Disappearing into the sea of reincarnation

The end is nothing but the beginning in disguise. The reason why I say so is because of the man with long silky black hair floating in the air. He looked down on me with pity as I laid on the ground with critical injuries. 

"Well, looks like this is the end. Stand proud, you are strong. Is what I would say if you could actually injure me." He said condescendingly, and mocked me.

I gritted my teeth, and glared at him as I endured the pain from my injuries.

"Shut up, and let me sever your head with my blade!" I roared angrily as he kept looking down upon me with arrogance. 

"Hmph! You can't even touch me, what makes you think that you can sever my head with your lousy skills?" He descended from the sky, and landed right in front of me with no injuries on his body. 

I used all of my willpower to stand up, and picked up my sword. My nerves, and muscles are burning alongside my injuries. I tensed up my sore muscles, and injured arms to swing my sword with the intent to behead him. However, my blade stopped as soon as it made contact with his neck.

"W-What?" I was stunned and slowly descended to despair. 

"Hmph! What did I say? Let me repeat it to get it through your head, you can't kill me, you are too weak." He picked me up by my collar, and stared at me with his crimson eyes.

"Tch, I know that, I know I'm weak… However, I will not stop until I kill you for what you've done!!!" I tensed up my muscles and stabbed him with a hidden dagger under my sleeves.

"... are you done? If so then stay dead." He threw me into the air and readied his attack. A red glow could be seen from his hand. It was at that moment, my life promptly ended the moment I saw a crimson light approaching me rapidly, a moment later I could see my headless body fall to the ground. That day, the last human alive was killed by the heavenly demon, Hyung See Yong and that day was the day where the last human was reborn.

"Wake up, Chen Tian Men!" A feminine voice echoes in the room.

I jolted awake as I heard the familiar voice yelled at me. 

"H-Huh? T-This can't be, this voice…" I was stunned for a brief moment. 

A figure was slowly revealed as the footsteps got closer. She was average looking at worst, and good looking at best. This woman was my sister, Chen Xing Huo. This must mean that…

"Xing Huo, what year is this right now?" She looked puzzled as I asked her an obvious question.

"Are you still feeling hazy from your sleep? It's the year 121, April 20th in the HeiAn calendar of course." She said as if she's stating the obvious.

'This concludes it, I've traveled back in time to when everything started.' I thought to myself as I was still trying to wrap my head around this situation.

"Tian Men, are you feeling okay today? You feel a bit off, did something happen? Don't tell me you've gotten rejected by the woman you've fancied in your dream." She laughed as she playfully mocking me.

I sighed at her antics, she's my sister alright, her annoying attitude, and her way of speaking makes me feel right at home.

'I'm back, this time I'm going to change everything, starting with you.' I stared at Xing Huo.

She looked puzzled at why I'm staring at her without saying anything, but she drew a conclusion that I did get rejected in my dream and gave me an annoying look seemingly saying that everything it's going to be alright.

"I did not get rejected! Jeez you are so annoying." I sighed in resignation, this used to annoy me to no bound , but now it feels nostalgic, and it feels like home. A home that is currently made of paper. One single push and the 'home' would collapse. To prevent this, I must get stronger, and use all the knowledge I've gained in the past… or future? That's beside the point, I will use it to change the course of history!

"You are being weirder than usual, my idiotic brother." She looked at me as if I'm a mental patient because of my constant shift in my emotions. 

"Just get out already!" I kicked her out of my room and took a deep breath to calm myself, and start to formulate a plan to stop the events that's going to drive humans to extinction.

'First thing first… I need a nap, I deserve it after the bullshit I've been put into in the future/past. I still don't know whether it is considered the past or the future at this point.' I decided to throw my thoughts and questions outside the window and slept like a log. However I set up an alarm to get ready for my first hurdle, and the beginning of this madness. 

Two hours later

My alarm rang, and I was jolted awake by the familiar sound, but yet so foreign at the same time.

"Jeez, the only thing I don't miss is my alarm, this sure brings back bad memories."

I remember that each time an alarm was heard, there was always some disaster, and fights. I remember the first alarm I heard after the world altering event was also the first time I've killed a living being. Suddenly a weird panel showed up in front of me.

"What is-" before I could finish, the panel expanded into a screen, and a robotic voice could be heard.

[System activating:10%, 24%, 36%... 100%.]

[System successfully activated: Would you like to do a tutorial on how to operate the system?]

Yes/No was shown under the screen. I thought I was still sleeping, so I pinched myself, a little too hard.

[Damage detected]

[Hp:9.3/10]

'Wait, isn't this like one of those games I've played back then? Wait, if this is so the-' Suddenly my thought was cut off when my sister said she's going out to get some coffee. I Instantly ran down stairs as fast as I could, and stopped her before it's too late. I grabbed her, and pulled her inside, before she could yell at me. A red rift was formed in front of the place where she was earlier.

"W-What is that?" Xing Huo asked nervously, she could feel the danger within that rift.

"Well, according to the Wiki, it is called a rift I believe, I could be wrong though." I decided to mock her for once.

"I know that's a rift, asshole." Xing Huo said angrily. I chuckled at her foul language.

"Well, it doesn't matter what it is, I'm sure none of us want to go in, right? I mean you could if you insist, I won't stop you." I sat down on the sofa, knowing I've stopped my sister from entering one of the disasters that humanity has faced, the 'gates'.

"How about you go in instead, you are a man right?" Xing Huo tried to pressure me into entering the gates as a joke.

"Oh my, I was under the impression that you would go in first, since you used to always say 'women first'. Maybe I remembered it wrong." I've also played along with her jokes.

She playfully hit me, as she sat next to me.

"Yeah right, I'm not stupid enough to go in a rift, a red rift no less. That is the universal sign of death isn't it?" She scoffed as she explained how stupid it was to go into that gate. Cold sweat was forming on my back because I was the stupid person that went inside of the gate because she got forcibly transported inside. 

"Y-Yeah, who would do that, ahahaha… They are definitely courting death." I laughed emotionlessly. This is now a secret I'm taking to my grave.

"A-Anyway, I'm going back to my room, don't go outside now, okay?" I headed back to my room

"As if, who would be stupid enough to do that?" Xing Huo then opened the TV to no avail because the signal was probably cut off due to those gates.

In my room

"Anyway, that is one issue fixed, now then… Let's see what this system is about." As I called for the system, it appeared in front of me.

[Yes?] 

It spoke with an unnecessary amount of sass. It is like a schoolgirl getting ignored for a singular second.

"Are you mad?" I asked nervously.

[I'm not capable of expressing, nor feeling emotions]

"Sure… anyway about the tutorial, I accept." I said

[Request is appropriate, request accepted… tutorial staring in 5…4…3…2…1]

As the countdown began, the space around me wrapped, normally people would feel dizzy, or nauseous, but I'm more than used to it. The amount of time I was forcibly teleported away by my teammates was too much to remember, and count. 

[Tutorial successfully initiated]

"T-This place." The place where I got transported to is where my misery started. 

"You really know how to hit my sore spot huh?" I gritted my teeth in frustration, anger, and sadness. 

[Mission: Defeat the Eternal Dragon of Chao]

"This is the tutorial huh? How ridiculous, fighting…no, defeating the final boss as a level 1 player with starting gear." However, such unfairness is not a foreign experience for me. As someone who experienced the responsibility being pushed onto me to defeat the Heavenly Demon, Hyung See Yong, this is nowhere as bad as that! I readied my wooden sword and got one shot by the dragon's tail. 

[System notification: Player Chen Tian Men has died.]

[Tutorial is restarting: progress 10%, 47%, 100%]

[Tutorial restarted successfully]

[Mission: Defeat the Eternal Dragon of Chaos]

[Tips: You die when you get killed]

And that was the start of my new misery.
