We walked along the road to Nemea, passing through rows of olive trees filled with ripe fruit. Every time we took a step, small clouds of golden dust rose from the ground under our feet. I kept thinking about how differently we had handled things, and I could feel the special cloak on my shoulders. It felt almost alive as it moved against my skin. When the sun shone through the leaves, the cloak caught the light and made pretty patterns on the old stone walls along the path.
"Do you think they'll be okay with what we did?" I askedIolaus, reaching up to touch the cloak because I felt nervous.
"I mean, we did solve their lion problem, and we have this cloak to prove it." In my head, I was already thinking of ways to explain why we did things differently than expected.
