"Look who is here. Man, I hoped to be your instructor someday, but it appears that's impossible."
Max glanced at him, his eyes filled with terror and danger for anybody else, but it didn't work on Isaac since these weren't the first ones he'd seen.
"You know I despise wasted potential, but I must do this."
'Do not bore me.'
Isaac pulled out... a hand extender?
Max was baffled, what could he possibly do with that? He watched it contact him, then gazed back at Isaac. But suddenly a black spike emerged from the earth, and Max realized something.
'Dark matter? But how?
Isaac laughed.
"You see, Max, the guilds are corrupt, if you're with them, you may breach the rules. So, guess what? I made a contract.
Max's eyes widened, revealing yet another unexpected hatred for the guild. How many more would come?
'So I assume your outlawed power permits you to copy other people's drives.'
Max muttered as a black dragon curled around his back and disappeared within.
"Absolutely correct."
Isaac brought out a sword. That is what he should have drawn the first time.
They then collided. Meanwhile, battling someone with dark matter seems impossible when you consider what occurred the prior time, Max's dark matter had become stronger, and it couldn't lose to a copy as easily.
They backed away, and a circle of pink flames encompassed Max, it seemed that he may have more than one drive. It didn't matter, he could just eat it with Dark Matter. His heart stopped a little as he realized it wasn't working. So, after nearly escaping with dark matter alone, he'll need to employ something other than dark matter.
Isaac was cautiously keeping the circle when a knee landed in his face. But he was quick to respond with a fireball, which struck Max's dark matter cushion and scorched it slightly.
Man Max was pleased that he had found out this strategy.
"I think it's time to take this seriously."
He stated as he began utilizing the drives he had saved.
He utilized wind drive to increase his speed and slow Max, fire to restrict Max's mobility, and water drive for a giant bubble.
But Max didn't realize he'd used one more, his foot got caught by a black matter arm, and when he attempted to move out of the path, he couldn't release himself and was hit by it. He lasted around five seconds in the bubble before being hurled against the wall.
'You are correct, it is time.'
They collided after using BL to accelerate their movement. Max attempted a surprise assault with his fist but was thwarted by a scabbard flying into his face, but even that was a diversion.
He gazed at the massive spell charge aimed at him. He needed to avoid, and immediately!
He was injured in the arm, it appears he was unable to entirely flee. He looked at the blood and spotted something. Rain?
A thunderstorm.
Isaac's strike also struck the ceiling, causing a hole.
Max grinned to himself, this was his time. The previous time he tried this strategy he failed. Using an outside source for power.
He closed his eyes and sought about for a certain type of energy. Seeing it, he grabbed it.
Max's feet erupted with BL, and he dropped his sword, only to find another one in his palm, this one made out of BL entirely. He rushed quickly towards Isaac and struck his arm. But this jerk refused to go down. The sound of clashing swords could be heard for several minutes. Isaac was growing exhausted, meanwhile, Max was using an outside source and wasn't fatigued at all, he was even stronger than before since his soul had rested all this time.
Isaac only had one opportunity left, he had to utilize all of his drives, even if it meant losing them all. As a diamond soul class, he couldn't lose.
In front of Max's eyes, a ball of copper was formed, with a pool of energy waiting to burst from the drives inside. This was going to kill him, as well as everyone else close.
"Wait, what do you think you are doing?"
"Killing you."
Max grimaced and began yelling.
'But if you do that, you will murder everybody.'
"It doesn't matter, at least I'll be remembered as a hero in human history!"
Max raised his hand.
'Do you truly believe there is such a thing as a hero in this world? For there to be a hero, there must be a villain, a singular face to embody all that is evil. I can't deny the darkness that runs through this world, but it doesn't wear a mask or take form in one person. There is no figure for us to despise, no one to direct all our hatred toward, no single soul to bear the weight of all the wrongs. The truth is, the evil in this world isn't some external force, it's embedded in the heart of this world, woven into the fabric of our very existence.'
"Wow very deep. But you're wrong, there is a face."
'Who could that be?'
"That's obvious, who is the most hated person in the city right now, who is the person everyone wishes the worst for? That's right, you're the evil"
He laughed like a madman.
Max scowled.
'Maybe you're right, sadly you won't be here to see the answer.
He puts his hand down, and a giant lightning strikes Isaac. Turning him to ash.
For people like him, he truly didn't feel any mercy.
He looked at the hole in the ceiling and jumped, his goal was to jump all the way out, but as he reached the last floor, a wolf made out of pink fire bit him and threw him to the ground.
Looking up Max saw none other than Fay... but why were her eyes like his? Why did she have dragon eyes, and how were both her pupils empty?
