The Enubis Kingdom is the coldest place on the human continent, with a climate so harsh that ordinary people like Max could hardly endure it. It stung Max's pride to see local kids playing outside in barely any clothing while he was bundled up in layers.
When they arrived in the Enubis kingdom, Max was offered a room and some clothes, as well as food. This type of hospitality could only be given by the royal family.
He spent most of his days in the royal training ground, where he had become friends with the guard, even training him.
Max and the king had formed a... friendly bond, they weren't friends but they also weren't on bad terms.
He also learned how the princess got kidnapped. She was married to an older man, who had other plans than being a good husband.
He spent two years in the Enubis kingdom, focusing on learning some abilities.
...
So the mysterious man from before was none other than him. He had gotten his ear pierced so he could wear Airis' earrings, and he most definitely had gotten taller. But his personality still hadn't changed. His hair had grown, so he put it in a long ponytail, he tied it with a white elastic he had gotten from the princess. He still had the bracelet from Natemi on his wrist, he didn't want to take it off. It belonged to his first friend.
After saving the girl he returned back to the castle, today was a special day.
Entering the throne room Max saw the king and his princess, he was saying his goodbye.
After staying two years here, he decided to return to the Alter kingdom for some time. He wanted to see if they were still looking for him, to take him back to jail. But he also wanted to see the progress of his little sisters in terms of strength.
But before that, he decided to take a side quest, if you could even consider it that.
He was going to the Dragon Continent, in hopes of finding information about where Isabelle was being held.
...
But he first had to sneak in, humans weren't allowed there. Getting to the border he wore a black robe, this should work right.
"Hey, kid! Show yourself, if you are a dragon you wouldn't be covering yourself, instead you would be showing yourself with pride. Or are you human?"
It didn't work, what could he do now? This was terrible!
'Oh my, how disrespectful of you, don't you know who I am?'
Max had taken off the hood, but what the guard didn't expect to see were a pair of dragon eyes. And not just some random one, they belonged to The Dark Dragon Azel. Known as a general in the dragon kingdom.
With a shaken voice he responded. His pride had disappeared instead fear showed up, he feared for his life.
"I-Im extremely s-sorry, please e-enter and forgive me!"
The plan worked! Max wasn't dumb enough to really try sneaking in like that, it's stupid. Anyone over the age of ten could figure out that something wasn't right. So he made a deal with Azel, giving him control of his body for some time. Normally, he probably would have had to do some tests before being let inside, there was no doubt others had tried this.
But who was going to question a sibling of the dragon king Axel?
Now inside the Dragon Continent, the hard part had begun, he had to survive meanwhile gathering as much information. He could use Azel when he wanted to talk with someone, but he couldn't do that frequently, after all, Azel didn't do it for free.
Luckily he was in the lower area, the dragons were small and wouldn't dare talk to a dragon with a human body.
There are five dragon ranks.
The lower dragons. They were small and didn't own a vessel, also they were dragons of the primary drives.
The colossals. They were dragons of immense stature, but that didn't give them enough power to infiltrate a human and take over their body.
The Humanoid. They were the dragons that had accumulated enough power to get themself a human body through a vessel. This is what is considered upper class in the dragon kingdom.
The Generals. They were the strongest in the dragon army, most of them having mutated drives.
The last rank was given to the dragon's who instead of taking over their vessel's body, helped them. Fays Dragon was one of them.
The lower area was a stark contrast to the fantastical descriptions found in books. It lay shrouded in a somber ambiance, with vast, yawning caves dotting the landscape, these served as the lairs of the dragons. The streets, unnaturally wide, seemed designed to accommodate the massive creatures that roamed them at night, though now they appeared eerily empty. Dimly lit by towering streetlights, which stood far above and cast only a feeble glow, the surroundings were cloaked in shadows. The atmosphere felt stagnant and uninspiring, there was little to entertain himself with. However, as night crept in, he realized he would have to remain there until morning.
But the question was...
'Do you just go inside and sleep, or do I have to buy a cave? Do the dragons in the lower area have an economy?'
Well, there was nothing to do but hope that there wasn't, so he went and found a cave, but he couldn't sleep, the ground was too rough and his head was turned at an unnatural angle.
He spent most of the night trying to fall asleep, but he did. The sun was rising up but he did.
...
"Well well well, this is going to be fun"
At the entrance of the cave stood a familiar figure, but it was hidden In the shadows so his features couldn't be seen.
