"Ho-ho, what are you?"
Finn instinctively looked around, searching for the source of the voice. To his dismay, both his senses and physical view couldn't catch the presence of anybody.
Although he didn't overestimate his skills, he believed the voice source wasn't here. He came to the conclusion that it was from the other side of this barrier, where his senses couldn't breach.
"How rude." Another feminine voice sounded.
"Indeed. First stranger we're meeting in years and this is what we get!" The previous voice said, it's voice calm, yet aggressive.
As Finn listened, he instinctively waved his tentacles, gesturing that he couldn't talk.
"Eh, Lily, he doesn't seem to be able to talk." The aggressive voice said, disappointment evident in her voice.
Lily, the owner of the second voice, was silent for a bit before replying, "This is a strange creature... I didn't encounter its kind before I was sealed. Things really have changed over the years."
"If that guy is still around, he'll definitely be proud." The aggressive voice joked, bursting into laughter.
While they were discussing, Finn attempted an idea he had over the past few months.
After inhabiting this body, Finn realized his Shape Shifting skill was an abnormal one that could generate any body part as long as he had a level of knowledge about it.
This was going to be his solution for communication while he was in a monster's body that lacked the parts necessary to communicate well.
Regarding language barrier, Finn guessed that the status powers might help in this case. No harm in trying.
Without activating any skill, Finn recreated the Fenrir's body parts within him and made some tweaks.
"Eh-em... Testing voice. Ahhh, I can talk again!" Jellyfish Finn rejoiced at the success. This was the first time he was talking in months.
"Cora, he actually talks, I didn't expect that from his kind." Lily said with a tinge of amusement.
Finn didn't give Cora a chance to reply. He introduced himself, "Hello! I'm Finn..." He hesitated as he added, "Finn, the Ghost."
"Nice to meet ya, Finn! I'm Cornelia!" Cora introduced herself.
"And I'm Lilith." She said using a composed and gentle voice.
Before Finn could respond, a male voice said, "Hm, Call me Haru."
'Eh, I already assumed they were only two. I wonder if there are more.' Finn then asked, "Ah, I had assumed it was only two of you behind there."
"Tsk. Ignore this boring guy, he has been like that since we were trapped here." Cora replied.
Upon hearing her statement, Finn questioned. "How long have you guys been trapped here? Why are you even trapped here?"
Cora laughed as she said, "How straightforward!"
This made Finn feel like he was rude with his questions.
While Cora teased him, Lily replied, "Never mind her. We've been here prior to the fall of the gods. That should be at least 200 years ago."
"Fall of the gods... 200 years ago... Damn, I'm lost!" Finn blurted.
'Wasn't it a god that reincarnated me? That was 7 months ago... How...'
"You sound unfamiliar with this, why so? Are there no records of this past in this era?" Lily asked, finding this situation quite odd.
"I'm generally not familiar with this world. Technically, I just got here in recent months..."
Cora, who had left Lily to take the lead in this discussion, had an idea. "Finn, by chance, are you from the world called Earth?"
Upon hearing the gods had died, Finn's clues on how he got to this world were reduced, but he didn't expect to get a new lead so soon.
"I am..." He replied. Since they were familiar with Earth to an extent, he believed he could reveal this much. "How did you guess that?"
"That guy is indeed devious." Cora said, not paying attention to Finn's question.
"Since you're being honest here, we'll tell you somethings," Lily's calm voice sounded, slightly serious. "The God of the world you came from was the same entity that sealed us here. We are familiar with the way he works.
"I'm certain he died hundreds of years ago. Probably as a plan to be reborn, he had left a part of himself in the world he oversaw, away from the eyes of his enemies.
"I'm not sure if you're aware, but you carry said part of this entity within you. We can sense it, we've been in his seal for years after all."
'Ah... So Echo of God is a way to revive this god, and it's also the reason I was attracted to this place. How did he even leave a part of himself within me? Tch.'
Finn didn't like the idea of being used, but he had to acknowledge that this skill had helped him a lot, it truly was the cause of his second chance. For this skill that had helped him, Finn thought reviving this god served as a good repayment.
"Thanks for the enlightenment." Finn took the opportunity to probe into their matter, "You guys are over 200 years old? You've been sealed for that long?"
"Along with others, we came here for a reason and ended up being sealed here. Amongst all that were originally sealed, we three are the only survivors. Shortly after we were sealed here, we slept for an unknown period of time, and we only woke up 200 years ago."
"And boredom has been killing us ever since!" Cora added to Lilly's explanation.
Hearing this, Finn realized that they're strength was beyond what he had imagined, "You're strong..."
As if waiting for this moment, Cora said excitedly, "Of course, Lily and I were representatives of Gods, Angels! This other fella is known as a Hero and a former representative of humans."
"That's impressive..." Finn was indeed surprised. Seeing there was nothing much to gain, he waved, "Alright then. Bye!"
"Eh?" Cora and Lily blurted out in unison.
Seeing Finn was truly heading out, Lily hurriedly said, "Where are you going? Are you not going to ask for our help to revive that god within you... or maybe even ask for us to help you."
The task regarding a God was something big. They had hoped Finn would show a bit of fear at the task at hand, eventually asking for their help. They'll then ask for something in return for helping him.
Finn scratched the top of his head, replying honestly, "Well, if I ask for that, you'll want something in return and granting that will be tough for me. And not to sound arrogant, I think I can find a way to go about helping this god, he seems to have a plan that I'll just follow..."
"True, for someone who arrived in this world not long ago, your growth is astonishing, this might also be his work." Lily acknowledged.
Tired of their scheme, a nonchalant voice said, "How foolish of you two. You seem to forget who this individual actually is."
