Liora walked closely behind Lisa as they sneaked past the guards. Lisa had used a spell that concealed their presence. Right now, it looked like a small fog was surrounding the mansion grounds, though it wasn't too heavy as you could still see the shadows of other people.
"We're almost there," Lisa whispered to Liora, sneaking behind some neatly cut bushes that looked really beautiful, leaves adorned with a strong green that shone with life.
After a few seconds of sneaking around, they arrived at a secluded area with no guards present and where the fog was most dense. Lisa turned back to look at Liora. "We're here," Lisa said under her breath.
Liora raised an eyebrow as she looked around in confusion. "What's here? All I can see is the giant wall surrounding the mansion." Liora said, her voice soft.
Lisa chuckled a bit, her eyes gleaming with amusement. "Exactly, you're going to go over this wall," Lisa instructed.
"You can't be serious. You do know that I can't scale that wall with my puny size, right? Are you messing with me?" Liora hissed, her eyes narrowing in anger.
Lisa smiled, then shook her head. "No, of course not. Instead," Lisa began as she snapped her fingers, a small water platform materialising from her magic. "I'm going to lift you over with this; just get on and I'll carry you over."
Liora's eyes widened for a moment, a bit surprised by Lisa's solution. But she didn't question it and nodded in understanding. She then slowly walked toward the water platform and jumped onto it.
Her feet landed on the platform gracefully as a small splash sound came from it, though to Liora the platform felt very hard; even if it looked like it would break at any moment.
"Good, now stay still; I don't want you falling off and hurting yourself," Lisa said as she slowly began to lift Liora into the air.
Liora's body tensed up as she gulped nervously, watching herself slowly being carried upwards. Liora was then transported to the other side of the wall and into the capital; the water platform then vanished when it reached a low ground, turning into water and falling down with a resounding splash.
Liora fell to the ground and landed on her feet, her chest puffed as she took a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief. The weight of getting caught finally lifted off her shoulders, making her feel more confident and providing a sense of safety.
Liora then straightened her posture, her expression hardening as determination flowed through her. She glanced back at the mansion, towering over her with an unsettling aura. She wanted to leave this place very badly, but she knew that would end very badly as it did the first time.
The thought of returning to this house disgusted her; she hated this place with every fibre of her being. She still hasn't forgotten the promise she made to herself—to kill her arsehole of a father and eventually reunite with Cain (Chris).
Liora sighed as she knew that she was still too weak to even put a scratch on her father, so now was the time to start levelling up and gathering some powerful allies.
Liora then proceeded to walk into the capital; the streets were quiet as the wind blew a chilling breeze. The moon was still hung high in the sky, adorned with stars that shone like bright jewels. The path she was dreading was a dangerous one, but she had to go through with it.
-------
Lisa stared at the mansion's walls for a second, a smile forming on her face. She felt a strong warmth in her heart, feeling proud of helping her sister. Though she still had doubts about whether Liora would be okay, she decided to push them away and have faith in the abilities of her sister.
Lisa then began to sneak back into the mansion, moving like a blur as she jumped high into Liora's room through her window. A nearby guard heard a noise and turned his head to where Lisa was. Slowly he scanned the area and found nothing, so he decided to continue with what he was doing earlier.
Lisa glanced behind her as she observed the guards go on about their business. She then began walking out of Liora's room, closing the door behind her as she returned to her quarters.
-----
Liora navigated through the town square and approached the two guards standing at the gate. One of the guards looked at her but remained silent, only narrowing his eyes in suspicion.
"I'd like to leave the capital," Liora said as she took out her small pouch and took out a few coins, holding them open in her palm as she offered them to them.
The guard shot a glance at his partner and received a nod. He then turned back to Liora and took the coins from her hand. "Very well," he said as he stepped aside for Liora to leave.
Liora smiled as she immediately ran past them and into the night. Her boots were pounding softly on the dirt road as she made her way to a nearby hunting ground.
After a few minutes of running, Liora was panting and tired as she held onto her legs for support. "Pant...pant..I'm here." Liora muttered to herself as she was standing on a rich green plain, ahead of which her small, cute blobs of blue could be seen jumping around.
They were the weakest of monsters, Slimes. This area was a good spot to find a lot of these monsters; they were very weak and reproduced very quickly.
New Adventurers would recommend this place as a way to test your skills and make quick money. The values of slime weren't very high as they weren't a good alchemical and culinary ingredient.
Liora unsheathed her practice sword, gripping it tightly in her small hands. She wasn't scared of these small creatures, as she was pretty confident in her fighting abilities, even if she was very weak in this body.
One of the slimes noticed her, turning around with a weird sloshing sound. Liora's body tensed up briefly, getting into a sword stance and preparing to attack. The slime then shot forward and began to charge at her with wild speeds.
'Here it comes...get ready...' Liora instructed herself in her mind, watching the slime rushing towards her.
The slime then leapt towards her, prepared to crash its body into her. 'Now!' Liora yelled in her mind as she slashed her sword in a clean vertical cut, slicing the slime in two.
[Liora has slain a slime! +1 Exp(x10) +2 Beast Points(x10)] The system sounded in her mind.
'Yes!' Liora yelled inwardly in delight, a beaming smile on her face. She then looked in the direction of the other slimes and slowly began to approach them, with her sword dragging into the ground. Her eyes were shining with a predatory glint.
