He walks down the stairs to his second class of the day, math. Fortunately, he isn't too bad at math, but, unfortunately he's not a morning person so he doesn't pay much attention in the class.
Walking down the stairs, he takes one step, then two, then three, but then… something seems wrong.
'Did I miss a step?'
He doesn't feel the stair under his foot, he turns his head down to look in a slight panic he begins to feel a breeze. He shuts his eyes tightly, prepared for the impact of falling down the stairs, how embarrassing. Falling down the stairs in high school infront of all of his classmates, he'd rather just disappear.
As he keeps his eyes shut, he realizes that he hasn't made impact yet somehow. There's also an odd cool breeze around him. Hesitantly, he opens his eyes. They widen with what they're met with.
He's falling. In the sky. A bright blue sky, clouds surrounding him, with what looks to be a village in a comfortable field of green grass with a forest surrounding it underneath him. He can't help but scream as he flails around in the air. Suddenly, a roar can be heard. He quickly turns his head and is met with a red dragon flying a few yards away from him. He screams more, tears filling his eyes.
'I WAS JUST TRYING TO GO TO MATH.'
His eyes automatically shut again due to the strong wind pushing itself into them. The ground grows closer and closer, his eyes shutting tighter and tighter. Is this it? Is this his fate? To die from this impact with so many unanswered questions? He hasn't even graduated high school yet. He's only 16. He doesn't want to die. He can't die. He won't die.
Right as he is about to hit the ground, a blue glow surrounds him. It levitates him in the air for a moment before dropping him. Wherever he fell, it stinks. Sounds of glass and rustling surrounds him as he moves around, cautiously opening his eyes to see if he's dead or not.
When his eyes open, what surrounds him is paper bags, rotting food, glass (hopefully not broken, he thinks), and other trash. It seems that he is in a dumpster. He can't help but frown and furrow his brows in confusion.
'What the hell?'
How did he go from his school to a trash bin? Also, how did he fall through the air?? And WAS that a dragon??? He goes to take a deep breath to calm his nerves, but quickly rethinks that decision due to the trash surrounding him. He must stink as much, if not worse, as this trash bin does. He let's out a frustrated and confused groan.
Once he's finally out of the trash bin, he looks around carefully. This is unknown territory, it'd be best for him to be as cautious as possible. He may be young, but he isn't an idiot. He knows not to just run around and find someone to ask "Hey, I just fell from the sky. Where am I and why are there dragons here?" with a stupid smile on his face. Who knows if murder is legal here?? If dragons exist, he is sure that other monsters must exist too.
He sniffs himself, recoiling slightly at the smell of his clothes. Luckily, most of the stink is on his clothes, but he's sure that if he takes them off he'd still have an off smell to him. Looking around, he spots some clothes being hung from a clothesline. They look like they're just his size, and they look fairly fancy compared to the alley he's currently in. How convenient, almost too convenient, but beggars can't be choosers.
'Well, it's their fault for leaving them up for grabs like this… maybe I'll pay these people back once I figure things out here.'
Grabbing the clothes, the boy quickly changes into them. He buttons up the white dress shirt, puts on the tan vest, and slips on the black slacks. He decides to just toss his socks out since they're soaked in trash water, there's no salvaging them. He also just tosses his shoes away, praying that he won't step on something sharp and get infected. He really doubts that they have hospitals here, it looks more like a medieval village of some fantasy world. It's all so stereotypical, he can almost feel himself cringing despite his situation. That, and something about all of this seems eerily familiar to him, but he can't quite place his finger on it.
After awhile of standing in the alley and pondering, he sighs and decides to leave. He does one last sniff test on himself, deciding that he just smells like a sweaty teenage boy instead of sewage water now, and leaves the alley, entering to what seems to be the plaza of this olden looking village.
The village itself actually does seem fairly old. The bricks have moss growing on them, the pavement is extremely cracked with grass poking through, and there are tons of villagers walking around. Narrowing his eyes, he quickly glances over to check if anything is out of the ordinary. Luckily, they all look to be human. They all have normal colored hair and eyes and features, he can't help but sigh in relief. If there had been animal people or elves he would've definitely screamed and embarrassed himself.
'Now, I just have to figure out where I am. It's clear that I'm not in America, and I'm definitely not on Earth anymore. This doesn't seem to be a different planet, so maybe a different dimension? It sounds stupid but I've read enough novels to know that this is such a painfully stereotypical world type for being Isekai'd into another world...'
As he walks, he thinks to himself and sighs defeated, accepting the fact that he's been Isekai'd into another world. Now, he just has to figure out what exactly this world is and how to survive in it. Without realizing, the people around him whisper and spare him glances. They know who he is. One of the many village people run to tell the noble who rules over this land. Without realizing, the boy has already gained himself trouble that'll stick with him for a very, very long time.
