The only way for Karl to grow stronger and keep up with those born with far greater talents was to exploit his unique system—to die, over and over again.
But it wasn't just dying. To unlock the full potential of his ability, he needed to endure death in the most brutal ways imaginable, racking up damage points to upgrade his system and boost his multiplier. Just thinking about it made his stomach churn and his face pale. The path of strength was not for the faint of heart.
He knew this. Yet, he couldn't forget his previous life—a life spent drifting without purpose, never daring to push beyond his limits. He had wasted every opportunity, only to die with nothing but regrets.
Even at the end of his life, he could only think about his colleague's butt and her lusciously bountiful hills. It was truly a life not well lived.
Now, he had a second chance. A new beginning. He wouldn't waste it like before. This time, he'd strive for more, no matter what agony he had to endure.
If he had to suffer, then he'd suffer. If he had to die a thousand times, then so be it. He'd do whatever it took to reach the summit and glimpse the true peak of life.
This time, he would live—truly live.
No matter how painful the journey.
No matter how many times he had to die.
…
At this moment, all the students had been fully injected with the God-serum.
Instructor Glaze tapped on his watch and the holographic image before him vanished. He had been calling names for almost half an hour but no signs of exhaustion could be seen on his face. he was surely not an ordinary person. Although he might not be a Demigod. His strength was definitely astounding.
Opening his mouth, Instructor Glaze started his speech.
"I'm sure you all have been injected with the God serum and no one has been left behind right? And those of you without weapons have selected the weapon of your choice from the armory at the Medical Center. Now that this process has been concluded, the Admission Trial will begin immediately. As you have been informed earlier, without a life and death factor, it would be impossible to truly activate your God-cells. Hence, the trial. But that isn't the only reason for the trial. The academy will also grade each of you through the amount of monsters killed and there will be surely be an impressive reward for the First position, Second position and Third position."
"Now, I know must of you just be nervous at where and how your trial will take place, let me put your mind to ease. Your trial will take place in an F-Grade Dimension."
The students spirits were immediately roused at the rewards and some people faces paled at the words Dimensions. While some were relived it was only an F-grade dimension. The few talented individuals didn't even have a single reaction to the news.
F-grade dimensions are something like that of a dungeon. It's was where the god blood in the dimension kept spawning mutated monsters of the same grade over and over again until the god energy within the blood fades.
There are different tiers to Dimensions. They range from F-grade to SSS-grade dimension.
The monsters in a F-grade dimension possess the strength of an Activated Soldiers and below. There are a few exceptional F-grade Dimensions that spawns higher level Mutated beasts, but they are usually rare.
Activated Soldiers are those who have Activated their God-Cells, from 0% to 100% after which, they could merge with a God-gene and become Super Soldiers in the process.
"The Head-Instructor will now speak to you." Instructor Glaze stepped down from the podium and went to his seat.
Instructor Elysia stood up and took the stage. "This stage was built a few hundred years ago. It's not to hold events like this, but as a form of protection in case the Portal here erupts. The Gate to the F-Grade Dimension is below you all, good luck."
Just as her words dropped, she tapped on her watch.
"W-what!?"
"Is she joking?"
"What did she say!?"
The students were confused as they stared at the ground below them.
However, before they knew what was happening, they felt their entire body become weightless as the entire ground of the stadium actually opened up like the mouth of an abyssal dragon!
A swirling portal emerged in place of the ground and the entire students plunged into it like well lubricated stick figures in a warmhole.
"Fuuuuuuuuuu—!"
Karl was the first to curse as he felt his body pass through the portal gate. It was as though his entire body was covered in a sort of slimy bubble and then slipped out of it.
"Hehe. I can see you are still mad at my lovely brat." Instructor Keisha suddenly giggled as her chests vibrated with her words.
"Hmph!" Head-Instructor Elysia simply ignored her as she stood up and with a single leap she turned into a streak of light and flew out of the stadium's open roof.
Instructor Keisha watched her fading figure and her smiling, gorgeous face turned cold and serious as though she was contemplating something.
...
"—Uuuuuuuuuck!"
Karl screamed as he fell through the void. He instinctively covered his head with his hands as he fell only to realize the weightless feeling had vanished and he seem to be standing on solid ground.
"Eh?" Karl removed his hands and was surprised to see himself on solid ground, surrounded by trees, forest and tall grasses that reached all the way to his waist.
"Ha. I'm alive! Luckily, I didn't scream." Karl sighed in relief as he patted his body to see that he was actually okay and alive.
"Fiona?"
Karl looked around and didn't see Fiona who had been behind him. It seemed they had been transported to different places.
Suddenly he frowned as he looked to the sky. The sky was dark but the moon shed some light to the ground. However, the moon was blood red, cascading bloody rays of light to the ground as the rain felt like blood raining to the ground as though some massive being had died and their blood was dripping to the ground like rain.
Karl spread his gloved arms out with frown as the rain dripped in his Palm. Looking closely, he sighed in relief as he noticed it was just a trick from the crimson moon, the water was pure.
Karl glanced around, randomly choosing a direction, he began his move.
