"Where are we going?" Klara, who was still keeping calm, asked as she found them entering the city again, and Mikael was now in the front seat with them.
"The Marriage Bureau," He told her, and she froze at his words.
Raeya had gone quiet after signing the Prenuptial Agreement, and she had not spoken a word since.
Her eyes seemed lost, and her body was quivering from time to time. As her twin, Klara knew that some dangerous thoughts were crossing her sister's mind, and she was growing more and more worried.
She comfortingly grabbed her hand, wiped away the tears that escaped her eyes, and waited patiently to reach their destination.
When they finally arrived at the Marriage Bureau, it was 4 pm, but due to the weather, there was no one around. Strangely enough, there were no guards there as well, but once she entered the building, she saw more of Mikael's men stationed there.
Her last hope vaporised when they entered the Magistrate's Office, and the man respectfully stood up to bow to the Young Zarayne.
"Master Mikael!" The old man enthusiastically greeted him and then engaged in a perfunctory conversation before getting to business.
As per the procedure, he asked both the brides the relevant questions, and when they both said yes to the marriage, he approved their Prenuptial Agreements and handed them the Marriage Certificates to sign.
Klara frowned when she found the signatures of two of their friends from class on the certificate as the witnesses, which told her that everything had long been prepared.
When they watched Mikael sign each of the certificates, they started feeling even more cold, and then Klara had to stand up and smile at the Camera as they took their pictures.
Raeya stayed seated when he called out to her for their turn, and seeing her behaviour, he stepped forward and grabbed her arm, guided her to her feet and pulled her with him to stand by his side.
"Smile," he told her, and she sent him a glare but eventually smiled.
"Let our brother go now," The younger twin requested him when they left the Marriage Bureau with their copies of the Marriage Certificates.
"He's fine and will not be harmed. I will let him go in a while," Mikael lightly replied and then asked then to enter the car with him.
Again, they did not know where they were going, but she was surprised when he handed her a cell phone.
It was her phone.
"Call someone in your family and tell them that you will be staying at a friend's place tonight. No words more, no words less. Understood?" He said to her, and she immediately understood where they were going now.
"Hello, Mama..."
During the brief call, she really debated if she should send a signal or reveal something, but hesitated. Not just because of what Mikael was doing to her, but because she had her own reasons.
After the call ended, her brows furrowed, and she realised two things.
Her family was seemingly not aware of their disappearance, and her body trembled as she looked at him in fear.
"What did you do to our driver and the three guards?"
"Nothing. They are my men whom I planted on your side." He told her with a smile, and her mind immediately went blank.
"The people... the restaurant..."
"My place, and hired actors."
With every second, she was growing more fearful of him, and her heart trembled when she met those grey eyes again.
"How's everything going in your new company? When do you plan to launch your first product?" He changed the subject and curiously asked, but she did not answer him.
Something told her that he was already aware of everything, and her heart felt even more restless.
"You are my wife now, Klara. I would never harm your business." He assured her and then turned quiet, looking outside at the city, where there were no signs that the rain would stop anytime soon.
The vehicles following them left the line one by one, and in the end, only their car entered the new high-end residential town. Soon, they entered the gate of the ninth Villa.
"Come, I will show you around." Mikael opened the door for them when they got out of the vehicle, inside the underground parking lot, and the first thing Klara noticed were more than a dozen sports cars that were parked there.
Fond of luxury cars as well, she immediately spotted some limited editions, which even she could not obtain with all her family wealth.
She knew that his family was not as rich as her family, but still rich enough. She also knew that the Zarayne Family was older and held a lot of power. They were Nobles.
Powerful men did not need to buy some things. There were always people willing to give them gifts.
Not to mention, Mikael's Father was a retired Brigadier General of the Royal Army of Dragonia, the current Overlord of Underground Forces of Sylvor City. He was quite a notorious man in their circle, having taken command of the Underground Forces after the death of his younger brother, and having every police officer on his payroll.
As for Mikael's mother, she was the fourth daughter of a wealthy family from the Royal Capital, a very talented and cutthroat businesswoman, someone Klara admired a lot. She alone was at the helm of the Zarayne Family's Ravenstein Conglomerate, and in recent years, it had prospered a lot.
Mikael had a brother as well, seven years older than him, and he was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Army, a batchmate of her maternal cousin, who too was a Lieutenant Colonel.
And then there was his Grandfather...
"You don't live in your Family Manor?" She did not know why she suddenly asked this question, but he answered her with a shake of his head.
"No. I left home after an argument with my father." He did not tell her what the argument was about, and neither did she ask.
The three sat down at the dining table and had supper after a quick tour of the ground floor, and despite everything that happened today, the sisters found themselves very hungry.
They silently consumed their meal, not touching the white wine, and unlike Raeya, Klara paid a lot of attention to Mikael.
She noticed that there was no trace of anticipation or lust in his eyes, and he did not even glance at them. All this made her question his motives.
And she glanced at her sister from time to time as well.
She remembered that Raeya and Mikael had started dating four years ago, a relationship that lasted for three months that no one other than she was aware of.
And she also knew why they broke up.
They had caught him in bed with a singer after a party, and Raeya had never forgiven him for that betrayal.
She never accepted his apologies, because he offered none, and when they learned more about him from people in their circle, she started hating him even more.
At one point, Raeya had even considered contacting their Master and Senior Sisters to kill Mikael, but in the end, she never mustered up the courage to take that call.
But now, she had a hunch that he would die a mysterious death after what he did to them today.
Towards the end of the meal, his phone suddenly vibrated, and he wiped his mouth and hands before picking it up and leaving the room.
"Raeya..."
"He will die," The younger Albonn coldly said, and her words made Klara frown.
She did not say anything as she did not like the man, and she was sure that she would hate him after what he planned on doing to them later.
However, there was something that worried her, and she was not sure how she should bring it up with Raeya.
The twins noticed that there were only three old maids in the house and no guard, and being aware of his possessiveness and controlling nature, they knew that he would never allow a man, unless a close relative, to live under the same roof as them.
An hour passed by, but he did not appear again, and they subconsciously started looking around the house.
Only the Study was locked, and they guessed that he was inside.
Klara prayed that he would remain inside the room for the rest of the night, and then followed her sister, who had stopped next to the landline phone in the lounge.
She did not stop her as she picked it up and started dialling the number, but Raeya could not bring herself to press the button to start the call.
"Why?" She lightly asked and watched her sister frown.
"He still has Stephen in his hands." Her twin answered and then turned to walk upstairs, to the room that was connected to Mikael's Room, but Klara knew exactly why her sister did not make that call.
Silently, she followed Raeya to the room, and she found her curling up in the bed and sobbing.
"Why does he always hurt me... why?" She asked, and her pain clenched Klara's heart.
A couple of hours later, they finally heard a knock on their door, and then Mikael entered the room without waiting for an answer.
"If you feel hungry, you can find food in the kitchen or wake up Aunt Lu. There are clothes in the cupboards," he pointed towards the dressing room, "all fresh, and you can freshen up and sleep here or take any other room."
As soon as they heard his words, they froze, and Klara looked at him with complicated eyes.
"You are my wives, not my slaves. I am not going to force myself on you without your consent." He assured her and then furrowed his brows as he looked at Raeya.
She clearly saw him hesitating, but then he walked over to pull her sister's chin up, making her look him in the eyes.
He wanted to say something to her, but he did not, and after planting a kiss on her forehead, he walked out of the room.
"My father has learned about our marriage, and I have been called to the Manor tomorrow. Your family will learn about it in the morning, and you can leave afterwards. You will receive your cell phones, and a guard will remain by your side. I have assigned Marla and Sarah to you two. They are both Aurors in the Fifth Profound Realm. They won't disturb your daily lives, and will listen to your orders." He turned to look at them again. "They have been assigned to protect you, nothing else."
"My brother?" Klara asked, and he smiled at her.
"I never kidnapped him." He playfully told her and laughed at how her eyes widened at his words.
"What?!"
"Sorry." He was not sorry at all. "Good night!"
"Mikael!!!" Raeya's angry roar rocked the entire Villa, and the Young Zarayne brisked into his room, closing the door behind him.
After freshening up and changing into his night clothes, he debated if he should lock the door of the dressing room as well since both the Bedrooms were connected through it, but left it unlocked.
And then he slumped into his bed after a tiring day and contacted the System in his mind.
