"Can you drive?" asked Nate after breaking into a black sedan parked in the basement.
"I can drive, but ... I don't have a driver's license," Noel replied as he put the key in the ignition.
"We don't need it."
Noel was silent.
"What are you waiting for, start the car!"
Noel started the engine and stepped on the gas pedal. The sedan sped out of the basement parking lot and onto the highway. Nate thought Noel was a pretty good driver until Noel braked suddenly. As a result, his forehead hit the steering wheel.
"Idiot, can you drive or not?" His thoughts about Noel being a pretty good driver were gone.
"I haven't driven in a long time."
A rough chuckle echoed in Noel's mind.
Nate snapped, "We don't have time for you to get good at driving, so just get the car running."
"What if we get a ticket?" Noel said. After all, he remembered not to deal with security.
"Shit Noel, what cop would ticket someone on a cold night like this?" Nate emphasized each word.
Without answering back or even asking a question, Noel put Nate's stolen car back into motion. Stealing the car was one hundred percent Nate's idea. This time Noel drove better than last time. As Noel turned the car at an intersection near a red light, he accidentally bumped into someone he knew.
Walther was sitting in the back seat of a private BMW looking at his cell phone screen, like he was trying to contact someone. As their cars passed in opposite directions, Noel lowered his head slightly to avoid being recognized by the man and it worked until Walther drove away.
Right in front of the building where Walther and Huang Tailung had met, Noel stopped the car. A middle-aged man came out of the lobby door and a Mercedes Benz pulled up in front of him. Huang Tailung got in, and the driver rushed off somewhere. Without realizing it, Noel followed behind while keeping his distance.
Noel continued to follow the Mercedes Benz car carrying Huang Tailung from behind until finally the car turned right, a place where the salty smell was so obvious, a dock near the sea.
There were many container crates in that location. Warehouses are usually used to store large quantities of goods before they are shipped from one country to another.
Huang Tailung's Mercedes Benz finally stopped right at a building in the form of a warehouse.
Noel also did the same. He stopped his car about fifty meters away next to a row of container crates.
Soon Huang Tailung came out of the car along with several of his subordinates. Noel had a little trouble seeing him from inside the car, due to the dew vapor obscuring the windshield. Faintly from inside the warehouse, several large men wearing dull black leather jackets came out to greet him.
If Noel had thought longer, he would not have been forced to play cat and mouse, but rather forced to go to the tiger's den. Armed with nothing but the courage of his convictions. Noel also got out of the car while rubbing his palms on his cheeks. He avoided the security cameras by ducking down to get closer, Noel found it a little difficult because he was bothered by the cold night air, especially now that he wasn't wearing gloves.
The dozens of container crates arranged in a row along with the iron hook tower poles hanging slightly added to the eerie impression of people visiting this area alone in the middle of the night, moreover, not the entire place was illuminated.
Deserted, biting cold, the whistling sea breeze was Noel's companion in his spying. Hiding behind wooden crates, his eyes swept across the deserted warehouse area as everyone went inside.
"Nate." called Noel out of loneliness. "Nate did you hear me?" Steam rose in his mouth. "Don't tell me you're missing again."
There was no sound from Nate, the whistling of the wind was the answer.
"Tck shit!"
Annoyed, Noel stood up and kicked the wooden crate in front of him. Unfortunately for him, this was noticed by a man who was patrolling the area. The man was a large man, holding a long-barreled gun and pointing it at Noel.
Startled, Noel got up and hurriedly ran backwards, only to have his steps blocked by another man. The man glared at Noel and pointed the gun at his head, while the man from earlier came over.
Cursing his carelessness, Noel was caught before he could do anything. Being surrounded by two big, fierce-looking men already scared him, especially if they were holding rifles. His heart pounded, in a fear that ran through his veins.
"Are you spying on us?" one of them asked.
"N-no, I ... I just happened to be passing by," Noel replied with a stiff smile while making a V with his finger. But the two men didn't easily believe what Noel said.
"How about this, he saw everything," the first man glanced at his friend.
"Finish him off!" the second man ordered lightly, not seeing Noel's wide-eyed expression of fear.
Without Noel realizing it, one of them had been watching his face for a while. "This little rabbit is cute too." The man grabbed one of Noel's wrists with his big hand.
"Hey, let go of me, asshole!" shouted Noel. He was still trying to break free.
Nate come out and control your body, beat them up! He pleaded silently. However, Nate, who had been called all along, didn't answer. It's always like this, Noel thought, he doesn't understand why Nate always disappears when he faces a critical situation.
"Get off me you idiot, I'm the Killer Rabbit!" Noel shouted, his panic making him swear unconsciously.
The two big men were silent for a moment and then looked at each other. A second later they laughed. "Look, he claims to be Killer Rabbit." The first man tightened his grip and sneered. "Don't try to fool us! Killer Rabbit won't show up here."
"Akh!" Noel squealed from the grip, just when he thought he would be finished by now. A voice asked from behind.
"What's going on?" he asked as he approached them. Huang Tailung was shocked to see Noel's figure, although he quickly covered it up with a smile.
"Is that how you treat my uninvited guests?"
Understanding their boss's intentions, the two men quickly released Noel. Once his hands were free, Noel stroked the wrists that had bluish marks on them, showing just how strong the men's grip had been.
"Long time no see, Nate," Huang Tailung greeted Noel kindly. Like an old friend who hadn't seen each other in a while. The middle-aged Asian man looked around. "It seems very impolite to keep my guest here, how about I take you to the warehouse for some hot tea?"
Noel still didn't respond, but eventually he nodded in agreement. Although Huang Tailung's demeanor was fairly friendly, it did not reduce Noel's wariness of him.
Huang Tailung turned around and headed for the warehouse. Noel followed behind as he glanced at the men who were there. The men were large, wearing jackets with slightly torn sweaters in dark colors like black or gray.
They stared at Noel hungrily as a slender, sweet-faced American man walked up behind their boss. This was common, Huang Tailung was a bisexual, he used to bring in young men and women for him to fuck.
One of them asked, "Gongzi, this one's good," the man complimented, glancing at Noel who was walking behind the one he called Gongzi.
"He's not goods." Pause for a moment. "He's an old friend of mine." Huang Tailung said casually. Then sat himself on one of the chairs. In the warehouse, in addition to several chairs, there was also a round table on which there were several bottles of liquor and poker cards.
"Introduce everyone. This is Nate the Killer Rabbit."
