Past the gate is a new world untouched by the outside world. A mix between heaven and the grounded reality of the earth. It was as if stepping into the border of heaven and earth. The residents here stands above the normal humans, but still bow their heads to the gods.
Infront of the six, a typical fountain of water that resembles the high status of the residents here stands as a symbol of strength. Behind it, a six-story building towers over the fountain. Made from marble and decorated with pillars and complimentary colors. Multiple rows of windows spaced out evenly on each floor.
On the roof, multiple towers are set. With noticeable differences in design. One had a gryphon statue resting on the cone-like roof. And another, a balcony with multiple telescopes set to view the constellations.
Around the building, are open fields with multiple different buildings for different purposes. A cafeteria in the far right. What appears to be a gymnasium on the left. And farther to the left, a large building with multiple towers with cone-like roofs. Set to be the Library for studying.
In the open space, lays trees that stands to provide shade to their masters. Lunch tables and open blankets for in-school picnics lay scattered across the ground. It seemed as if people had left in a hurry to catch up on their lessons as they had started.
Elyssia leads the rest through the front gate. Pushing it open to reveal an empty and wide hallway. Filled with luxurious paintings and decorations. The floor was made of smooth marble. Screaming privileged life. Elyssia took a quick right.
They moved past multiple doors and taking a left at the end of the hallway and moved up a circular flight of stairs. On top, a closed wooden door engraved with beautiful art pulses golden with every passing second.
"This is the headmasters door." Elyssia sighed, "He requested you three alone. Rovanne, Matthew, go back to class. I'll wait here for them."
The two saluted their leader, "Yes Ma'am!" They scurried back down the stairs.Elyssia turned back around and placed her hand on the door, she took a deep breath before muttering a single word, "Ltavhol..." The door pulsed brighter for a single second. Before slowly returning to normal.
"Did he change the passwords?! Ugh! Damnit Lucas!" Elyssia banged on the door.
"Is Lucas the headmaster? or a student?" Donovan asked.
"Student...If you want to be part of the security force, Lucas will be the name you dread." Elyssia said.
The door suddenly creaks open. Leading into the room of the headmaster. Elyssia breathed out a sigh of relief and turned away from the door, "Finally...Go ahead. I'll be waiting."
The three boys moved past the door. It shut itself right after they went past it. A stone stairway leads up to a desk infront of them. The smell of a sweet orange scent mixed with the scent of strawberry fills the air of the office. Wooden walls all around the room are occupied with selves filled with books, paintings, or sculptures of past headmasters. Even if this school was two thousand years old, there has been only four headmasters in the entire history.
A second floor resides above the wooden walls. With more stairs leading up to that area off to the side. Stained glass windows let in a colorful array of colors into the office. In the air, multiple creatures flies around in a circle; birds, owls, and even some mythical creatures, like an Arhon who resembles a mix with a dove and sparrow together with golden wings. A personal favorite of Donovan.
A table resides in the center of everything, right under a ticking clock. Three chairs set infront of the table, and on the other side lays one fancy chair, and a singular normal one. Next to the fancy table, a boy resides by the shadows. Samuel immediately spotted him as they entered the office. Yet the headmaster was nowhere to be seen.
"Just a second!" A voice shouts from somewhere, "Please sit down! All four of you!"
The boy in the shadows quietly left his hiding spot. Before he took a seat next to the fancy chair. The other three sat down across from him. Donovan whistled a quiet and familiar whistle to Samuel. And he knew what he wanted. The whistle is a signal to find information about this boy. Samuel tried his hardest, but right now there's not much to find out about him. Apart from the boy being in a state of quiet contemplation. He can't figure out anything. But he is intrigued by the boy's appearance.
A sort of natural pale face accompanies golden eyes. With black hair in the style of what people called a wolfcut if Samuel can remember. He dons a black tailcoat with white lining under it. Golden embroidery moves down from the neck area and branched off to the cuffs on the hand and all the way down the split. An aura of raw green magic envelops the boy. It's small, but Samuel knows that there's possibly more to it. Just as he was focusing on the boy, someone slumped themselves against the fancy chair.
"Well. Sorry for the wait, and the door. I had to manually activate it since Lucas changed the code." The man chuckled, "Silly little Lucas."
Samuel can see the similarity between the headmaster and the boy next to him. The golden eyes and similar face shape. But the headmaster's skin is far paler than the boy with grey hair instead of black.
"Donovan, Gary, and Samuel, welcome to the S-class regiment. Now, I hope you understand the weight of the situation now. Putting you three into S-class is a big risk. The same thing can be said for you. Students here won't take kindly to your appearance."
"We full well know that, Headmaster Avshino." Donovan answered, "But I'm sure we can handle them."
"You haven't seen them. I saw that Gary here fought with Matthew. And you seen what he can do." He replied.
Gary scoffed, "I didn't try at all. But he did surprise me with how he fought back."
"Is your head okay?" The headmaster asked.
"It should have healed by now. So yeah. It's fine now."
"That's a relief. Now, it will be hard to do so, but please try and live a proper school life. I know you shouldn't forget about the red hand and your mission, just enjoy your time. We don't know what the future can hold for us."
"What do you mean by that?"
"Study, don't attack other students unprovoked, don't vandalize anything, and try not to get caught in your mission. There will be more dire consequences if that occurred. And as I said, the students here are no pushover. They are and will be a big problem to deal with."
Samuel raised his hand, but The headmaster told him not to raise it. And just ask anyways, "Are we okay with talking about all this with...Him listening to us?" Samuel pointed at the boy next to the headmaster.
The boy raised his head and stared at the other three from under his eyebrows, "Ah yes! I forgot to mention. This is my great-something times twenty or what grandson! His name is Aziroth! But you can call him Azzy. And he'll be assisting you with your mission from now on."
The three were appalled by this, "Huh-? We can't just bring a random student with us-"
"Hanlerk requested him to join you personally."
The three immediately shut up with the mention of Hanlerk. Aziroth sighed and stood up, "Can I go now? Introductions are done. I want to go back to the library."
"Now hold on!" The headmaster held up his finger, "I heard also heard that you three would want to join the security team, right?"
"How the hell did you know?" Donovan asked.
"I have my ways. Anyway, I'll request Elyssia to let you in, And Aziroth, can you please join-"
"No." Aziroth quickly stood up and walked out the office. Taking his books from a shelf as he does. Before disappearing from view.
"Welp. There he goes." Gary chuckled.
"Ah. Well. The security team should give you some privilege to roam around the area without suspicion from the teachers. As well as give you access to some certain 'toys' Elyssia would show you. I just ask for you to please try and bring Aziroth alongside with you in the team."
Samuel scratched his head, "I fear he would rat on us-"
"He won't. He might be stubborn, but he's loyal if you get him to respect you. Which is the hard part." The headmaster said.
"Well. We'll try." Donovan stretched, "Is that all?"
"Yes. It is. Just note that you are a bit behind classes but that's alright, we'll provide books for the three of you if you want. I'll send it to your dorm room."
The three stood up, giving a bow to the headmaster, "Thank you headmaster. We'll continue to...complete our mission. We'll give you a heads up when we find something interesting." Donovan said."
Alright. And one more thing, do try your best to stay out of trouble. it's a hassle trying to keep you in school."
"I can't promise that!" Gary shouted back as they exit through the door. The headmaster gives them a small wave as they leave. He had hoped that Hanlerk really did live up to his word. These three were the perfect kids to use for the mission. From the looks of it, he slightly doubts it.
The three meet up with Elyssia, who was reading a book about ancient magic, "Ah, there you are. Everything went well? Did he scold you?"
"Far from it." Samuel answered, "He just gave us some rules to follow."
"Well, you better stick to it." Elyssia closed her book, "Or I'll pay you a visit. Anyways, follow me. I'll lead you to your classes."
The three followed Elyssia down the stairs and into the hallway. Moving forward and then taking a right. Leading down a tall hallway across multiple wooden doors with signs next to them. Corresponding to each lesson; math, English, magic, science. All that one would usually see in a normal school.
Elyssia stopped by the magic door and turned to the other three, "Here. This is your lesson for this period."
"And what about you? Where'd you go?" Donovan asked.
"Why do you care?"
"Just curious." Donovan gave her a cheeky smile. She observed his eyes for a moment, his blue eyes were almost empty, but there was small light emanating from within. But Elyssia dismissed this fact.
"Just go in. Be wary of this lot. they're a bit...Wild." Elyssia started to walk away, "I'll reconsider your request for the security team. But I'll see you later."
"Bye!" Samuel waved her off. She replied with a half hearted hand raise. The three turned to the door. They can hear the teacher going on with his lecture as normal from the other side of the door. Surely it would be fine. Elyssia might have been wrong about the students being 'wild' They seem calm to them.
"Ready to meet our new classmates?" Donovan asked his friends.
"Bit nervous..." Samuel mentioned.Gary wrapped his arms around Samuel, "Don't be man. They're nothing compared to us. Plus, you got us."
"It's true. Say, why don't you go in first Sammy? Take a good look at the room." Donovan suggested while performing a bow and holding his hand out for the door.
"Alright then..."
Samuel walked up to the door carefully. Before gripping the door handle and pushing it open. No teacher is in sight. But the classroom is quiet. Patiently waiting for someone. No chaos is occurring inside.
"Huh. Will you look at that? There's nothi-"
Samuel's eyes flickered to his left, and he turned around. Witnessing a spear hurling in the air. With intent to pierce Samuel's skull.
