Chapter 45 - Cult of blood and trigon(chapter 45)

A/N: I know the Rachel we all know and love is a woman of few words, but the one in my story is going to be different. Don't worry, she's still a goth mommy with thick thighs; she'll just act differently when she's with Gray. I'll make sure that even the Teen Titans, who were close to her, didn't know she could laugh, joke, tease, and even flirt with someone. She's still goth and will only say a few words to others, except for Gray. And yes, she's an obsessed yandere, in case that wasn't clear from how she reacted when Gray looks at girls or even ingredients (this one you can blame on Gray since he looks at ingredients like I look at Amazonian women), even in her raven form.

Chapter 45

Sebastian looked up at the darkened sky and said, "Oh, Rachel, Rachel, you really have recovered if you're willing to use this much magic." A swarm of darkness flew toward him like a torrent of the sea, its sheer magnitude creating an oppressive atmosphere. Rachel remained silent, her expression filled with intensity as the darkness she commanded swirled and raged like a living storm.

In a fraction of a second, before Sebastian could react, all the figures wearing red robes, aside from Sebastian himself, suddenly went mad. They began to attack each other in a frenzied state, some even turning on Sebastian. However, their assault on him proved futile as their blood solidified and protruded out of their bodies grotesquely. Sebastian smirked and muttered, "Oh, Rachel, Rachel. You know, being the daughter of the all-powerful Trigon, you really rely on petty tricks." This elicited a visible reaction from Rachel. Another pair of eyes appeared beneath her original ones, all four glowing a vivid red. Slowly, she began to float upward, and the darkness surrounding her morphed into the towering figure of a four-eyed raven. The sight made Sebastian chuckle darkly as he remarked, "Well, now you look more like your father." With those words, he released a massive blast of eldritch energy aimed directly at her. Rachel simply flicked her wrist, effortlessly redirecting the energy blast to the side.

"Guess that ritual did nothing else aside from turning you into a cane, huh?" Sebastian spat, his voice dripping with mockery. He began extracting the blood of his subordinates, many of whom were still under Rachel's influence, their minds clouded by her dark magic. The blood rose from their bodies in thin streams, collecting into a shimmering red pool. Smiling sinisterly, he continued, "But I am not here to fight you, Rachel. I'm just here to arrange a meeting." Rachel's expression shifted as realization dawned. He wasn't there for a battle—he was buying time. Her eyes narrowed as she glanced at the growing pool of blood, which had begun forming a massive magical circle around her. The runes glowed ominously, and the air grew thick with power. "What would he say now?" Rachel murmured to herself before muttering under her breath, "That's right… fuck." The ritual was nearly complete, and in the next instant, the blood within the circle surged upward, forming into a colossal figure.

The being that materialized had red skin, long white hair, and massive horns curling out from its head. Its demonic voice echoed through the area, shaking the ground as it spoke, "Hello, daughter." However, before Trigon could finish his words, a massive swarm of darkness enveloped Rachel. She stood protectively over Gray, who remained unconscious on the ground, when suddenly, beside rachel, reality splinted as a rift appeared, which caught everyone on guard as they all looked at each other, before rachel sported a smirk, she declared, "Yeah, no. Bye," and disappeared, teleporting into the rift just as one of Trigon's massive fists slammed into the ground where she had been standing. The impact sent debris flying in all directions, and when the dust finally settled, Rachel was nowhere to be seen. Trigon's crimson eyes scanned the area as his lips curled into a displeased snarl. "You thought my spawn would be entrapped by such an obvious trap?" His booming voice radiated disappointment as he turned his gaze toward Sebastian.

Sebastian immediately fell to his knees, his head bowed low in submission. "I deserve death for my failure, my lord. But… your daughter has taken it upon herself to care for a mere mortal." His trembling voice barely managed to convey his fear and regret. Trigon paused, his expression shifting from rage to intrigue. He hummed thoughtfully, the sound reverberating through the air like an ominous drumbeat. "A mortal, you say?" His lips curled into a sinister grin as he contemplated this new information. "Find that mortal. And this time… do not fail me," he commanded, his tone laced with deadly finality.

As his towering form began to dissipate into the ether, his parting words echoed like a haunting melody. Sebastian remained kneeling, his body trembling with both terror and determination. The others, those who had survived Rachel's influence and Trigon's arrival, dared not move. They simply awaited Sebastian's next command, their loyalty sealed by fear and the promise of death should they fail again. Once Trigon had vanished entirely, Sebastian rose, his expression hardening as he muttered, "This time, she won't escape."

-scene change-

In a random alleyway within a different reality that was gloomy and grimy, a mass of darkness materialized, swirling ominously before vanishing in a silent, inky cloud. From its depths, Gray appeared, his form slumped yet breathing steadily, his body covered in blood—though his chest rose and fell in a sign of stable life. Standing watchfully over him was Rachel, her figure striking and gothic as the dim light from above barely touched her, giving her an ethereal, shadowed appearance.

Rachel Roth, the beautiful and mysterious Raven, possessed a haunting elegance that seemed to resonate with the dark surroundings. Her long, raven-black hair cascaded down her shoulders, framing her face in loose, silken waves. Her skin was ashen and pale, almost porcelain-like, with an ethereal glow that contrasted starkly against her deep, dark purple cloak. Her eyes, normally a piercing violet, now held a softness as she gazed down at Gray, a look that showed both strength and vulnerability. She wore the signature dark attire that accentuated her gothic beauty, a striking crimson gem embedded in the center of her forehead, adding an unearthly allure to her appearance.

Gray lay at her feet, his form equally captivating even in his wounded state. His face, framed by short, jet-black hair, displayed a quiet resilience. Blood streaked his skin, mingling with sweat and grime from recent battles, yet beneath it all, his sharp features held an undeniable handsomeness. His jawline was strong, and his closed eyes were framed by dark lashes that gave him a calm and almost serene appearance despite his injuries. The contrast between his battered appearance and his natural handsomeness only added to the aura of mystery that surrounded him.

Together, they were a striking sight—a pair that seemed to embody beauty, strength, and the essence of darkness. Rachel, with her gothic grace, and Gray, with his rugged allure, appeared as if they belonged to the shadows that surrounded them. They were as captivating as they were enigmatic, both wounded and resilient, their contrasting darkness harmonizing in the grim setting of the alleyway.

As Rachel continued to watch over Gray, her expression softened further, showing a hint of concern mingled with her usual stoic demeanor. She allowed herself a brief, almost imperceptible smile before she realized something. "Agh, how long have you been awake?" she asked, prompting Gray to open his eyes as he looked at her. "Well, when you said they were taking all of my ingredients," he replied, which made Rachel facepalm as she said, "Of course, I knew that would work." She looked at Gray, who was smiling slightly. "I am an empath, so pipe down, kid. Plus, I am older than you," she added, taking Gray aback for a moment before he chuckled. The sound weirded Rachel out as she leaned closer and asked, "Okay, why don't you have a billion questions?" Gray got up and dusted himself off.

"Well, I got all I need to… know," he groaned, prompting Rachel to ask again, "What do know?" Sighing, Gray replied, "I know your name is Rachel Roth, daughter of a powerful demon. I know that you are being pursued by a cult that worships your father, and they are the reason why you're a cane or wand." He checked his body while Rachel reeled back, floating as she pondered. After a moment, she asked, "And you have no questions?" Gray, still examining himself, replied, "I do have one question—were you aware the whole time?" At that, any trace of smirking or friendliness vanished from both of them. Rachel, having been with Gray since the end of his first year, knew what that meant, and as an empath, she felt it keenly.

A/N i am also trying to say that when gray is series, he can be scary, but i don't know if that came off as corny(kids these days, everything is corny or cringe)
