Chapter 37: Expansion

"Zerg swarm, crush them."

Tens of thousands of Zerg race monsters, with the mother nest as their starting point, swarmed into every part of the city in groups. Under the command of the mother nest, Commander rank Zerg units led their armies to surround and hunt the monsters in the city.

The entire city was in an uproar, with deafening roars and desperate screams echoing everywhere.

A group of Iron Armored Scorpions quickly moved through the ruins of the city, as if something terrifying was chasing them from behind. They didn't notice that in the shadows, a Two-Tailed Tiger Cat revealed its bloodthirsty fangs.

The leading Iron Armored Scorpion suddenly let out a sharp explosion-like sound. A dark figure flashed by, and its hard head was actually smashed, spilling an unknown white liquid. Behind them, a rustling sound approached as a group of Tiger Mastiffs surrounded them from all directions. Finally, led by a Bloodthirsty Tank, they began the slaughter.

On a slightly narrow street, dozens of monsters peacefully occupied the area, creating a harmonious atmosphere. At both ends of the street, groups of Tiger Mastiffs surrounded them, and on the dilapidated buildings on both sides of the street, Shadow Cats moved and leaped in the shadows.

The hunt has begun.

In the sky, flocks of Gray Cloud Sparrows swooped down, like arrows raining from the heavens, grabbing monsters and throwing them from the air to their deaths. Some of the more ferocious Gray Cloud Sparrows even tore the monsters they caught apart in mid-air.

A territorial eagle-type Commander rank monster flew into a rage. These Gray Cloud Sparrows actually dared to openly challenge it in front of it. This eagle-type monster spread its wings, with a wingspan exceeding twenty meters. Its massive body, in front of these sparrow-type monsters with a wingspan of only about a meter, was like a sky curtain.

Just as it flapped its wings and accelerated beyond the speed of sound to pounce on the Gray Cloud Sparrows. A Golden Vulture, even larger in size, with black upper wing feathers that faintly shimmered with a silver-gray luster and golden lower feathers, descended from the high sky like a divine weapon, engaging in a fierce battle with the eagle-type monster.

Feathers fell from the sky, and flesh splattered across the ground. The city fell into unprecedented chaos, with battles everywhere, from the sky to the ground, until all the monsters were fighting with bloodshot eyes.

"Mother nest, mark the location of the next target."

Hundreds of meters in the sky, Qin Mu stood on a Golden Vulture, wearing black combat gear, holding a long spear, with eleven short spears floating behind him.

"The target has been marked. The target is an intermediate Commander rank Lion Mastiff, guarded by more than 100 high-level Soldier rank Lion Mastiffs."

"Very good, I'll use it for actual combat practice, to practice my body technique and spear technique."

The strongest monsters in this city were only at the high-level Commander rank. Naturally when the mother nest has produced a large number of Commander rank monsters, Qin Mu no longer needed to charge at the front.

With a thought, the Golden Vulture beneath his feet dived down. When it was still more than twenty meters from the ground, Qin Mu jumped off, landing with a thud.

"Roar——" The startled Lion Mastiffs instantly flew into a rage, letting out deafening roars and lunging with their gaping jaws.

Qin Mu, however, was fearless. Without using his spirit power, he held his long spear and charged forward. The force in his hand exploded, and the long spear pierced into the eye socket of a Lion Mastiff at an extremely tricky angle. A burst of dark energy erupted inside its brain, killing it instantly.

The intermediate Commander rank Lion Mastiff pounced fiercely, but Qin Mu's body twisted slightly, dodging it by a hair's breadth. Qin Mu was like a slippery fish, weaving through the Lion Mastiff group, his long spear occasionally thrusting out, each time taking the life of a Lion Mastiff.

And these Lion Mastiffs, every time they attacked, just missed by a tiny margin, unable to harm Qin Mu at all. Moreover, Qin Mu even used their massive bodies to block the attacks of other Lion Mastiffs. There was a Lion Mastiff that was hit by its own leader, breaking its leg bone, and then was killed by a spear through the throat.

Not only that, but Qin Mu also used the stones, steel, and concrete ruins on the battlefield. This was no longer just the micro-level body technique, but a glimpse of the perfection level of body technique.

The so-called perfection level body technique meant being able to control the surrounding environment during combat, using any object in the surroundings, such as life forms, stones, buildings, etc., to perfectly utilize the environment and dodge with the utmost precision.

"Crack——"

As Qin Mu maneuvered and dodged, his foot stepped on a piece of building rubble. The rubble, which had been battered by wind and rain, suddenly collapsed, causing Qin Mu's movement to deform. The Lion Mastiff leader seized the opportunity to bite.

"A mistake." Qin Mu was slightly startled but not panicked.

An invisible force enveloped his alloy combat boots, forcibly lifting Qin Mu's body, allowing him to flip over and dodge the Lion Mastiff leader's attack. At the critical moment, Qin Mu used his spirit power to dodge this attack.

"Still not proficient." Qin Mu understood that he had experienced too few actual battles, so it was inevitable that mistakes would occur.

While Qin Mu was honing his body technique. Near the mother nest, five Golden Vultures formed a flight formation, flapping their wings and soaring into the sky. Three of the Golden Vultures each carried worker bugs, primary Commander rank Tiger Mastiffs, and Two-Tailed Tiger Cats in their claws, while the other two Golden Vultures flew as escorts. After joining a group of Gray Cloud Sparrows in the sky, they formed a large team and flew towards the wilderness. This was already the third team to take off from the mother nest. Compared to the other two teams, this one was even larger in number.

They flew eastward, deep into the wilderness, and stopped over a particularly dense jungle. They circled in the sky for a while, confirming that there was no danger before landing. A Commander rank Tiger Mastiff and a Two-Tailed Tiger Cat landed, guarding the area and protecting a worker bug as it entered a hidden cave.

The interior space of the cave was vast, easily accommodating even a second-level mother nest. After the worker Zerg entered the cave, it found a suitable spot and automatically began to hatch into a mother nest. As the mother nest began to hatch, clumps of Fungus Carpet spread rapidly like flowing water, covering the entire cave and still not stopping, continuing to expand outward.

The Golden Vultures and Gray Cloud Sparrows in the sky did not leave immediately but used the advantage of flying monsters and their sharp eyes to find monsters hidden in the jungle. Once a hidden monster was discovered, it would be attacked by the group. Under the leadership of the five Golden Vultures, no monster could withstand such an attack.

Corpses of monsters rained down from the sky, landing near the cave, where they were dragged in by the Tiger Mastiffs and Two-Tailed Tiger Cats and placed on the Fungus Carpet to be converted into energy needed by the Zerg swarm.

Three hours later, the mother nest hatched successfully, and more and more Zerg units were hatched. A new round of battles and hunts began.

And before this, the other two mother nests in the counties had also hatched successfully and started fighting with the surrounding monsters.

It was the beginning of the full expansion of the swarm.
