Chapter 3 - Awakened SSS-rank Buddha Mind!

[Host has received 3 years worth of course knowledge of all subjects taught at Exorcist Trainee Academy!]

Boom!

Information appeared in Cayden's brain.

He felt as if he had experienced the 3 years curriculum of an Exorcist Trainee Academy.

He gained maximum survival skills, basic leadership qualities and high-degree of combat experience.

There was no knowledge of Spirit Techniques.

They were not taught those; after all, it was impossible to learn Spirit Techniques before awakening Cursed Energy, like a blind person trying to learn about colors.

Still, he couldn't deny he had grown stronger.

If he fought a normal human now, he could subdue them within three moves!

One had to understand that Cayden never fought in his life nor did he ever receive formal combat training.

With just one reward, he became comparable to Exorcist Trainee Academy graduates!

'Does this mean the other bragging content will also give me something good?'

He watched the increasing numbers with anticipation.

The senior police officers words were helping him.

[Bragging Content: My brother is the wisest! Demons or ghosts, he can face everything without fear: 30/30]

[Host has awakened 'Buddha Mind' (SSS-rank)]

Booom!

He felt as if he was floating on cloud nine.

His mind relaxed and he became calm and composed.

The worries he had been harborning since arriving in this world disappeared.

'I will never fall to the temptations and corruption after gaining Buddha Mind.'

It seemed simple, but it was an awesome ability.

Unlike other Exorcists, he could absorb Cursed Energy, and he did not need to worry about the malevolent corruption.

The others failed to notice the astounding transformation in his demeanor brought by Buddha Mind.

They huddled together, afraid of the tremors spreading through the ground.

The shaking intensified.

Just when they thought it was an earthquake, an ear-splitting noise assaulted their eardrums.

Smoldering heat permeated the air and it became bright outside.

Too bright.

Cayden, followed by others, walked out of the police station.

They witnessed a massive meteor falling from the sky.

The city was thrown into chaos.

Some cried.

Some attempted to relive their darkest desires before death.

Some gave in to despair.

Some waited for the gateway to hell in anticipation.

Even the police officers, who stayed behind, despite knowing they might get caught up in their deaths, gasped.

Cayden was calm.

He stood silently with his brother.

Truth be told, he was worried about his father's safety, he hoped he would be able to escape the meteor's impact zone in time.

Nevertheless, he did not worry too much.

Worrying alone won't solve anything.

He stared at the beautiful sight in front of his eyes.

The fragments falling from the meteor were like burning golden flowers.

Soon it became too bright to see anything.

He couldn't make out the noise of the meteor's impact due to the sonic booms.

The gravity disappeared.

A thunder-like force struck him, followed by the sensation of his skin burning, and then everything stopped.

Cayden blinked.

When he could finally see again, he was standing in a different world.

He could tell at a glance that this wasn't human domain.

The hill, where he stood, gave him a panoramic view of the surroundings.

The red sky, filled with cracks, casted a gloomy aura.

Through the fog covering most of the land, he could see charred black soil, trees made of bones and strange fires replacing the leaves.

Occasionally, he could hear grunts, cries of help and strange murmurs.

It looked just as he had imagined.

Like a Hell.

He took a long breath.

The amount of Cursed Energy in demonic worlds was so much that even normal humans like him could feel it.

His skin prickled and, when he tried to listen, the strange murmurs grew louder.

He felt that he would be pulled in if he did not stop listening.

Raising his left hand, he stared at the Fate Points.

The '0' was pulsing with black light.

He pushed it and murmured.

"Draw."

A talisman appeared in his hand after a brief flash of light.

It was a rectangular yellow paper with a crude texture.

An unknown language was written on one side which he could read for some reason.

[Safe Zone Talisman]

[Time Limit: 24 hours]

One talisman was given to every human when they entered the demonic worlds for the first time.

The type of Talisman drawn depended on one's luck.

Safe Zone Talisman was the most basic Talisman.

Almost everyone received it.

It could create a small area, where, once inside, demons could not see you, given that you did not do stupid things like attacking the demon and hiding inside the Safe Zone in front of its eyes.

Cayden did not set out to search for his brother immediately.

He was weak right now.

First he had to gain strength.

He looked for a cave and found it after searching on the hill for an hour.

Throughout the way, he was careful to not leave behind any trails.

The cave's entrance was small and it wouldn't be found easily.

The cave itself was quite long so it was another plus point.

He confirmed no one was living inside.

After settling in the deepest part, he used the Safe Zone Talisman.

It shot out of his hands and flew above his head, leaking faint rays of golden light.

The light weaved in the air, forming words, which spread on the ground in a circle around him.

The Talisman was activated.

He was safe as long as he did not leave the boundary of the words

Sitting crossed leg, he tried to pull the Cursed Energy in the air into himself.

Cursed Energy originated from negative emotions and the demon worlds were full of it.

It could be used to open Spirit Nodes.

Spirit Nodes were present inside everyone.

They connected the physical body and the soul.

Spirit Nodes could be found by circulating Cursed Energy inside the body.

It was a crude method.

Cayden, however, did not need to waste time searching for Spirit Nodes.
