William blinked, his focus shifting back to the woman in front of him. Her hair was slightly tousled, her clothes a bit rumbled, and her expression hinted at something unsettling beneath the surface.
Her green eyes screamed of pain and it looked like she had cried a lot judging from her slightly swollen and red eyes.
William watched as the woman ordered a whiskey and started downing glass after glass.
It didn't feel like she was here for fun. It felt like she was looking for a way to escape from something…
He shook his head and sighed. What was he even analyzing? This woman had managed to bring out this part in him that…
William paused at that moment. "It was none of his business," he thought, so he stood up to leave with his assistant trailing behind.
However, before he knew it, the woman from earlier was already standing right in front of him. Up close, she looked even more alluring.
Unlike all those women who would go around looking like a colorful masquerade with their heavy makeup, this woman had none.
Her face was bare, but she still managed to look very attractive. Who was this woman?
"Hey babe." Abigail slurred, before her arms intimately wrapped around his neck.
Skyler could have fun? Then she could too.
"Do you want to have some fun?" The woman boldly asked, blinking her long slightly wet lashes as she asked.
William felt his throat bubbling ahead of himself, feeling her round soft oranges pressing against his chest.
Zeke's face widened in horror. It was not because the unknown lady hugged around his boss, but because everyone knew about his boss's distaste for women.
Especially the clingy ones.
He tried to move forward to save the situation, but he was shocked to the bones when William signaled him to stay back.
This was a new development!
"Kiss me." The woman whined with a pout.
William's eyes widened in surprise before narrowing at the sight of her. He didn't know this woman but he could tell she was out of her mind.
Only a glance at his assistant, and the man understood immediately.
Zeke scratched the back of his head, shock still evident when he spoke. "I'll just go and order your food," he excused himself before walking away.
This woman… Who was she? William didn't trust her… no, he didn't trust anyone, not even his business partners.
'Business partners!' His eyes narrowed even more at the thought. Was she sent as a spy to… He assessed the woman, and then shook his head.
No, she looked too petite and powerless to be capable of that.
"Ma'am I would appreciate it if you.."
"Sleep with me." Abigail said with a giggle and the words he was about to say immediately got stuck in his throat.
Women never had this kind of effect on him so what was happening?
William didn't want to stick around to find out so he carefully detached himself and rushed out with a heart that was abnormally pounding fast.
"Bummer." Abigail sighed with a hand on her hips as she tried to maintain her balance.
She was almost on the verge of dozing off but she managed to ask for a room she could lodge for a night.
She was given directions and a room key so I staggered towards the hotel lobby, opened a room, went straight to bed, and dived into it.
Unbeknownst to her, she just dove into a lion's den.
After being shown to his suite, William sent his assistant away to rest.
They had another long day ahead.
His mind kept flashing to the woman he saw earlier but he had to push those thoughts aside.
Stripping off his clothes, he stepped into the bathroom to shower.
This was an excellent relief from his stress after a long day.
When he was done, he tied a towel around his waist and dried his hair with another as he walked out.
As William entered the bedroom, he momentarily stopped in his tracks.
His eyes narrowed suspiciously as he walked towards the bed, and he felt his throat dry and his blood boil intimately.
On the bed was the frail young woman he had seen drinking earlier in the bar. She lay sprawled out, her long hair scattered across the pillow, with her first two buttons undone, revealing a fair amount of her supple cleavage. Her skirt was lifted out of place due to her sleeping position, showing her fair thighs and slender legs.
She was petite, yet seductive.
Weak, yet aggressive.
She was a sight to behold, but that was not the point.
'What is she doing here, and how did she gain access to my room?' William's face darkened at the thought of her being a spy.
Nobody would dare! He needed to know why she was here, so he shook her a little.
'What the heck? What was this feeling?'
William's body immediately reacted in a way he had never felt before, as if it didn't belong to him anymore the moment his hands touched her bare skin.
It was supple and smooth to the touch.
"This woman is dangerous to me," he muttered.
Not physically dangerous, William thought, but dangerous in another kind of way and he needed to keep his distance.
"Hey, wake up," William shook her again, and this time she muttered something he couldn't hear.
Suddenly William was lying on top of her, almost crushing her.
She had unknowingly dragged him down in her sleep.
She must have thought of him as a teddy bear or a pillow, judging by the way she crossed one of her legs over his groin and one arm on his chest.
Damn!
It felt like he was floating on cloud nine.
When he fell on her, his bare chest pressed onto her soft and tender peaches, creating a magical friction of intimacy.
She was a walking temptation.
And when she flipped to the side with her leg on his groin, he lost it! He felt electrified.
He was drawn to her soft lips, and they were irresistible to kiss.
He knew it was wrong to take advantage of a sleep-drunk woman but he just couldn't help himself.
He leaned forward, but he jolted back in shock when Abigail's eyes suddenly snapped open.
