Mina was bored to death. She hated weekends. She had covered the entire island, there was nothing to do. She wanted to run back to the main land, meet her friends and bitch about her miserable life.
Wait, why not? She called her cronies for a coffee at Brinstone, the grandest five star hotel in Marina Capitol. As expected, they were eager to catch up with her.
They were a loyal bunch of air headed idiots who turned up whenever she called them.
But then, she paid them back as well. Her father owned the school she worked in. He was a big name in the education circle.
She had got her friends position in one of the schools her father owned, to pay back for their loyalty.
She was sipping her cup of coffee, and vividly explaining her pitiable position when she saw something that shut her up in an instant.
Talk of the devil! He was peering at her.
She could not believe her eyes. What was that red haired demon doing here?
She blinked. She was not imagining it. It was the red haired demon. He was staring right at her and smirking. Could he see through the tinted window glasses?
She had a sour look. "Are you okay?", one of her friends asked.
She turned her head,"Nothing, just .." her voice trailed off when she saw the other abomination stand next to the devil.
"What the heck are they doing together?" She was irritated.
Red hair pointed at her and said something to the misfit of a teacher who laughed.
She was so sure they were mocking her. She gritted her teeth.
Oh well, she was going to ignore them, but then, what if they did something inappropriate? It was her duty to protect the school reputation.
She decided to tail them.
"Excuse me ladies," she said, getting up.
"I have something I should do, I am so sorry for leaving like this."
They nodded, as if they understood her reasons. "Take care dear, we should catch up as often of possible, give us a note eveytime you are here."
Another one said, "We would come over, if not for the fear of traumatizing ourselves in the bargain."
Mina smiled. They were good friends. "I would not wish that torture upon the worst of my enemies. Don't worry. I will try to catch up with you ladies atleast once a month!"
With that, she gathered her purse and rushed out to catch up with the detestable couple.
One exclaimed, "That snake did not pay this time as well!"
Another replied, "Dear, let's not forget, her father got us our jobs, this is a small price to pay."
"Honestly, we have spent more on her than what her father did for us."
Another one nodded. "That is true, but remember, if she becomes the assistant teacher, then our life will get better."
Mina's father had made it very clear, that she had to earn her promotion. He did not want to be party to gossip about how he favoured his own child.
That was the main reason she was stuck in the stupid island in the first place.
She spotted them walking at a distance and rushed over.
They walked into a book store, nothing exciting so far. But she refused to quit.
She lingered till they walked out, and followed them to the mall.
She had the shock of her life when they went to watch a movie together.
"What is this world coming to?", she muttered to herself. A part of her was excited. She knew something juicy, no one else did at school. If they acted too smart, she would casually break it out to the principal that they were dating.
She cackled to herself in glee.
This weekend hadn't been a waste of time afterall.

Vira ignored her, as usual. She could have been a furtinure in the staffroom for all he cared.
She was irritated.
"Teachers these days have no qualms about dating their student."
There was no reaction from his side.
"If the Principal only came to know about this, I'm pretty sure he'd kick such teachers out."
Still no reaction.
Just then Maw Lava walked in.
"Maw Mira, Maw Vira!" He greeted them.
They both nodded their greeting. Before Mira could open her mouth again, Maw Lava said, "I heard yesterday's mission was successful. I feel so happy! Good job to you and Saka!" He just patted Vira on the shoulder and walked out.
Vira glanced at Mina, and walked out with his books, his face expressionless, except for the small smirk that lingered on the tip of his lips.
Mina had lost again.
