Idris, Livia and Scarlett stood in the royal court in front of the King, they were there to get his final permission before they headed for the mission, they were asked to go to the den of the dragon who tried to kidnap the princess. They have found rumours that the dragon was not doing the kidnap on his own, he was being controlled. Though it was hard due to Idris disintegrating his body, they found pieces of ornament suspected of controlling the dragon. But the only way this could be known is if they get to the den.
"We will be taking our leave Your Majesty", Said Idris as they all bowed in front of him.
But the King asked them in confusion," But what about the last member of your party, that white-haired boy."
"Sir, unfortunately, the den is a mana-dense zone and unfortunately, he doesn't have any magic", answered Idris.
That shocked the king as well as all the ministers standing there, which annoyed the party.
"And so I was thinking of replacing his place with the princ-", as he was saying it he was interrupted by Kauri," wait!!", he shouted.
Finally, he had arrived at the court but what hurt Idris was that the Princess arrived after him," were they together?", the thought came to his mind. but there was not much time for him to think as Kauri came beside him.
"I am ready for the mission", said Kauri bowing in front of the king.
"But I heard that you are unable to use magic. You are a brave warrior and I respect that so please don't give up your life in such a petty way", said the king.
"He is right, please just stop!!", said Idris in a worried tone, his eyes showed fear for him.
Kauri looked at Idris for a moment, there was a gentle smile on his face, something which was a rare occurrence. Then, he lifted his hand up and suddenly out of nowhere, his sword came in his hand. Everyone there was shocked, as they were just told that he couldn't use magic. And even more were the party members, each one's face looked as if they had seen a ghost, and their jaw dropped to the floor.
"With the help of Princess Anushna, I was able to unlock my magic, though I may not be at my fullest, I think I will be able to assist you in the mission", he explained.
The princess was smiling on the side, for her it was pure entertainment, seeing Kauri humbling himself but his power saying otherwise. Very dense mana was seeping out of him, same as when Idris used his spear attack but for Kauri it was a constant.
"I will be able to help you now", said Kauri to Idris.
That made Idris give a weak smile and he says," Great then, let us go."
And they started the walk towards the gate.
"Kauri you have gotten stronger, so for god sake, do some heavy lifting in the fight", said Scarlett trying to make fun of him, but unlike other times.
"Yeah, sure do, while you can just stand behind and babble around after all everyone should do what they are good at", replied Kauri giving tit for tat.
That made both Scarlett and Livia baffled by what they heard, and so was Idris but he didn't show a thing, behind Anushna was giggling trying to stop herself from laughing at this at least Kauri knew that he had done it correctly. Idris ignored that and said," Come on guys, let's get going fast."
After a while they were on the island, it was a volcanic island, whole black due to the magma that had formed it. There was good greenery on one side while on the other the mouth to a very huge cave opened. They entered it, slowly stepping inside, it was pitch black the only light was from the opening above and the torches placed on the wall, and hence they had to walk with each step placed in a way that they were not seen. The shadow formed may give away the element of surprise. They were in their usual formation with Kauri leading the way Idris behind him and the two ladies in the back. Everyone was tip-toeing their way to not alert the people with the sound of their steps, except for Kauri, for his footsteps never made any sound.
But this didn't make it a hundred per cent foolproof plan as two men suddenly arrived from the corner in front of them, but before they could say anything Kauri moved in quickly and took them out. And he slowly placed them down, to make no sound.
They were in a corner when they saw it, their eyes couldn't believe what they were seeing, there were people, that was what they were expecting but other than that there were multiple dragons, five to be precise. At that moment even the adventurous Idris was made to think if he should go back and ask for more men for support in this battle.
But that was not possible as the man sitting in between all of them suddenly shouted, "If it isn't the legendary hero and his servants!!"
They all were dumbfounded by this," how did he know we were here, I thought we took all the precautions", said Livia.
"Come on, you can come out of there, I was able to see you from the very moment you entered", added the man.
And so they had to come out clean, they were in front of each other, the hero and the bandit. His dragons stood behind him, each one different in colour, one was white, others grey, blue, crimson and golden.
"It is very nice to meet you all, my name is Gibor, my surname is not required and you people, well you certainly need no introduction", said the man.
On this, Idris gave off a serious smile, but Kauri had already heard this name during the fight near the tree of Gaia so, he asked," You are the one who asked those men to cut down the sacred tree."
"Oh you know about that, and are you the reason why those men of mine have not come back?", asked Gibor and Kauri confirmed it.
"And now what, why are you here, what do you want?", asked him in a threatening tone.
"We would need you to stop whatever you have been doing here. And come with us, to the Royal court. You will be charged with the crime of attempting to kidnap the princess", answered back Idris in an assertive tone.
Listening to that, the man started laughing and with him did all his men and then he answered back in an infuriated tone," First you came and stopped my dragon from completing his task, even killing him and then you killed my man trying to get some wood, and now you want me to surrender. Are you insane or do you think I will give myself up!!".
"Then, you give us no choice but to fight you, just so you know you will die miserably", added Scarlett.
That made him start laughing," Kill me!! Miserably!! Hell no, the only reason you were able to kill that dragon of mine was that he was distracted, but this time there are five of them, and also there is my man, do you think this will be easy", he answered back ordering his dragons to attack.
This fight is not going to be an easy one, even with us all here thought Idris, and he was right. This fight will be the one that will change the power dynamics of the world, taking it from the golden blaze of the sun and placing it under the serene white hue of the moon.
