"Introduce everyone. This is Nate the Killer Rabbit."
Huang Tailung's words were like the sound of thunder rolling in the ears of everyone there. They suddenly froze in shock, some were wide-eyed. It seems like Killer Rabbit is already famous.
As for Noel, he was equally surprised when he was introduced as Killer Rabbit. Now some people who looked at him with a hungry gaze turned one hundred and eighty degrees of caution. How could they not, now they could see Killer Rabbit's real face from behind the rabbit mask which turned out to be a man with a handsome face that had a charming smile.
Noel glanced at them out of the corner of his eye. When some people realized he was glancing, their expressions turned wary, as if they were seeing a lion in a cage. Just then a cunning idea came to Noel's mind. He deliberately glared at them and succeeded in making some of the people back away.
Inwardly Noel laughed happily, it turned out that being a feared person was fun too. Unfortunately Nate more often showed a flat expression and ignored the frightened expressions of the people who were afraid of him.
"So, have you met your Walt Buddy?" asked Huang Tailung to start the conversation.
"Walt Buddy, who's Walt Buddy?" Noel asked back frowning.
"Walther Zwick, have you forgotten?"
Walt Buddy? Pffttt hahaha that's right it turns out Walther has a nickname like that.
When he was about to say something, Noel accidentally caught a black briefcase on the table. Similar to the one Walther gave to the middle-aged Asian man. Undoubtedly, that was where Huang Tailung had put it.
Now Noel was thinking hard about how he could retrieve it without getting caught. As he was concentrating on thinking of a plan, Huang Tailung suddenly broke his concentration.
"You didn't drink the tea?"
Noel gasped and looked down at the tea that had been served. The steam was gone, indicating that the test was getting cold.
"Take it easy, I won't put any poison in the tea or anything," Huang Tailung continued as if he understood the thoughts of the man he thought was Nate.
A little hesitant, Noel finally took a few sips, enough to warm his throat. If you remember, the last time he was offered a drink by someone ended with him unconscious. Noel put the tea glass back on the table.
Huang Tailung said, "Nothing happened, right? I'm not the cowardly guy who put something in someone's drink."
Noel did not respond.
"You've come all the way to Hong Kong, how about I take you on a cruise?"
If I said yes, maybe I could secretly take the item. Noel seemed to be thinking about accepting the invitation. "I don't want to be a bother," Noel refused, trying to make small talk.
"I'm not bothered at all, after all there is something I want to show you," Huang Tailung stood up, "aren't you curious about that something?" He looked at the man in front of him intently.
Was he being set up? I don't know Noel didn't understand the situation. But he stood up as if agreeing to Huang Tailung's invitation to go on a cruise.
They left the warehouse. When Noel was in the doorway, several of Huang Tailung's bodyguards stood on either side of Noel. At that very second he sensed something was wrong, and Noel still followed the flow of his impromptu plan.
Noel was amazed to see a large luxury yacht at the dock. They were already in the harbor where there were many ships of various types and sizes. Just as Noel was about to step onto the small iron bridge that was used to enter the ship. A man came out from inside and shouted, "Why don't you handcuff this prisoner inside ...?" his words were interrupted as Huang Tailung attacked with a sharp gaze.
Noel reflexively realized his situation as a prisoner, kicked the two big men on the side in turn and quickly grabbed the briefcase held by one of Huang Tailung's bodyguards.
"He grabbed the suitcase, don't let him get away!" Huang Tailung shouted.
The gunshot startled Noel who was running with his briefcase in hand. Panic immediately ran through him as he looked back, seeing several armed men chasing him.
Noel continued to force his legs to run desperately while trying to regulate his uncontrollable heartbeat.
Left with no other choice, Noel desperately threw himself into the cold, dark sea water.
"He's jumping into the sea!" Someone from above shouted.
Noel faintly heard the voice as he rose to the surface of the water. Holding on to one of the small stairs between the ships that were leaning in the harbor, Noel coughed trying to expel the seawater that had entered his body. His eyes were still focused on Huang Tailung's bodyguards who were still pursuing.
Noel took one deep breath and drowned himself in the cold water as three men walked up to the edge of the dock where he was hiding behind the leaning boats.
"Have you seen him?" one of them asked.
"No, he must still be nearby."
"Don't let us lose him, Huang Gongzi will be furious."
The men had a rifle and flashlight in hand. It was just like in the parking lot when he was chased by Rudolf's men, but the situation was much different.
In the water Noel could tell where they were by the bright beams of the flashlights moving in different directions. It had been a minute since the man had wandered around, they still hadn't gone away. Noel closed his eyes and held his chest, he needed air even if it was just one breath, but if he did that then his whereabouts would be discovered.
Damn, his lungs felt tight. The air in Noel's mouth had been replaced by water. Noel didn't know how long he would have to hold his breath in agony.
A flash of his past memories came back. Noel had experienced moments like this in his previous life. Where the man had drowned him in a bathtub filled with cold water. It was winter, and the cold air felt like thousands of tiny needles stabbing into his skin, numbing him. Not to mention the pair of hands that suffocated him, by the time his body started to limp and lose consciousness, the man brought him out of the water and gave him artificial respiration.
Compared to his current situation, Noel was on his own. Maintaining his consciousness, struggling with the pain.
Compared to his current situation, Noel was alone. Maintaining his consciousness, struggling with the pain. It had been more than four minutes since he had held his breath in the winter water. Slowly but surely, Noel felt darkness coming his way.
