Experiment 012: The Effect of Seeing the Near Future vs. the Distant Future
Objective: To explore the differences in how individuals react to seeing a near future (within 1-5 years) versus a distant future (10-20 years) through SCP-699.
Procedure:
Select individuals: Select a group of volunteers.
Experiment: The individuals will enter SCP-699 and be shown two versions of their future: one in the near term and one in the distant future.
Observation: Record how individuals react to the outcomes of their near future versus their distant future and observe any psychological effects upon returning.
Results:
Individuals tend to feel more anxious when witnessing their near future, as they perceive that their current decisions will soon impact them.
The distant future often evoked a sense of uncertainty but also provided hope or fear depending on the individual's life situation.
Some individuals felt more prepared for the near future based on what they saw, while the distant future left them feeling more uncertain.
