Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

The narration took longer than expected as Elèna talked while eating popcorns and Lenox also did the same as he listened. By the time the popcorns were over, Elena felt a but better as she did not cry during the narration as she had expected. This also made her feel relieved and she couldn't help but voice out a simple thank you to Lenox who only smiled." You see Kerryne, a problem shared it half solved. We all at times of our needs need a shoulder to lean òn especially when we are down. A great man once told me;" the fear of loving someone will go away once you fall in love and you will now develop another fear ; losing that person and you will do a lot to make that person stay but once you lose that person , that fear will go away and you will fear loving once again. Life is an endless cycle of love, hate sickness and death. We live to love and not love to live so never show someone that you are desperate for his or her love because they will only use it against you. "Everything is fair in love and was but love is not fair so you have to place your cards well," Patrick said.

"You are full of positive vibes, it makes me wonder about the lucky girl whom you are currently dating," Kerryne said as she stared at Patrick sincerely." You are the first person to say so and to think in such a positive manner. Actually I am not that lucky to have someone that I can call mine as of now," Patrick said stressing on the last part of his sentence as he stared back at Kerryne." You are kidding, right?" Kerryne asked unsure of how to react but staring at Patrick's serious expression she laughed her heart out." You mean, you are single. This is new. Well,I have many friends I can introduce you to one of them," Kerryne offered." I am just a traveller so forget about it. Love is definitely not for me. I don't want to be picked up in the middle of nowhere while drunk because of a heartbreak. I still hold onto the opinion of being the traveller I am and gaining experience of new cultures," Patrick said with a smile as he stared at Kerryne who was staring back at him in a daze.

"Well then Mr. Traveller, don't forget to bring me along while travelling. Since you already know my story I am now interested in yours. One does not decide to travel for nothing but to quench a spirit if adventure and you are definitely not part of that group. Tit for tat is a fair game," Kerryne said." You asked for It," Patrick said after a moment of silence as he asked for another bag of popcorn only for it to end up in Kerryne's hands. Patrick only smiled at this as it seemed he had already expected such an outcome." I was raised in a small village in the middle of nowhere. I am the third son of my father who is the village chief but something changed on my seventh birthday as my hair turned to white in that very night and my eyes turned to blue so it was believed that I was cursed. My life was always low and if not for my teacher and mother, I guess I'd be part of an history to some people. I was banished out of the village and forced to survive in a forest full of wolves but I survived and now here I am," Patrick said as he picked out the important events and left out some parts.

Although the story was a lie it was not a complete lie rather it was half filled with truths and half filled with lies. Although Patrick spoke in a carefree tone, Kerryne could clearly feel the bitterness hidden deep within his carefree tone and nonchalant attitude. The two strangers spent the whole night making stories and playing games that if one saw them one would mistake them as long time friends. When it was morning and the sun was already showing its red eye from the horizon, Patrick woke up and felt something heavy on his shoulders while his hands were holding onto a soft hand. Turning his head to the side, he happened to meet Kerryne's green eyes that were now opening." You sure had a goodnight," Patrick said making Kerryne to blush as she buried her face on his right arm. For a moment Patrick felt that such a moment should last but he also knew it was a wishful thinking on his side.

"We are soon reaching our destination so it is only a few hours before the plane lands. I think you should at least go and dress yourself after all it won't be good for your image if you go home in such a manner," Patrick said as he opened his laptop only to find many notifications which he had seemingly ignored." I forgot to carry any of my clothes apart from what am wearing," Kerryne said shyly." It seems you were really dressed up for the party," Patrick chuckled as he stared at Kerryne once again from top to bottom causing Kerryne to bite her lower lips. Patrick almost couldn't resist the urge to pounce at her in such a moment but he held himself back as he took out his French coat and gave it to Kerryne." You don't have to feel grateful or like you owe me anything. I also needed someone to talk to and you needed someone to listen so we both benefited. Life has always been a lonely journey for me atleast you made this one a worthwhile journey," Patrick said with a smile.

Kerryne stared at Patrick with mixed emotions in her eyes as she did not know how to respond. Although they only met yesterday, she felt like she had known this guy for long and although it sounded ridiculous she felt that he actually knew her more than anyone else and could understand her thoughts better even when she did not voice them out. The rest of the journey was quite peaceful and the duo enjoyed their remaining moments together as Kerryne knew that after this she was back to her normal identity and the same was for Patrick so they only dared to be wilful in such a place. Soon Kerryne slept again peacefully on Patrick's shoulders. Patrick tried tying her seatbelt over her as the plane was about to land. She woke up a few minutes later due to the disturbance caused by the landing plane. A sweet smile appeared on her lips when she saw Patrick next to her. Patrick happened to catch a glimpse of her smile and also smiled back as his heart felt at peace. He did not know why but he felt happy had wished to protect such a smile no matter the cost.
