Chapter 19 - Luxury in Motion

Chapter 19:Luxury in Motion

The day was coming to an end when Quinn, lost in thought, exited his last class for the day. He adjusted the strap of his backpack as he headed for the exit, his mind still buzzing with thoughts about the futures market and the profits he had made the previous day. Life had changed drastically for him in just a few weeks. His rise in wealth was meteoric, and now he was strategizing his next move to further cement his position in this world.

As he crossed the main courtyard, his peripheral vision caught a familiar sight. Lisa, his neighbor and classmate, was standing near a bench, waving at him energetically. She trotted over to him with a big smile on her face, breathing a little heavily. Quinn paused, watching her approach. Despite everything going on in his life, he couldn't help but notice how good Lisa looked. She had that effortless beauty, the kind that stood out even in the middle of a bustling campus. Her light brown hair was tied back in a casual ponytail, and she wore a simple but elegant outfit—a cream-colored blouse paired with jeans and a jacket.

When Lisa finally caught up to him, she took a moment to stabilize her breath before speaking. "Hey, Quinn! Are you busy tonight?" she asked, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

Quinn raised an eyebrow, curious about where this was going. "Why?" he asked in a nonchalant tone, slipping his hands into his pockets. Lisa didn't seem to notice the lack of enthusiasm in his voice.

"Well, I was thinking," she began, "I have some shopping to do later, and I wanted to grab dinner afterward. I thought it might be fun if you came along. It's been a while since we've hung out outside of school."

Her offer caught Quinn slightly off guard. Despite their occasional conversations and friendly walks to class, they hadn't spent much time together outside of those brief moments. Quinn thought for a moment. His mind was still focused on business, on the endless strategies that Nexus helped him devise. But something in Lisa's earnest expression made him pause. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to take a break, at least for a few hours.

"Well," Quinn replied, "I actually need to visit the automobile dealer plaza today. I've been meaning to buy a car for a while now, so I figured today might be a good time for that."

"Oh, that sounds perfect!" Lisa said, her eyes lighting up. "I can come along with you, and then we can head to the mall afterward. You know, make an evening out of it."

Quinn thought about it for a second longer before nodding. "Alright," he said. "I guess that works."

Lisa smiled brightly, clearly pleased with his answer. "Great! I'll go home and get ready. What time should we meet?"

Quinn checked his watch. "How about in an hour? I'll call a taxi and meet you in front of the apartment complex."

"Sounds good," Lisa agreed. "See you soon!"

With that, she waved goodbye and hurried off, leaving Quinn standing in the courtyard, still slightly bewildered by the sudden turn of events. He hadn't planned on spending his evening shopping and having dinner with anyone, but it seemed like a harmless way to pass the time. And, truthfully, it had been a while since he'd indulged in any personal purchases. With his bank account now holding more than $150 million, the thought of finally buying a luxury car didn't seem like a bad idea.

After walking back to his apartment, Quinn changed into something more comfortable—an understated black shirt and jeans. He glanced at his phone and called Lucy, a discreet, high-end taxi service that catered to wealthy clients. Within minutes, the ride was confirmed, and a sleek black car would be waiting for him soon.

When the taxi arrived, Quinn grabbed his phone and wallet, heading downstairs to meet Lisa. As he reached the front of the apartment complex, he saw her standing there, waiting for him. Lisa had changed into a stylish outfit—a dark green dress paired with a leather jacket, her hair now cascading down her shoulders. She smiled as Quinn approached, and they both got into the waiting taxi.

"So," Lisa said once they were seated, "what kind of car are you thinking of getting?"

Quinn leaned back in his seat, contemplating for a moment. "Something practical but luxurious. I've been thinking about an SUV, maybe a Range Rover or a Mercedes G-Class. Something that stands out but still has a bit of class."

"Sounds fancy," Lisa said with a chuckle. "I've always wanted a luxury car myself, but that's a bit out of my budget at the moment."

Quinn smiled faintly, but his mind was already drifting back to business matters. As the taxi weaved through the busy streets, he thought about his ever-growing empire and the next steps he needed to take. The weapons deals in South Africa were going smoothly, and his latest venture into the futures market had yielded staggering profits. But there was always more to do, more money to be made.

The automobile dealer plaza was located in the heart of the city, a sprawling complex filled with showrooms for all the top luxury brands. The taxi pulled up to the entrance, and Quinn and Lisa stepped out. Quinn took a deep breath, surveying the area. He had always dreamed of this moment—walking into a high-end dealership and buying any car he wanted, with no concern for the price tag.

As they entered the Range Rover dealership, a sleek black SUV caught Quinn's eye almost immediately. It was the exact model he had been considering—a Range Rover Sport, fully loaded with all the latest features. The salesman approached them with a professional smile, clearly sizing up Quinn as a serious buyer.

"Good evening," the salesman greeted them. "Looking for something in particular?"

Quinn nodded toward the black Range Rover. "That one," he said simply.

The salesman's eyes widened slightly. "Excellent choice. It's one of our top models, with a V8 engine and the latest in luxury features. Would you like to take it for a test drive?"

Quinn glanced at Lisa, who was practically beaming at the thought of riding in such an expensive car. "Yeah, let's take it for a spin," Quinn replied.

The salesman led them to the vehicle, and after a brief explanation of its features, Quinn slid into the driver's seat. Lisa hopped into the passenger side, looking just as excited as Quinn, if not more. The engine roared to life as Quinn pressed the ignition, and they pulled out of the dealership onto the main road.

The drive was smooth, and the power of the engine was undeniable. The car handled like a dream, and Quinn felt an overwhelming sense of satisfaction. This was what success tasted like—the ability to buy whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. After a short drive around the city, they returned to the dealership, and Quinn knew that this was the car for him.

"I'll take it," he said as they stepped out of the vehicle.

The salesman's smile widened. "Fantastic choice. We can finalize the paperwork inside."

As they returned to the showroom, Quinn could feel the weight of his wealth sinking in. This was just the beginning—his empire was growing, and there was no limit to what he could achieve. After signing the necessary documents and arranging for the car to be delivered to his apartment, Quinn and Lisa left the dealership, the excitement still buzzing in the air.

"Congratulations on your new car," Lisa said, nudging him playfully.

"Thanks," Quinn replied, feeling a strange sense of pride.

Now that the car was taken care of, it was time to head to the mall and continue the evening as planned. The night was young, and Quinn knew that while material possessions were satisfying, his real joy came from the power he was accumulating behind the scenes.
