Chereads / Entangled With Mr William / Chapter 4 - The heartbreak

Chapter 4 - The heartbreak

"Hey babes, how did your surprise with your man go?." Sarah squealed with joy.

Abigail felt bad because she was going to have to ruin her excitement.

"He's cheating on me," Her voice came out after she was silent for some time. At this moment, she looked so desolate and dejected that had Sarah fuming with anger.

"What!" Sarah exclaimed.

"Oh my God Abi, are you okay?" She asked, her voice was evident with concern. "That cheap cock," Sarah cursed.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She sighed, trying not to think about her problem because she could burst into tears.

"But there's something else.."

"What is it? Abi, please stop scaring me."

"I said I'm fine but it's just that I may have had sex with a stranger." She said, biting the side of her lips.

There was no response and Abigail's heart sank. She knew that whenever Sarah remained silent, then it meant something she didn't like.

"Please… please don't judge. " She begged.

"Of course not. But you mean you slept with a stranger?" She exclaimed with a jaw that was practically hitting the floor.

"Yes, but it was not intentional," she replied.

"Abi, how could you be so impulsive? Do you even know this guy?"

"But that's why I used the word stranger," Abigail mumbled.

"So you don't even know the guy or even a name at least."

"Sarah, you heard me right from the start, right?" Abigail sighed, running frustrated fingers through her brown hair.

"I was drunk, Sarah, and we had made love. I didn't even get a good look at his face before I ran."

"So you chicken out," Sarah remarked, trying not to sound funny.

"What was I supposed to do?" Abigail cried.

"Well it's a good thing, you are cheating on the cheater." Sarah chuckled.

"Please, this is just not the time to pull jokes," she pleaded.

"Don't worry we'll figure this out together," Sarah assured her with a hug. "I promise."

"Thank you so much," Abigail replied, feeling grateful for her having a friend who's always got her back.

It wasn't new though. Sarah had been there for her since they were in college. They both majored in Arts, and that was how they got to know each other.

There was a time when she ran into bullies, and Sarah had fearlessly stood up for her.

She was sincerely thankful to her. They had talked about many things, even their families.

Sarah discovered that she was just a girl with a single parent who worked three jobs to see herself through school, and ever since then, Sarah had practically become the sister and confidant she never had.

After staying in that position for a while, Abigail thought it was time to go. She eased away from the hug, and stood on her feet. "I have to go now. You know my family. You know how it is whenever they're mad at me, and that's what I do not want right now. I've had enough already." She explained.

Sarah stood up to her feet as well, walking her to the front door. She bid Abigail goodbye and watched as she walked further into the distance until she was out of sight before going back inside. She couldn't help but shake her head. Her friend was going through a lot at her tender age.

When Abigail got home, she was too surprised to see an empty house. It was unusual.

"Where is everyone?" She muttered as she walked up the stairs.

She shook her head, it was none of her business anyway, and she even preferred it this way. At least, it will save her some time and space to sort her head out.

With their absence, she could also get a few hours of sleep before she started running their errands and then go to work.

However, the moment she stepped into the hallway that led to her room she started hearing moans.

Just like yesterday, It was as if the event was replaying in her head.

Abigail shook her head when she realized it was coming from her step-sister's room. It wasn't a new thing, but couldn't she just properly lock the door? What if it was dad or mother that walked in to find her doing this?

Abigail took a step towards the other way that led to her room, but a nagging sensation somewhere prevented her from going further, so she took a sneak peek at the slightly opened door to see another horror play out before her eyes.

Her hands started shaking when she saw her sister, banging someone… her boyfriend!

Anger, disgust, and frustration rushed over as she kicked the door open.

The couple jolted back in shock because of the impact on the door.

"How long has this been going on?" Abigail yelled with tears streaming down her eyes.

A profuse amount of shame carved the features of Skyler as he averted his gaze all the while trying to cover his naked self.

"Oh, it's just you." Mia, her step-sister, seemed unfazed, annoyed even. She thought Abigail had ruined her good time.

"What do you mean it's me? You are screwing with my boyfriend." Abigail cried. "How could you do this to me?"

Mia scoffed sarcastically. "It is either you are out of your mind or sick to have forgotten. Abigail? You broke up with him just yesterday, have you forgotten?" She snapped.

Abigail stood rooted on the spot with disbelief as looked at her sister.

She always knew Mia didn't like her but she never knew the hatred was this deep. Even if she broke up with Skyler, of all people, did she have to choose to do this with him?

But who was she going to complain to? Her dad? That was out of the option since he favored his new family over her. It had always been like…

Abigail was snapped out of her thoughts when Mai's voice echoed in the room.

"Are you done crying? If you are, then can you get out? You are ruining my appetite for sex already." Mia yelled pointing at the door.

Abigail couldn't believe her ears as well as her heart that's breaking all over again, and all this spoiled brat was concerned about was… her appetite for sex?

She sniffed, furiously wiping off the tears that roamed free on her cheeks. She was not going to allow this anymore, she was going to stand for herself. She was going to demand for answers.

"No! I'm not leaving until you explain to me why it had to be him." Abigail demanded.
