The 900 recruits were all transported to various places of the dimension. Most were lucky like Karl to be transported into a safe region while others were unlucky, directly transported in the territory of a Mutated Beast and started started their battling immediately.
The more unlucky ones were directly teleported to the center of mutated beasts that lived in groups.
And amongst these group of people is Fiona.
"Hooooowl!!!"
A group of Vile wolves howled to the skies as they chased down their prey with fervent hunger in their eyes.
Fiona cursed the day she wasn't born with four legs as she ran through the forest with a speed she never knew she could achieve.
"Dammit! Did Karl's bad-luck run off on me!?"
The leaves whipped through her skin, leaving slight cuts on her skin as she ran throughout the forest.
However, even if she was fast, there was no way she could be faster than mutated beasts which who possess speed and strength equivalent to that of an Awakened Soldier.
"Whoosh!!!"
A wolf suddenly leapt towards her from behind as its sharp claw tore through the air, releasing a whizzing sound as it slashed at her back.
Fiona's heart tightened and the hair behind her neck stood on as a feeling intense danger filled her being.
"Thump!" "Thump!!"" "Thump!!!"
Her heart pounded rapidly, almost as though it was about to burst out of her chest any time soon.
Suddenly, blood vessels could be seen spreading from the side of her eyes, like an upside down root of a tree. Veins popped out from the side of her neck, arms and thighs.
Her vision blurred for a split second before snapping back into sharp focus. Everything around her—the leaves fluttering in the breeze, the shifting shadows of the forest, the glistening teeth of the Vile Wolves—came into razor-sharp clarity.
The world seemed to slow, the sounds of snapping twigs and rustling leaves stretching into drawn-out echoes.
In the blink of an eye, Fiona's irises shifted, turning from their normal hue into a vivid, blood-red glow. Her pupils narrowed into thin, predatory slits, and her breathing grew ragged, each exhale sending out streams of hot air that seemed to shimmer in the cold night air.
But the Vile Wolf didn't wait for her to complete whatever transformation she was undergoing. Its massive body tensed, muscles rippling as it sprang forward, claws outstretched. Time seemed to freeze as the beast's paw, sharp and deadly, slashed down with terrifying speed, aimed directly at the back of her skull.
"Whoosh!"
"Bang!"
The sound of splintering wood filled the air as the wolf's claws carved through a thick tree trunk with ease, cleaving it clean in half. The trunk shuddered, then toppled to the ground with a deafening crash, splinters flying everywhere.
Fiona had somehow managed to escape at that single moment.
Her body blurred, moving faster than even she could have imagined. One moment, she had been standing still, bracing herself for the oncoming attack. The next, she was several feet away, crouched low with her fingers digging into the dirt as she drifted through the grass with the kinetic energy fading from her speed, her body vibrating with incredible amount of strength.
The Vile Wolf's eyes widened in shock, its clawed paw hanging in mid-air where Fiona's head had been just a heartbeat ago. A low snarl escaped its throat as it turned to face her, confusion and rage flashing across its twisted features.
"I can… win."
The thought sent a thrill of excitement through her, and the grin on her face widened. Without warning, Fiona's body blurred again, and she vanished from the wolf's sight.
"Whoosh!"
"Grrrrr!!"
The Vile Wolf snarled in confusion, its gaze darting left and right as it tried to follow her movements. But she was too fast. One moment she was in front of it, the next she was at its side, then behind it.
"Over here!" she giggled, her voice seemingly echoing from everywhere at once.
The wolf's eyes shone coldly and it suddenly spun around, its claws slashing through empty air.
Fiona's expression changed slightly but her feet slammed heavily to the ground as her body blurred as she sidestepped.
The faster her heart beat, the stronger she felt.
The world around her seemed to slow down, and she could see every movement, every twitch of muscle in the wolf's body as it struggled to keep up.
But it couldn't.
She was too fast.
Too strong.
"Is this all you've got?" Fiona laughed in mockery, crimson eyes blazing as she ducked under the wolf's next swipe.
"Bang!"
Her feet slammed heavily to the ground as she leapt upwards. Twisting her body in midair with her legs to the skies, with a surge of strength, she slammed her fist heavily against the wolf's skull.
"Didn't you want to feast on me? Take this!"
"BOOM!!!"
The impact sent a shockwave rippling through the air, and the beast's head slammed directly to the ground as its skull shattered to pieces. Its brain turned to mush by the shockwaves from the fist with blood oozing out from its nose ears and mouth.
"Awooooo!!!"
At this moment, the other Vile-wolves caught up and Fiona vanished like she was never there.
The Vile-Wolves howled in anger seeing their dead comrades as they searched around for their target.
On a large tree ten meters above, Fiona's were wide open as she stared at her arms as though she was just seeing them for the first time.
"Is this the power of an Activated Soldier?"
She murmured softly, mesmerized by the lines of thick veins on her arms and neck, pulsating as they pumped thick blood from her heart to every part of her body.
Her milky white skin glowed even more as she felt raw intense power coursing through her veins. She felt as though she could smash the world to pieces with just her fists alone!
"Hahaha! I finally activated my cells! Karl would be so jealous!"
Unlike her pleasant and seductive countenance, her laugh was diabolical and even the wolves howled in anger.
"Eh?" They even dared to mock he?
Her crimson eyes suddenly locked on the Vile-wolves beneath her and like an old pervert imprisoned for a hundred years suddenly seeing a young and helpless naked lady, Fiona licked her lips and chuckled coldly.
She withdrew her sword from the hilt behind her and pointed at the wolves below.
"Boom!"
The tree beneath her shook violently as leaves fell in all directions. Fiona suddenly vanished from her previous position with insane speed as she descended at the center of the Vile-wolves like an apparition.
A brutal slaughter ensued.
This didn't only happen to Fiona but to recruits in similar situations in every corner of this dimension. Their cells activates in the face of danger as they succeeded in passing the first requirement to be accepted by the academy.
