"Well, I think I know just the place," Kaito said, his smile brimming with confidence, a glimmer of excitement lighting up his eyes.
They left the hot spring behind, the soothing warmth replaced by the crisp air of the bustling town, going back deep into town. Takumi and Denji picked up the tent once again and continued forward following Kaito's lead.
Astrid stepped closer to Isamu, looping her arm through his. Her soft touch seemed to pull him out of his thoughts. "Thanks for standing up for us back there," she said, her voice laced with gratitude.
Isamu scratched the back of his head, a sheepish grin on his face. "Oh, no problem. He seems harmless, just a bit weird."
'Could be harmful, and definitely weird,' he thought, the caution lingering in the back of his mind.
Astrid rested her head on his shoulder, her hair tickling his neck. "You seem a bit off ever since we all split up. Are you okay?"
