a cheery witch named Madam Elspeth, was doing her best to keep up with the demand.

"Oh, thank goodness I still have a few left!" Madam Elspeth said, holding up a bottle with an approving look. She placed it into the eager hands of a young witch who clutched it as if it were treasure. "Enjoy, my dear. A single drop will last you an hour of flawless glamour."

The young witch's eyes sparkled as she held up the bottle. "I've never seen anything like it! I'll look perfect for the Midsummer Ball!"

A gentleman next to her grinned. "All the ladies are after it, eh? Heard Gray Knight himself made this elixir," he added with a chuckle, causing several others in the line to nod in agreement.

Madam Elspeth smiled knowingly. "Oh yes, this potion is going faster than anything I've ever stocked. And for good reason, too! No side effects, no risks… and all thanks to young Gray Knight. A true genius, that one."

The potion was selling out in every magical shop in Diagon Alley, and with each bottle sold, Gray's bank account saw a small but steady royalty. He had crafted the recipe to be both effective and affordable, ensuring it could be enjoyed by nearly everyone. The best part? Though he had shared the recipe with various shops, the original formula remained a secret known only to him, fine-tuned by his unique potion system. This exclusive blend, was different from what Hogwarts students and teachers enjoyed, cemented his position as a potioneering prodigy.

Back in his magically expanded suitcase, Gray stood in his newly upgraded storage room, looking around with a satisfied grin. The suitcase now contained a library, a separate room, a workshop, and plenty of storage space. Holding a bottle of strange potion in his hand, he chuckled to himself, "Now this is what I'm talking about," he thought, admiring the shimmering liquid in the vial, which had its own status panel, of course it did.

[ Name: Lycanthral Elixir ]

[ Grade: High ]

[ Description: The Lycanthral Elixir is a high-grade potion crafted with advanced level 7 potion-making skill, designed to allow an Animagus to attain a hybrid form of their animal transformation. The consumer retains the strength, heightened senses, and reflexes of their Animagus form, while gaining a humanoid structure with full vocal ability. The primary ingredient, Werewolf Blood, imparts the necessary lycanthropic traits, while Enhanced Animagus Lion Blood provides a baseline of strength and agility. Additional plant-based ingredients include Deadman's Root (for stability during transformation), Silverthorn Berries (to temper aggression), Gravenwood Sap (for reinforcing mental clarity), and Thornapple Essence (to enable seamless shifting between human and hybrid forms). Due to the potency of the elixir, each transformation may trigger severe physical strain, resulting in temporary weakness or nausea upon reverting to a fully human state. Not permanent ]

[ Deterioration-Rate: 100%, the freshness of the potions ]

That's right, Gray had achieved what he wanted since his fight with Lupin: to become a werelion with the ability to speak in his hybrid form. "With this, I can fight much more humanly and speak, but I just have to make it permanent," he thought to himself as he carefully distributed the potion into small test tubes. He wore one on a band around his wrist before exiting his suitcase, but not before ensuring his clothes were neat and tidy. After all, as the face of a beauty product, he couldn't afford to look anything less than immaculate. He also consumed an Oracle Vigil Potion, just in case there was another assassination attempt.

A/N: Like I said, the duration isn't as long as the one he makes, and with the recipe he sold to others, they would never be able to make it last longer than his. So yeah, Gray is now considered rich—unless he blows it all on an ingredient, which is likely to happen.

P.S.: Don't play Albion Online. It's addictive. I have a total playtime of three days, and I've been playing for the past week, which is why I'm starting to run out of stock chapters for this fanfic.
