In another dimensional plane, a raging battle between two powerhouses was taking place in the sky. Down below, hundreds of thousands of beastly and demonic bodies clashed against each other, all contesting for strength.
One of the two powerful figures in the skies was thrown down to the ground by a powerful blow, and when he crashed down, a crater that was tens of meters deep and wide was formed.
"You have the gall to be distracted in a battle with me, Mundo, the Conqueror?!" The other figure in the sky growled, his body lowering down from the sky. A mighty aura washed down from his five meter tall figure. Four thick matte black horns sprouted from the top of his head before curling back and coming around to frame his jaw and chin.
"Cough-!" The other figure on the ground let out a hoarse cough as it stood up from the crater. With a wave of its hand, the dust around was swept away, revealing a two meter tall figure that had the rough proportions of an average human. The main difference lay in the two curved horns above its head and the long claws on its fingers.
"You overestimate yourself, Mundo. Striking when I am still recovering from a battle with one of the Archdukes. You are despicable!" If Eugene heard the voice of this Demon, then he would be shocked. The reason being that this voice belonged to the Demon that had promised its power to him!
"You sound like you wouldn't have done the same thing, Argon. If I was in the same situation, then you would have swooped in to put an end to our hundred year grudge." Mundo grinned viciously.
"Unlike you, I am a rare breed of honorable Demons. I prefer to fight up front and not pull underhanded means like this. There is a limit to my shamelessness." Argon replied as he floated back up to the sky. "That said... I am not against certain measures." He spread open his arms and the ground beneath them for a hundred kilometers suddenly flashed with the light of a magical formation array.
"No! What did you do?!" Mundo growled and quickly distanced himself from Argon.
"You see, I was prepared for you to a certain extent. I prepared for a mutual destruction situation." Argon let a vicious grin climb his face. The magical formation beneath them flashed one more time and a gigantic dome made of potent mana appeared around the army. It was not able to encompass them all, but it was enough.
"You wouldn't dare!" Mundo growled and charged at Argon. His fists lit up as he drew upon the qi and mana running through his body to strengthen himself. The manifestation of a twenty meter tall giant enveloped him, giving him an even more intimidating aura and bearing.
"Stop." Argon held up his hand and the giant figure stopped. However, it only stopped for a moment before beginning to move ever so slowly. Blood dripped from the corner of Argon's lips as he strained to maintain the time stop field around Mundo.
On a normal day, he would not strain as much, but as he had yet to recover from his injuries in the fight against a Demon Archduke earlier, he was not able to perform at his peak.
When he said he had prepared for Mundo, it was not a lie. That was why he had decided to lay back on a contingency plan and find a human that would be suitable to serve as his vessel should he fall in this battle.
He did not plan to take over the human's body, as it would only hinder him in the long run. He only intended to rest until he regained his power before he would return with a blazing fury and destroy all his enemies.
"Let us die together, my friend." Argon opened his arms and released the time stop. Immediately, Mundo's body barreled right at him, with an axe made of black, shiny metal. The axe was wrapped in a golden-red flame.
Swish!
The axe swung down, and just as it was about to slice Argon in two, the formation below finally lit up with bright light and erupted.
BOOOOOOM!!!!!
An explosion of untold magnitudes shook the entire earth of that plane. The Demons and beasts far from the battlefield all paused as they witnessed a blinding light was over them. This dimensional plane was small compared to the real world, but it was still as big as the Sand Sea in the real world alone. However, the explosion that had been set off by Argon shook it to its core, leaving it burnt and scarred beyond belief.
When the light and heat of the magical explosion had died down, all that was left was a single figure floating in the sky.
Mundo looked around at the absolute destruction that was all around him. A scant few of his army had survived. Only about a hundred thousand out of the six hundred thousand that he had come with survived, and that was only because of the isolation effect of the dome that Argon had cast.
"I did not think that fool would actually go through with it." He grunted as he looked around. He had witnessed Argon's body be eradicated in the explosion, so he did not doubt that he had won this battle. As for his army, it was a trivial thing. He could always return to the main dimension of the Demons and recruit more in large numbers.
His body was scorched black and damaged, but it was better than being dead. His giant energy body had protected him from most of the damage in the explosion.
"Serves you right, arrogant fool. You actually thought you could take me out with such a simple tactic? Ha!" Mundo declared to the sky before commanding the rest of his army to march with him to Argon's castle in the distance. It had been outside of the blast radius and had been unscathed.
