Chapter 10 - Sword and Curiosities - 2

Now I share the same feeling as Goddess-sama… the person who has destroyed so many species of life, is truly someone repulsive and must be censured.

I guess this clarifies my question: What does the spiritual network have to do with the existence of so many species of life? Are they really unsalvageable? The answer is that almost everything is a product of spiritual energy.

Just like the theory of evolution that was developed in my time, there is no such discovery here yet. The answers to the origin of life are practically stupid. But taking into account this time when magic exists, together with all this accumulated information that I have in my hands, I think I could merge it and complement what would be the theory of evolution of the magical world. And hence my answer to the question about the extinction of all this diversity in nature.

I'll try to be brief about what I understood, but it may sound silly...

During the process of life formation and its evolution in the different conditions of each territory of the earth, the existence of spiritual power, which at that time was surely at high levels of density, played an important role in the development of different species both on land and in the ocean. Since magical circuits are found in everything we know, then in those cells and in their formation process over billions of years, it was also the same.

Living beings, whose origin is to be an adaptive parasite by their evolutionary nature, quickly took shape according to the conditions of their environment in order to survive. Thousands had to disappear due to not being able to adapt completely, while the luckiest ones already began the process of reproduction. But there was another factor: each environment housed different levels of spiritual power density. The same applied in the creation process of the ancient original species of the human race. During that process, their evolution became more of the natural type that depended on and integrated formation in spiritual power compared to other races that already had form at that time; making them less connected to the spiritual network, but still having a natural spiritual circuit granted from their formation as living beings without any form. A successful evolution that turned out to be imperfect from the point of view of the laws of the strongest.

Millions of years later, once life had formed and was capable of sustaining itself, and whose intelligence allowed them to communicate and create groups, whether to hunt or sustain themselves, they began to meet other races of life and began the process of interaction and conquest between them. Bringing more different species into the world and, consequently, the first small population of villages around the world.

The point now is that species of life whose original development is to feed on spiritual power to live, as they have always done, might not be able to continue feeding themselves if the Great Spiritual Network disappears, then that organism of life would begin the process of consuming itself internally until it weakens and is unable to sustain itself.

Because they are strongly dependent on spiritual power and their core needs to replenish the energy it consumes so much. Just using spiritual power would speed up their death; only an empty shell would remain...

But that is not the case with humans, as they were never so dependent on their spiritual life, but on the natural process of their bodies as independent consumer organisms. Perhaps they were affected by the disappearance of the spiritual network, but the impact is minimal compared to other races; it turned out to be a favorable coincidence in the midst of a large-scale massacre over the course of 8,000 years.

I think that answers my question... and whether I'm right or wrong is my business.

In any case, that tragedy must be avoided...

And the mermaids in this place are very beautiful...

With that thought in mind, I slowly closed the book I was reading in the middle of the silent library. I consecutively picked up the various books scattered on the table and arranged them in their respective places.

Each shelf of books is marked and divided into events based on a certain order in the historical timeline of this era.

"There are a lot of things..." I muttered to myself as I looked at the collection of books in general.

Why did none of this survive into the future or even remain in manuscript form? There is too much lost information.

It's time to start the fencing and technique lessons with Wolf...

It's been four weeks since I've been here at the Quaramis Palace of the North. And I haven't rested a single day...

Zaphyris was right when she said that Wolf was strict and his training demanding. But that's not all, Wolf's training has hit my body hard, as I've never done any of this and he really is crazy.

I feel like I'm going to die again at any moment... This training almost took my life numerous times if only he hadn't been present to use holy healing magic...

My schedule is divided into two sections: in the morning is sword practice, and in the afternoon is magic practice.

Wolf takes care of everything, but Zaphyris has been around and teaching me excitedly lately, since I piqued her curiosity thanks to some recent incidents...

But before I talk about that, I'll go back to the first day of my training to explain the situation...

Since day one, the intensity hasn't dropped one bit, whether it's swordplay or magic... it's overwhelming. But I think I can get used to it.

Since Wolf is a Beast Style Sword King and Zaphyris is the Ice Empress, they surely think that I can easily imitate their strength. They don't understand that their level is completely inhuman!

It's completely crazy and they have no mercy in hitting me.

The second day was the same, the same thing happened on the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth... but something changed on the seventh day.

As I tried to land a blow with my sword on the untouchable Wolf, I suddenly stopped and looked at him for an opportunity to force him to raise his sword. He didn't even have a stance, his guard was loose and his sword was hanging in his right hand while his left hand was on his back.

He's not even taking it seriously... but he's making it easy for me.

He's been deflecting my clumsy attacks and dodging them like a child's tantrums. But I've noticed something strange: every time I receive his attacks, just before I fall unconscious to the ground, I can see and feel Wolf following a complex pattern of manipulation that moves through his spiritual circuits.

I can clearly see certain amounts of spiritual roots being activated and feel the power and strength coming from them when they hit me aggressively.

"I feel like I can recreate it..." I thought that to myself.

I raised my sword again with the same stance he had been teaching me until now. Wolf didn't even flinch and continued to stare at me as silently as ever...

Surely there is another blow from me to then knock me out with a counterattack.

When I wake up a few minutes later, he always starts giving me basic advice on using the spiritual root and some basic defense and attack movements...

Wolf is always the same and has a lot of patience when teaching me. He may be cold and silent but he is strangely kind...

Thanks for that, Wolf.

As I focused on recreating those patterns I see within Wolf, I felt new connections in my spiritual circuits light up as if they had been there all along.

It seems to me that the spiritual circuits of the Beast Style are very complex and are located in certain very specific areas of the entire spiritual root.

I'm not sure about that, but I feel a coldness in several parts of my spiritual circuit… they are the same parts of the root that I have seen inside Wolf so far and several times in a row.

I'm ready!

With that said to myself, I performed the same clumsy attack as always. Wolf didn't even flinch at the sight of me running towards him.

It was just as I thought he would do...

"This is how I wanted to catch you, damn it!"

At the last minute I executed the technique and it came out perfectly. An aggressive impulse exploded from within me as my body felt unusually light as a feather. My strength shifted through my arms along with the footwork of that position and accelerated my thrust.

He had managed to perfectly imitate Wolf's Beast Style.

"...?" Just inches away from touching him, her instincts seemed to notice him at the last moment.

After a strange pirouette, he raised his sword and jumped while twisting his body in the air to dodge and counter my attack that moved aggressively from his ribs up.

What a flashy and polished action... Is this extravagance the Beast Style?

Wolf instantly raised his sword and looked at me warily. I couldn't see his face through that mask but I could feel it...

At that moment I felt a small satisfaction at seeing that I managed to make Wolf stand on guard against me.

Now I don't feel so pathetic.... he he
