The front door had just closed, and Ronan had made it as far as the stairs when a knock came from the door again.
"I'm popular today," I chuckled as I tapped Ronan to put me down. However, the man holding me was completely stiff, as if he was scared of something. "Ronan?" I asked, confused. Looking over my shoulder, I saw that the rest of my men were tense, like they were preparing for a battle.
"Put me down," I sighed, but Ronan only shook his head and held me tighter.
"No," he stated, his voice harsh from just the one word. "Chang Xuefeng, get ridda de visitor."
"No," I snapped. Something inside of me was being pulled toward the door like it was something special just for me. "Put me down so I can answer the door."
