Chapter 41: The Scent of Conspiracy

A Black Crowned Golden Eagle soared freely in the sky. Behind it followed a large group of flying monsters, including various types of eagles and a multitude of Golden Vultures.

"I never expected that taming this Black Crowned Golden Eagle would also net me a large group of eagle-type monsters for free."

Watching the Black Crowned Golden Eagle soar in the sky, Qin Mu felt exhilarated. After being treated by the mother nest, the Black Crowned Golden Eagle had recovered to normal, and upon its recovery, it gave Qin Mu a pleasant surprise.

Originally, this Black Crowned Golden Eagle, as a Horde Leader monster, was not alone. Under its command was a vast group of monsters. Among them were two high-level Commander rank monsters, one being the Black Crowned Golden Eagle and the other a Wind Chaser Eagle. There were also over ten other types of eagle-type commander monsters, numbering more than fifty, and thousands of Soldier rank monsters.

This was a considerable force, and now it had become part of the Zerg race's strength.

If these monsters had followed the Black Crowned Golden Eagle from the beginning, Qin Mu wouldn't have won so easily.

Moreover, the Black Crowned Golden Eagle, as a Horde Leader monster, ruled over a region. Although it was in the suburbs and not very large, it was quite beneficial for the development of the Zerg race. This made Qin Mu consider enslaving a few more Horde Leader monsters, but after enslaving the Black Crowned Golden Eagle, his spirit power had been greatly consumed, and he would need at least a day before he could enslave another.

Lastly, the Zerg swarm had discovered a number of broken human weapons and equipment in the Black Crowned Golden Eagle's nest. Unfortunately, they were all Commander rank weapons and equipment, not worth much money.

However, this reminded Qin Mu of something. This city was different from County 0203. County 0203 was just a small county, remote and with almost no fighters hunting monsters.

This city was large, with millions of monsters, Commander rank monsters everywhere, a handful of Horde Leader monsters, and even King rank monsters roaming the city, so it attracted many humans to hunt monsters.

The Zerg swarm had already discovered twelve human fighter squads. Fortunately, the city was vast, and the Zerg swarm had not yet encountered human fighters. Of course, if they did encounter them, it wouldn't matter. Qin Mu wouldn't deliberately hunt humans, but if attacked, the Zerg swarm would naturally retaliate.

"I still need to find ways to hunt more monsters and make more money." Qin Mu felt uncomfortable because his strength had improved too quickly, and the weapons he used always lagged behind his growth.

Originally, Qin Mu had only bought eleven short spears, but after some training, he could easily control twelve.

After the mother nest's upgrade, the feedback power not only brought Qin Mu to the primary Wargod level but also greatly enhanced his control ability. Now, Qin Mu could easily control twenty short spears, and even the training equipment was almost insufficient. This led to the situation where, due to the lack of sufficient weapons, Qin Mu couldn't fully display his strength.

Not only that, Qin Mu also needed a lot of money to purchase the subsequent volumes of the "Destroyer" technique and the 'Spirit Master Basics'.

Just the first two levels of "Destroyer" cost 1 billion. The second purchase did not come with a 50% discount. The first three levels cost even more, 5 billion.

He was not satisfied with the sixty-plus Commander rank monsters hunted by him and the Zerg swarm during this period.

According to the general price of monster materials, the important materials of a primary Commander rank monster could sell for 5 million to 15 million. The important materials of a mid-level Commander rank monster could sell for 10 million to over 100 million. The important materials of a high-level Commander rank monster could sell for 50 million to around 600-700 million.

Most of the materials in Qin Mu's possession were from the primary Commander rank, with only a few from the high-level Commander rank, totaling over 3 billion. This rate of earning money was actually quite fast, but he was still not satisfied. Because there were too many places to spend money, and this amount was far from enough, not even enough to buy the first three levels of "Destroyer."

Qin Mu couldn't stay in the wilderness all the time, because it was already August 16th. Ordinary military students had already started school on August 12th and needed to undergo three months of new recruit training.

As a military colonel and a member of the fighter special recruitment class, Qin Mu did not need to participate in the new recruit training like ordinary military students, but he still needed to go to school before the 20th to handle some enrollment-related matters.

Thanks to the flying monsters like the Golden Vultures and the Black Crowned Golden Eagle, Qin Mu didn't need to spend days on the road like before; he could make the trip back in a single day.

Therefore, these days could be fully utilized to make money. In fact, to earn more money, the Black Crowned Golden Eagle had already started hunting for Qin Mu with its subordinates.

The Black Crowned Golden Eagle let out a loud cry and swooped down from the sky. A high-level Commander rank snake-type monster was caught in mid-air and lost the ability to resist with a light peck from the Black Crowned Golden Eagle.

While making money, the Zerg swarm also intentionally hunted some amphibious monsters. The mother nest had already begun to analyze the genes of some amphibious monsters, preparing to hatch aquatic Zerg units.

Just as Qin Mu thought he would spend the remaining time hunting, an unexpected situation arose.

"Beep——" "Beep——"

On a street, Qin Mu was hunting monsters when the military combat watch on his wrist suddenly vibrated. After clearing out all the monsters, Qin Mu raised his hand to check the information transmitted by the military combat watch.

It was a distress signal. A distress signal sent by a military fighter squad.

The distress signal indicated that this was a squad executing a special mission, with a non-combatant special member. They were suddenly discovered by a group of monsters and were surrounded and attacked. They had no choice but to ask for help from nearby fighter squads. At first, Qin Mu thought it was just bad luck for the military fighter squad to be discovered by monsters.

Because the distance to this military squad was not very far, and following the principle of helping if possible, Qin Mu dispatched several Golden Vultures and a group of Gray Cloud Sparrows to scout the area and assess the situation. However, the information sent back by the Zerg swarm made Qin Mu realize something was amiss.

Twenty miles away from Qin Mu, in the ruins of a residential area, a six-man military fighter squad was fleeing in disarray. One of the military fighters was carrying an elderly man with white hair on his back, protected by the others. Behind them, thousands of monsters were frantically pursuing, including several powerful Commander rank monsters. Faced with such a scale of monsters, even Wargod experts would not dare to confront them head-on and could only avoid them.

Two military fighters operated large heavy machine guns, firing frantically at the monsters behind them, trying to block their approach. Although the heavy machine guns were effective, the noise from the firearms was too loud, attracting even more monsters.

This scene was not particularly strange but as the military squad fled for their lives and continued to call for help, a Golden Vulture scouting for intelligence discovered another fighter squad not far from the military squad. Most of the members of this fighter squad were Caucasian. They seemed to be intentionally guiding the surrounding monsters towards the military squad, which was clearly abnormal.

For a moment, Qin Mu smelled the scent of conspiracy.
