After the lecture ended, Mahnoor and Daemond made their way to the campus café. The usual buzz of students filled the air as they waited in line to order their coffees. Daemond, maintaining his usual calm demeanor, seemed unfazed by the events of the lecture, but Mahnoor was a bundle of barely contained energy.
As they waited for their drinks, Mahnoor turned to Daemond with a playful glint in her eye. "So, about your little game in class today," she said, her tone light but edged with mock annoyance.
Daemond raised an eyebrow, a small, self-satisfied smile on his lips. "What about it?" he asked innocently, though his eyes betrayed his amusement.
Without warning, Mahnoor started to gently hit him on the arm. Her taps were playful but insistent, punctuated by bursts of laughter. "You think you're so clever, don't you? Testing my focus like that!"
Daemond laughed, dodging a few of her playful swats. "I was just curious to see how well you could handle distractions," he said, his voice full of mirth. "And clearly, you handled it pretty well."
Mahnoor rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress a smile. "Well, if you're going to make it a habit of turning our lectures into your personal playground, you might want to watch out. I might just get you back for that."
"Looking forward to it," Daemond said with a grin, clearly enjoying their playful banter.
Their coffees were ready, and they moved to a small table by the window. As they sipped their drinks, the conversation shifted to lighter topics, but the undercurrent of their earlier encounter lingered between them. The playful exchange had broken the tension, allowing them both to relax and enjoy each other's company without the weight of their more intense moments hanging over them.
Mahnoor leaned back in her chair, her gaze softening as she looked at Daemond. "You know, despite your antics, I really do enjoy these moments with you."
Daemond met her gaze with a genuine smile. "Me too. They keep things interesting."
Their laughter and light-hearted conversation filled the café as they continued to enjoy their coffee, their earlier game in the lecture hall now a shared, amusing memory that brought them even closer.
