I steadied my breath, summoning my courage, and charged ahead, wind blade in hand.
I charged toward the other side of the beast where Ryder was locked in battle, and the creature was completely oblivious to my presence. Just as my blade was about to make contact, it suddenly twisted away, pivoting to face me head-on. Its dark eyes narrowed, locking onto mine with a menacing intensity, even though they were little more than shadows. It was clear that it was sizing me up with pure malice.
"Lyra, Biter, come give me a hand!"
[Yes, Master!] I could hear their voices buzzing with excitement as I pulled a wind/zombie orb from my inventory and made my way over to Ryder.
Since he wouldn't be munching on the orb, it was safe to use it to enhance his weapons or armor. No risk of him turning into a zombie here! I stepped up to Ryder and tossed the orb his way. He instinctively snatched it out of the air, a puzzled expression crossing his face.
