Mikael waited in the car as he went through the information that the system provided him about the two Female Supporting Characters.
When he had generated the Annual Tasks in the morning, which were all related to his needs and requirements, and designed to help him out, he received three of them.
The First Annual Task was about recruiting the Supporting Character, James Anderson, an Accounting Genius, who was supposed to become the future right-hand man of an unnamed Son of Luck.
The Second Annual Task was about recruiting a Female Supporting Character, Zhang Min-Jin, a Fashion Genius, supposed to become the lover of an unnamed Son of Destiny.
The Third Annual Task was about recruiting another Female Supporting Character, Alison Woods, a Business Management Genius, who was supposed to become a future Villainess and die at the hands of an unnamed Child of Destiny.
Mikael recognised the name Zhang Min-Jin, who was going to start her Senior Year at the School of Arts in the Imperial University. She was quite a beauty and famous on campus. Anaiah had once mentioned her name too. And he had also seen her at a party where the Alumni were invited.
He remembered that she was on the Student Council that arranged the event.
As for this Alison Woods, he had never heard of her before.
However, the System information said that she was a childhood friend of Zhang Min-Jin, and currently, they were neighbours. This meant that she was also from a very humble background.
He thought for a while and then dialled a number.
"Mikael!" An excited girl answered the call.
"How are you, Ruby?"
"I am fine," She coquettishly answered. "Tell me, how did you remember me today?"
"I need the number of a girl. She's studying Fashion Designing at the School of Art."
"I see," She clearly seemed displeased but knew that she could not refuse him. "What's her name?"
"Zhang Min-Jin. Send me her number and I will send you a gift in the evening."
"Okay!" Hearing that he would send her a gift, her mood immediately brightened.
The call ended, and only five minutes later, he received a message from Ruby.
"Do you like it?" He sent her a picture of a handbag from a very famous luxury brand, and she instantly sent him a string of heart-eye emojis. "Hahaha... Okay, you will receive it in the evening. Take care."
"You are the best!"
He did not bother replying to her again, and immediately dialled the number he had just received.
"Hello."
"Zhang Min-Jin?"
"Yes. Who's this?"
"Mikael Zarayne."
There was no reply from her for a few seconds.
"Let's talk on the messenger." She said, and he could tell that there were people around her right now.
It was quite noisy, and her friends were insisting that she end the call and chat with them.
"Alright." The call ended and he immediately sent her a message on the messenger.
"Let's have a chat at the Moonlight Cafe. I will be waiting for you there at 4 pm. It's about a job offer."
"Is it really Mikael?"
"Yes."
"Send me a selfie." She demanded, and he immediately opened the camera, took off his sunglasses, and smiled as he captured a picture and sent it to her.
There was no reply for a minute.
"I will be there. Take care." She answered and then sent him a Friend Request, which he accepted.
He quickly checked his profile and saw that there was someone viewing it at the moment, and he chuckled to himself.
Closing his phone, he leaned back in his seat, and his mind drifted to some thoughts.
10 minutes before 4 pm, a silver AMG arrived in the parking lot of Moonlight Cafe.
The door opened, and a black umbrella came out first, and under the pouring rain, a handsome young man stepped out of the vehicle.
"Welcome, Sir!" The two guards at the cafe bowed to him and then accepted the Umbrella from his hands.
Even though they did not recognise him, since he was wearing a flat cap and his dark glasses, they saw him get out of a high-end car, so he was, at least, a well-off person in their eyes if not some super-rich Young Master.
Walking inside, he walked towards the table in the corner, next to the glass wall, which provided a good view of the outside.
As soon as he took a seat, a waitress came over and picked up the "Reserved" sign from the table.
She did not even ask him about the name that he had booked the table under and handed him the tablet which contained their menu.
"Place another one here. I am expecting someone and we will order after she arrives."
"Yes, Sir." The blonde waitress politely smiled at him and then placed another tablet on the table before taking her leave.
Seeing that there were five minutes in the appointment time, he leaned back in the sofa seat and closed his eyes.
His eyes opened when he heard someone place something on the table, and before looking at her, he checked the time on the clock.
It was quarter past four.
"I am sorry, the taxi got delayed due to the traffic and rain." The girl apologised to him, in a very feminine and effortlessly charming voice.
Mikael smiled as he stood up, and then met Zhang Min-Jin's eyes.
For a moment, he was surprised at how beautiful she was.
He had played with his fair share of Oriental Beauties, the finest of them, and the girl before him, who was a couple of months shy of her 20th birthday, put them all to shame.
"Mikael."
"Min-Jin." She smiled back as she shook hands with him, and he was quite impressed by her.
The girl knew that she was beautiful and did not need to put any serious effort into looking good.
She was wearing a white shirt too, a brown woollen scarf around her neck, blue jeans, and boots.
It was a simple outfit, loose on her body, just the way he liked it, and she sat down as soon as their hands separated.
"Please." He gestured for her to order whatever she wanted and then picked up the tablet on his side to place his own order.
It only took them a couple of minutes before they placed the tablets aside and looked at each other again.
"Sunglasses? Indoors?" She smiled, and he reflected it back to her.
"I don't want to take them off. It might prove inconvenient for you. Rumours flow around very fast when they concern me."
"I don't mind." She told him, wearing a sweet smile, and he slowly took off the cap and the glasses, allowing her to take a careful look at him.
Thankfully, the slap mark had disappeared overnight, and he looked as handsome as ever.
After staring at him for several seconds, she lowered her eyes with a slight blush.
"You said you had a job for me?"
"Yes." He nodded to her and then proceeded to tell her about his new Fashion and Lifestyle Company. "I intend to recruit you as the Chief Fashion Designer, and you will design our Signature Brands."
"I have not even graduated yet, Mr Mikael." She lightly said, quite amused.
"You are talented, and that's all that matters."
"Just that?" She asked, with three points of expectancy and seven points of curiosity.
Mikael looked into her hazel eyes and then smiled some more.
The waitress interrupted their unvoiced conversation, and soon she put down the coffees and slices of cake that they had ordered.
Both of them then silently sipped their coffees and tasted their cheesecakes, and it seemed like they would not say anything again.
"I am married." He suddenly told her, and she surprisedly looked at him. "And I have two wives."
"I see." She soon recovered and then frowned as she tasted a spoonful of her cake.
It was not until she finished the slice and picked up the coffee again that she said something, and what she said, caught Mikael off-guard.
"Do you desire me?"
He curiously looked at her and was not willing to lie about it. He did desire her, but he was not going to admit it either.
Min-Jin, however, happily smiled at his refusal to answer her question.
"Well, Mr Mikael, I have always had a dream. Wealth, a lot of wealth, all the luxuries out there, travelling around the world, and a child. I don't desire a life of hard work. Honestly, I hate it when I have to work hard on something."
"I see." He chuckled at her words. "I am sure things can be arranged."
She nodded to his words in relief.
"I will sell myself to you for life. I will stay as your lover and not demand a status. I am not really interested in a job. All I want is to find myself a man who can take care of me for life." She informed him, getting straight to the point. "If you can accept me, I do not mind helping my husband. I will accept the position of the Chief Designer of your company. However, I hope that I will not have to come to the office more than twice a week."
Mikael curiously looked at her with a smile.
"Have you been with someone before?"
"No. I am a virgin." She told him, and he knew that she was telling the truth.
The System had already verified it.
"What are your requirements?"
"A house, a car, a handsome weekly pocket money, and your time. If possible, I would like to spend, at least, one day with you every week."
"That's it?"
"It's life, Mr Mikael. It would be unreasonable of me to demand anything more. Neither you nor I would be able to keep all the promises."
"That's true." He smiled and shook his head. "And the job?"
"It doesn't matter if you pay me for it or not. I will help my husband when he needs my help. Of course, as long as it isn't something unreasonable."
"For example?"
"Once I am yours, I wish to stay yours, Mr Mikael. I know people in your circle like sharing their women. I do not wish to become a girl whom you sell out for benefits."
His face darkened at her words, and seeing the sudden coldness in his eyes, she became nervous.
"That's quite prejudiced of you, but I know it's all because you don't know much about my circle. However, you are right. Some men act as pimps, but I am sure they are not limited to the part of society where I belong." He lightly smiled. "Rest assured, I will not mistreat you. And keep in mind that once you give yourself to me, there will be no escape for you except for death."
She frowned at his words, recalling the rumours she had heard about him.
"All those rumours out there about me, they are mostly true." He smiled at her, reading through her thoughts, and her body trembled under his words.
