The phrase reverberated through my mind as I tried to process what the director had just said. Maeve Turner, the Maeve Turner, would be playing opposite me.
The same actress who'd racked up awards like they were casual weekend trophies, who was on every magazine cover and the guest star on every talk show.
And here she was, not only in the same project but playing the role of my character's bodyguard.
I looked over at the director, hoping for an explanation for this last-minute surprise, and he cleared his throat, catching onto the gazes all aimed his way.
