9 years later...
A young boy was seated in a chair outside his house on a wooden chair, the sun was shining on the village, casting a warm and golden glow. The boy was engrossed in a book he was reading, his hazel brown eyes gleaming with ever found interest.
"Interesting.." The boy muttered as he turned the page, descriptions of magic and monsters filled the page as he countinued reading, learning more and more about the world he had been reborn into.
"Chris!" A young girl called out as she ran to him, a warm smile spread across her face as she was excited to him.
Cain, now reborn as Chris, looked up at the girl approaching him, a small smile formed on his face as he stood up from his chair.
"Hey Mia" Cain greeted as he walked up to her, closing his book and throwing it on the chair he had just sat on.
It had been 9 years since Cain's reincarnation and during that time he had learned alot about the world. He was the son of a retired adventurer, and hailed in a humble village far away from the capital.
His dad was a renowned noble that had used his mother for his own pleasures, and left her to rot in this small village as he continued to enjoy his noble status. The fact pissed him off as he was the son of a scumbag, and when he would awaken his abilities he would make his father pay dearly for what he had done.
In this world, when a child reaches the age of 10, they get a chance to awaken their magical attribute. The most common ones are the elemental magical attributes, fire, wind, water, and earth. While some are much more rarer, such as dark and light magic.
But not all people that awaken magical attributes, most people that don't have Talents or magic, become adventurers and hunt down monsters, clearing dungeons and rising to fame.
These people also have a chance to enroll into academies, though its more difficult for them as magic is a big part of an academy's academics.
The kingdom of Ashheart, valued power. What they most desired was Talents, the gifts of the gods. When a child is discovered to own a talent, they get Appraised and discover what rank their talent is. The higher the Talent, the higher your place in society.
Additionally, when you reach the age of 15 with your magical attribute, you are able to join a academy that will help nurture your true abilities. Though some academies are really hard to get into, because most of them want prodigies and Talented students.
The young girl hugged Chris tighly as she snuggled against his chest, Chris smiled as he returned the hug "What's up? You look really happy today." Chris said.
The girl looked up at him, her eyes beaming as she spoke "Oh, that's because i turned 7 today!" She giggled, still holding him tightly.
"Really now? Happy birthday Mia." Chris congratulated her, rubbing her head gently, making her giggle. Though internally, he felt a bit uncomfortable, since he still has the mentality of a high school teenager.
Mia was the child of the village lord, in other words the princess of this little village. Wherever she went she always brought a smile to people's faces, making her a treasure the people of this small home valued deeply.
"Hey!" A voice shouted from a distance, belonging to that of a bratty kid "Get your hands off my sister!" The kid yelled as he walked up to Chris, his eyes narrowing in anger.
'Ahh, great.' Chris said sarcastically to himself, rolling his eyes as he let out a scoff.
This young brat was Mia's brother, or better yet, Chris's bully. He was always jealous of Chris for getting all of Mia's attention, even though he was her brother she would always flock to Chris due to his handsome features and kind attitude.
"Stop it Jack!" Mia yelled as she stood between her brother and Chris, spreading her arms as to protect Chris. "You always do this, why don't you leave him alone!"
Jack laughed, amused by his sister's will to protect Chris."Aw my cute sister, why don't you step out of this? Brother's gotta talk to him for a bit." As he gently pushed her to the side.
He walked up to Chris, staring into his eyes with anger and hatred. But Chris didn't back down, he stared right back, locking their eyes in a fierce duel of dominance.
"Y'know i've had it with you, can't keep getting enough of my sister, can you?" He asked, his voice dripping with malice. A strong magical energy eminated off of him, making his body glow with a faint blue-ish hue.
Jack was one of the special children, able to awaken his magical abilities. He was a year older than Chris, and much stronger at that. He had awakened the affinity for water magic, though it wasn't very potent it was still very strong.
There are four categories when it comes to determining an awakened one's potential: Low, Medium, High, and Legendary.
Jack was at the Low tier, the bottom of the four. Making his potential to grow strong in that aspect, very weak. The higher your tier was in your awakening status, the stronger your magic and growth potential.
"What's wrong? You sound awfully jealous right now." Chris teased, a small smirk on his face. He couldn't rely on Misha anymore, though he still promised himself to find her, he must man-up and be able to defend himself.
Although, he knew there was no way of winning against Jack at the moment until he awakened his own magical attribute.
Jack sneered at his remark, a vein popping at the side of his forehead "Oh, you asked for it." He said as he pulled back his fist, trickles of water spinning around it as he prepared to punch Chris.
Chris flinched at the coming attack, he tried to jump back to avoid it, but it was too late, Jack swung his fist and punched Cain hard in the stomach, a loud splash eminated from the blow as Chris was sent flying back.
"Chris!" Mia called in concern as she ran up to him. Tears forming in her eyes as she knelt beside him, trying to help him up.
Jack laughed as he strided off, feeling a sense of accomplishment. He was the strongest kid in their village, only bested by his father, the village lord.
Chris coughed up blood as he tried to get a hold of his breath, barely managing to stand. He knew his ribs must've been hurt pretty badly as he was finding it difficult to breathe, Mia stood by him helping him up. She felt a strong pang of guilt as Chris got hurt because of her.
"I'm sorry.." Mia apologized, tears flowing from her eyes as she began crying. "It's all my fault...sob..you got hurt because of me..sob" She cried.
Chris blinked but soon managed a small smile, he placed a hand on Mia's head and patted her "Hey, it's not your fault, don't blame yourself okay? Today is your birthday and i don't you to feel sad on such a special day." He said barely.
Mia's teary eyes shined with adoration as she looked at Chris, she nodded still feeling guilty but pushing it aside for now "Let's get you home, you need to rest." Mia suggested as she helped him walk.
'Soon,' Chris promised as he placed a hand on his ribs, a wicked grin on his face as his eyes shined with vengeance 'Just a few more days, and i'll make you pay for this, you bastard!' He made a silent promised to Jack.

Inside a giant mansion with decorated luxury a young beautiful girl roamed the halls, engrossed in a book with knowledge about the world. Her eyes sparkled as she continued to read, the knowledge of the world filling her mind with wonder.
"You still reading that book? Liora?" A voice called from behind, making the girl jump in suprise as she turned around to face the man.
The young girl bowed her head and lifted her dress slightly, "Good morning, father." She said in a graceful manner, though beneath that grace was something foul and dark.
The man smiled, stroking his jawline. He was the duke of the Rohart Family, the top inside the estate of the Royal Capital. "Have you finished your sword lessons with the instructor?" He asked, a bit of autority behind his voice.
Liora nodded calmly, "Yes father, i've finished all my lessons for today. Now im just relaxing for a while." She said, flashing a smile, though inside she hated doing that, wanting only to smile for one special person she had to find in this life.
The duke laughed, amazed by his daughters skill "Great, that's just amazing! Remember to keep up your training, i don't want you to fall behind your brothers." He said as he waved his hand dismissing her.
Liora bowed as she excused herself and continued to walk down the hallway. 'Stupid old man, who does he think he is, ordering me around like this?' She thought as she gritted her teeth.
'Sigh..Oh Cain, where are you?' She thought as she walked towards her bedroom, swinging the door wide open.
This was Misha, reincarnated as Liora. She grew up in this mansion until now, always pampered and worshipped by her maids. She read alot of books and got to know alot about the world in her time, the language of this world was different, but it still sounded like english, making her wonder why that is.
She walked into her room, the luxurious warmth of her bed calling onto her. Her muscles ached from all the sword practice she got, though in her previous life she was a skilled martial artist and was a natural when it comes to fighting.
But she didn't have her old body anymore and she was relatively knew to swordsmanship. With tired limbs she flopped onto the bed, snuggling into the sheets of her bed, too tired to change out of her clothing.
'Just a few more days..' She thought, looking at her palms and clenching it 'Then i'll be able to awaken.'
She closed her eyes and slowly started drifting off to sleep, today's exhaustion catching up to her relatively quickly.
