Chapter 14 - Standing up for what he loves

The door creaked open, and Roy stepped into Alan's room, with him two other people also entered the room. A smug grin was plastered on Roy's face. The two men behind him glanced around the room with an arrogant look on their faces.

"Nice place you've got here, Alan," Roy sneered."you must thank us, for giving you money."

Alan's heart raced, clenched his fists, trying to stay calm. This man was one of the reasons for his suffering and his childhood friend.

"What do you want, Roy ?" he asked, forcing his voice to remain steady.

Roy stepped closer, dripping with confidence. "We're here to check on what happened in that rift, for your information those teammates of yours started behaving like some crazy demon when I asked them ." He leaned in, a smirk spreading across his face.

Alan was confused, why did they want to know about Rift? And it seems something happened to those three and they still haven't been recovered.

[Alan, don't tell them anything, that rift is related to one of your main tasks]

Alan's expression hardened."I don't remember anything, I only remember we entered the rift and suddenly I woke up in the hospital ."

Suddenly one of the two men who were with Roy spoke," It seems you do not know the gravity of the situation, the rift you entered turned into a red rift, and a red rift hasn't appeared for 100 years.

Alan's expression darkened upon hearing the rift turned red, rifts are divided into 4 types green, purple, orange, and red, and rift strength is decided by the boss dreadmind,

"It seems the situation is dire, and the rift is related to his main task, it must be quite special" Alan mused over his thoughts.

All of a sudden Roy spoke, stopping the man."Oh, come on," Roy taunted. "Don't make me repeat myself, these people are from the Carter clan, so choose your words wisely." he leaned grinning, the intensity in his stare sending a clear message.

Just then, the door swung open again. Elena and Christiana stepped in, their expressions shifting from curiosity to concern as they took in the scene.

"Alan? Is everything okay?" Elena asked, her eyes darting between him and the intruders.

Before Alan could respond, Roy's grin widened. "Oh, Chicken, who are these beauties? Nevermind, we are friends right, so you should give them to me." A lecherous glint lit up his eyes, revealing his dark intentions.

The words hit Alan hard, igniting a surge of anger within him. How dare he speak about his wives like that? The room felt charged as he instinctively started using his skill of "authority", the air thickening around him.

"Watch your mouth," Alan warned, his voice low and firm. The atmosphere crackled with tension, and he could sense his wives irritation behind him.

Roy's confidence slipped. "Or what? You think you can scare me?"

Without thinking, Alan lunged forward. In a heartbeat, he closed the gap between them. Roy barely had time to react before Alan's fist connected with his jaw, sending him crashing to the floor.

The two other clan members sprang into action, trying to protect Roy, but they found themselves frozen in place, looking at the two women they felt a deep fear, as if death was close behind them.

"Get up, Roy," Alan demanded, towering over him, who struggled to regain his composure, fear creeping into his eyes.

When their gazes locked, Alan saw the flicker of terror in Roy's face.

He stared into Alan's eyes—dark and intense, filled with a power that was hard to ignore. At that moment, Roy didn't just see Alan; he saw something dark and powerful, he gave the feeling of a being above everyone.

Roy crumbled. "I—I was just joking," he stammered, trying to back away, but it felt like the ground was holding him down.

Alan stepped closer, his resonance wrapping around him like a heavy blanket. "Let's make one thing clear," he continued, voice steady. "If you ever say anything about them, you will regret it."

Christiana stepped forward, her presence commanding. "You think you can just walk in here and threaten us? You're wrong. You don't know who you're dealing with."

As the weight of their combined power settled on the three intruders, Alan watched as fear grew in Roy's eyes.

After a tense moment, Alan turned to his wives. "Let them go," he commanded. They stepped aside, allowing the two clan members to breathe again. But they stood frozen, wide-eyed at what had just happened.

With one last look at Roy, who lay on the floor, dazed and confused, Alan stepped back. "Get out."

The two clan members rushed to help Roy, who struggled to get up. They backed toward the door, glancing around as if escaping a nightmare.

As the door closed behind them, the tension began to fade. Alan turned to Elena and Christiana, adrenaline still rushing through him.

"What just happened?" he asked, trying to understand the sudden burst of power he had shown.

Elena moved closer, her eyes bright with pride. "You stood up for us, Alan. You showed them who you really are."

Christiana crossed her arms, a teasing smile on her face. "And here I thought we'd have to teach you how to intimidate! Guess we were wrong!"

Alan raised an eyebrow, pretending to be offended. "What do you mean 'wrong'? I just knocked out him in seconds!"

Elena laughed, her voice light. "True, but maybe next time, don't go for the 'dark overlord' look. You looked ready to deliver a villain's speech."

Christiana Joined in, grinning. "Yeah! Maybe add a 'friendly neighborhood husband' vibe next time. Something like, 'Hey, I'm here to protect my family, not scare you!'"

Alan chuckled, feeling the tension melt away. "Alright, I'll work on my 'friendly yet powerful' look for next time. Maybe I'll even wear a smile and a cape!"

"Just don't forget to smile," Christiana said with a wink.

"Don't push it," Alan replied, rolling his eyes but unable to hide his grin.

As they stood together, united against whatever came next, Alan felt a surge of hope. With his wives by his side, he would face whatever challenges lay ahead. The world would soon learn that Alan was not to be underestimated.

With a newfound sense of confidence, Alan thought about what the future held. Whatever challenges awaited him, he knew he wouldn't face them alone. He had Elena and Christiana, two fierce women who wouldn't back down from anyone. Together, they would carve their path, and no one would stand in their way.

As they shared a laugh, Alan felt a warmth in his heart. This was what mattered—family, loyalty, and the strength to stand against anyone who tried to threaten that.
