Chapter 54 - Raw Stone Convention

Ling Feng thought for a moment and suddenly remembered that this person had previously sought medical advice from his master. Glancing at the cover of the materials, he noticed several impressive awards printed on it:

"Outstanding Traditional Medicine Expert in the Country""Renowned Medical Scholar Nationally""International Medical Conference Specialist""…"

"Really? This thing can win awards?" Ling Feng couldn't help but scoff. To him, it seemed like nonsense. While it shared some similarities with the theories of the Medical Martial Arts, it ultimately felt like a derivative theory based on the basics.

"You shouldn't speak if you don't understand," a voice cut in. "This book is hailed as the most visionary medical work of the new century! Many of its theories have paved the way for the medical field, opening a whole new door for medicine. It's a must-have for every medical student! The upcoming forum is hosted by this very author!"

Zheng Miao Yi shot him a glare and snatched the study materials back. Without hesitation, she ushered Ling Feng out of the room.

For the next two days, Zheng Miao Yi didn't have to work and focused entirely on her studies. Ling Feng tried several times to share some useful insights with her, but each time he was met with a roll of her eyes. Unable to convince her, he gave up.

In the meantime, he took care of some business at the clinic. By the weekend, he called Yu Tiansheng to say he was interested in attending the original stone conference. Zheng Miao Yi's birthday was next month, and Ling Feng thought it'd be a good idea to check out the conference for potential gifts.

He planned to bring along the original stone from before, hoping Yu Tiansheng could introduce him to some skilled craftsmen to make the most out of it.

"Stop right there! Show us your invitation!" At the entrance of the conference, Ling Feng was stopped by a security guard. The guard noticed his plain attire and spoke harshly.

"I'm here at Mr. Yu's request!" Ling Feng handed over Yu Tiansheng's business card. Yu had mentioned that he could show the card to gain entry.

"No way! No invitation, no entry. That's the rule!" The guard glanced at the card but still refused him entry.

Behind him, someone started mocking. "You think you can just sneak in without an invitation? Do you even know where you are? People like you shouldn't even be here!"

Ling Feng turned and gave him a cool glance before ignoring him, stepping aside to call Yu Tiansheng.

"Ha! A nobody like you doesn't belong here. You'll never get in!" The man sneered, thinking Ling Feng had backed down. He continued to loudly announce that Ling Feng was trying to sneak in without an invitation, warning everyone to remember his face.

After finishing his call, Ling Feng simply stood quietly by the side, waiting for Yu Tiansheng to come out.

"Security, get this guy out of here!" the oily man said, pointing at Ling Feng. "He's just hanging around, ruining the atmosphere for the guests!"

Just then, Yu Tiansheng emerged from the venue.

"What's going on here?" he asked.

"This guy's trying to sneak in without an invitation," the oily man said, trying to ingratiate himself. "I just thought it would ruin everyone's mood if he stayed."

Ignoring the man, Yu Tiansheng approached Ling Feng. "I'm sorry, Mr. Ling. That guard I instructed had to leave unexpectedly!"

"No worries. Just waiting a bit longer with a fly buzzing in my ear," Ling Feng replied casually.

Yu Tiansheng's expression darkened, and he turned to the oily man. "I don't want to see him again. Cancel his entry and throw him out!"

"Yes, sir!" The two security guards took the oily man's invitation and immediately ripped it up, tossing it in the trash.

"You—" The oily man was stunned. He hadn't expected this turn of events.

"What are you still doing here? Didn't you hear what I said?" Yu Tiansheng shouted at the guards, who quickly moved to eject the oily man.

"Mr. Ling, please come in!" Yu Tiansheng personally guided Ling Feng into the venue. Those still lining up with invitations looked on in amazement, murmuring amongst themselves.

To offend Yu Tiansheng was to offend all the jewelers in the area.

As they walked into the venue, Yu Tiansheng began explaining the original stone conference to Ling Feng. It wasn't much different from typical stone gambling events; the scale was just larger, with higher-quality stones.

What piqued Ling Feng's interest was that there would be jade masters on-site, polishing original stones into jade pieces. Even if they couldn't complete them right away, they'd sign contracts on the spot. Rumor had it that many high-profile stone gamblers were in attendance, and the organizers hoped to attract famous figures to enhance their reputation.

"If someone uncovers the best stone, they'll get a chance for Master Yan to design and create jewelry for them," Yu Tiansheng explained. "And the polishing fees are free."

Master Yan was one of the top craftsmen in jewelry design today, and even Yu Tiansheng found it hard to remain calm at the thought.

Hearing this, Ling Feng nodded in satisfaction. Since he planned to give Zheng Miao Yi a gift, it had to be the best. The original stones he had from the market were decent, but they certainly wouldn't impress someone like Master Yan.

He headed to the exchange area and exchanged the jade he had cut earlier for over a million in cash, preparing to use it for stone gambling.

"Brother Ling, I have to attend to something. Feel free to look around and warm up your skills!" Yu Tiansheng said before walking away.

Hosting the jewelry conference was just one of the reasons for increasing visibility; he also needed to discuss matters with other jewelry magnates.

"Ling Feng, is that you?" Suddenly, a woman in a stunning dress approached him with light, quick steps. She was breathtakingly beautiful, drawing attention wherever she went.

However, when people saw her greet Ling Feng, they couldn't help but sigh.

"A flower among cow dung!" they murmured. A guy like him, somehow catching the attention of a goddess.
