Chapter 15 - Chapter 14: The First Guild

As the use of magic spread across Novus Mundus, it became clear that the raw, untrained power was dangerous. Some sought to use it for good, while others, overwhelmed by its might, used it for destruction. Battles between mages began to erupt, and entire villages were caught in the crossfire. It became evident that without guidance, magic would lead to chaos.

In the city of Elenor, where noble dissent was growing, a group of mages decided to come together to study magic, to train one another, and to create rules for its use. These mages, led by Lyra, the blacksmith-turned-sorcerer, formed the first Guild of Magi. They called themselves the Arcane Circle, and their purpose was clear: to bring order to the chaotic spread of magic, to protect those who used it, and to ensure it was not misused.

The Arcane Circle built their headquarters in Elenor, constructing a towering structure known as The Spire of Knowledge. This became the center for all things magical—a place where aspiring mages could come to learn, where scholars could study the mysteries of the world, and where the laws of magic would be debated and set.

The Five Pillars of the Arcane Circle:

The mages of the Arcane Circle established five core principles, known as the Five Pillars, to guide the use of magic:

Balance: Magic must be used to maintain balance in the world, never to disrupt it. Respect for Life: Magic should not be used to harm others unless in defense. Mastery through Study: True mastery of magic comes through study and discipline, not through raw power alone. Responsibility: Those who wield magic must be responsible for its consequences. Unity: Mages must work together to ensure that magic is a force for good in the world.

The Arcane Circle's influence began to grow. Mages from all over Novus Mundus flocked to Elenor to join the guild, seeking to hone their skills and learn from the most powerful magi in the land. Soon, the Arcane Circle became a powerful force in its own right, not just a scholarly order, but a political entity capable of challenging the kings and nobles of the world.
