Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - H for Hero

Keir looked at himself in the mirror. The mirror reflected a young man about the age of early 20. The young man didn't have any facial hairs since he was not blessed by the genetic God.

His muscles were lean and fit. From a certain point of view, his body appeared to have never trained in his life. Sadly for Keir, he built these small muscles everyday for six years straight. He didn't grow no matter what he did.

His physique remained the same.

There were many scars on his body. He got it all from his career. These scars gave unforgiven lessons to him.

Keir stretched his body , preparing for the upcoming show.

He then took out his suit from the glass box.

The suit was black. It was a perfect suit for his power. Not too extravagant. He then wore a belt which had all the necessary tools he needed.

First aid syringe. Smoke bombs. Electric Needles. Key. strings. Name card. Villain card.

He was not the type of villain who used weapons but he always carried a gun with nine rounds and two daggers.

After checking his suit for the second time , he relaxed. Then he put on a short cloak , perfect for blending in the dark. The cloak was made so it didn't hinder his movement.

The fiber was made from Planet Mar combining with the string technology he got from the Doctor Evil Scientist. The cloak was connected to his subconscious and limited AI.

He attached the cloak and began to spin. The cloak followed his movement without making any mistake.

Perfect.

Finally , he wore the most important things. The mask. A plain white mask. It had a voice altering system. The mask was attached to his cloak as well.

" I. 1 2 3..4..5. Double perfect." Keir spoke as his voice slowly changed into his villain's identity.

Looking at himself in the mirror, he won't even recognize himself.

From now he is not Keir.

His name is Phantom.

Phantom left the base. He called Syith and rode on its back. He didn't cover himself like last time.

He looked up at the sky. The sky was filled with bright stars. Each has its own life. Phantom spread his arms bracing the wind that was coming in his direction.

Normal humans would get thrown off from the Syith's back due to the fast speed. The pressure alone was enough to knock back the car.

But Phantom was not a normal human. He was much more than that. Even without his power, his physical strength was superhuman enough.

Quickly, he arrived at the city. People who saw him were afraid. Because Syith was a spirit of death, he couldn't be seen by normal humans. Even Heroes couldn't see Syith. Only a person with spirit vision could see the dead spirit.

So from the normal people's view , Phantom looked like he was flying at a fast speed. His goal was the signal tower of Hiewbard. Destroying the tower would slow down the net of Hiewbard for a few hours, making the citizens annoyed.

It was not a bad idea but he had a better one.

The signal tower was placed on top of the Flnor Hotel. The Hotel was the highest building in Hiewbard. Being the number one Hotel in the city , It had many protections.

Air based protection. Land based. Radar. Camera.

But tonight , just tonight , all the alarms will not pick up from Phantom. He had paid quite a few credits to Beggars for this afteral.

He jumped down from the Syith and called another partner.

A creature which looked like a penguin appeared out of thin air. It flapped a little wing and growled at Phantom. From afar , the creature looked like a tiny fur ball.

" What? You are busy making love with your mate , Boobrie." Phantom laughed.

Boobrie poked at Phantom's head with its mouth.

" It hurts." Phantom rubbed his head.

" No time for Joke , Boobrie." Phantom said. He then pointed at the top of Flnor Hotel.

" Pick me up." He commanded.

Boobrie cried out in annoyance. Despite his protest, Boobrie manipulated his size. After adjusting the size , he grabbed Phantom's shoulder.

He then manipulated the water vapor around him to push up. Phantom watched the scene. No matter how many times he watched, the spirit always shook him.

They didn't interact with the surroundings but they could manipulate things around them. Water which Boobrie manipulated was real to Phantom but they were not real to a normal human.

Spirit couldn't hurt living people. That was the rule of Phantom's power.

Dead don't have the power to face the living.

He arrived at the top. Boobrie gently lowered him to the ground and disappeared. He walked on the edge of the tower with ease.

He looked at his wrist. He was a bit early for the show. So he relaxes a little.

He had five spirits under his control. He didn't know where they came from. They suddenly appeared in front of him and pledged loyalty. He also saw other wandering spirits but he didn't have enough energy to make them submit to him.

He could use his spirit to beat them up and make his slave but they usually betrayed him. He could not erase their will or memories.

If he could expand his energy , his power would skyrocket.

Ting… Ting…. Ting…

The bracelet on his wrist gave out a signal. Phantom gathered himself and stood tall on the edge.

He then pushed a bottom on the belt.

Suddenly, the ground shook beneath him.

The explosion was powerful and its waves  traveled along the concrete. The signal tower behind him collapsed due to the explosion set up by the Beggars. Huge flame erupted from the tower.

The explosion triggered the oil barrels which were placed under the tower. Those flames produced a black smoke. The smoke then traveled up, morphing and forming into a monster from imagination.

" Hahahaha." Phantom laughed as the fire raged behind him.

Phantom did the explosion idea and now it was time to execute a better idea.

Phantom felt the excitement from the air. The world was telling him to do things freely. It will not judge him for his actions.

The world simply exists. But people were dumb creatures.

Society of this era stomped on people who had the thought of freedom. They made rules and laws to restrict others. They deemed rule breakers as Villains.

Rewards and punishment. The system they created benefited them.

Villains were hunted by Society. Phantom knew the power the society held. He knew the terrible things they could do to him and other villains. But something stopped them from eliminating the concept of villains.

Maybe it was the Villain God. Phantom chuckled with this thought.

Phantom didn't know what that something was and didn't give a shit about that. He just wanted to set fire to the city.

Made memories for the city he loved.

He looked back and saw the flame consumed the metal poles of the tower. He waited until his spiritual sense was alert. Someone was coming up from the ground.

Strange.

Before he could see who was coming at him, a wave of wind gusted in his direction. The pressure of the wind was intense enough to push back superhuman like him.

Shit. This is not her.

Phantom jumped down from the tower and summoned Boobrie. Boobrie quickly grabbed his shoulder and dropped him onto the ground.

" Who are you, my good man?" Phantom asked. His voice was raining down the street reaching every corner of this block.

He looked up at the tower and saw a white dot. Even after having the superhuman sight,  seeing the top of Flnor Hotel was difficult  for him.

Expand. Phantom commended limited AI quietly.

The white mask of his activated. Soon, his vision expanded giving him a flawless view at the top.

Phantom saw a man who wore a white combat suit. He had seen that kind of suit before. There was only one foundation who used this kind of suit.

Megalord foundation.

They owned various business on Earth and Plants Helium. They specialized in information network and funding Hero schools cross the galaxy. So nafurally, they controlled a very large number of legal Heroes.

Phantom took a step back and summoned Syith. In the face of the unknown power, Syith's abilities were the most useful.

The White Hero finished speaking to the unknown somebody. He looked down at Phantom, his eyes shinning in white light.

Phantom flipped his off and laughed at the hero. He didn't have any reason to do that but who needed the reason when you are free.

Even if Phantom acted as an idiot, he never let down his guard. He was constantly analysing the White Hero.

Who is he talking to? His allies? Is he from the newly formed team of Heroes? Polices?

And where the hell is the fire? Did he extengished all those flame within a few seconds?

The white Hero's suit expanded like a balloon. He then made a pushing movement with using hands. Under Phantom obersevation, the Hero jumped down from the tower in a fluid motion.

He looked like he was flying but Phantom could see gliding motion from the Hero.

Then pressure suddenly acted on Phantom's body. He felt gravity increased and his bones carried a ton to weights. His knees gave out and he fell straight to the ground. Concrete beneath him crushed into pebbles.

Phantom grinned beneath his mask. This was not in his plan but he welcomed it happily.
