Suddenly a lot of mana started revolving around Gibor, he was ready to use his life to kill Anushna if that is what it takes.
"It is the responsibility of you heroes and the nobles, the royalty to save the people who need it, and you have failed. And I think this will be the best way for you to pay for what you have not done. Same as i have lost someone due to your negligence, you will loss someone too!!". Then, he directed his mana towards the white dragon.
"Go and destroy the palace, Kill That Princess", he ordered. Hearing that the dragon started to take his leave, flying straight to the top, breaking the wall and he flew away.
Looking at Kauri, he then said," How wonderful it be, when she dies in the hand of a white dragon, she will surely remember you", with that he fell to the ground. Using up all his mana, he was dead.
Listening to that Kauri was alerted, he had to be fast, so he moved swiftly, cutting down the vines that were holding his crew and also cutting the dragon's eye to free Idris. Then, in a brief moment, he said to him," You take care of these three on your own i will go and help Anushna!!"
Without even hearing an answer he was out, running swiftly towards the cave's mouth, from there he could see it, the dragon flying towards the palace with great speed and so he also started moving as fast as he could." I have to go quickly and take her away from this populous region", he thought.
On the other hand, the people of Gandhar saw a sight that they remembered too well, a dragon was flying over their heads, it is just that before it was a black dragon while now it was a white one. Not only that it was much larger than the previous one, seeing it everybody started running to their housing shutting themselves in, looking through the window waiting for the inevitable to happen.
On the horizon, they could hear the emergency bell being rung. The royal guards could also see the herculean monster coming towards them, and in a moment he was on the building. The people could hear the sounds of soldiers screaming and the dragon roaring, but then there was something they didn't expect to hear. The sound of thunder. And with that, they saw a white streak of light passing through the road straight towards the palace.
It was Kauri running as fast as he could, now that he had magic he could run much faster and even with that his legs remained fine. He stood in front of the Palace buildings, the entrance to it was closed by pieces of debris.
Then, he saw some soldiers coming from behind," Sir Kauri, where were you, and where are the other heroes, the dragon has attacked us."
"I know, long story short, there are multiple of these dragons, the other heroes are fighting them just now. I am here to save the princess. I will need your help, clear the nearby region of all the people you can, I will handle the rest but", he said.
"I will need the help of some other magic user to take away this piece of rubble out."
"The only mana user here was the priest but he was hurt at the start of the assault, other than that all other ones are on the border fighting the demons", the soldier answered back.
With that Kauri knew he had to do it all by himself, and he sent the soldiers away to protect the people.
After which he slammed himself on the wall trying to pass through it but still there was no way he could do so." dammit!!", he said calmly, only a bit his hands and feet could pass and so he had to change his plan. Maybe he could climb but it would take time. And then he got an idea, there were four towers by the side of the palace, mostly they were there for decoration and so he started running towards the tower beside of him when he was close he made a big jump as high as possible, his feet went in the wall but he didn't stop there, using the moment he propelled himself towards the main building doing the same and using this method he quick got to the highest floor, getting in by breaking the glass ceiling.
Inside he could see the princess and the king and there were some ministers and soldiers too, they were trying to distract the dragon so they may be able to let the princess and king get out.
"You should get away Anushna, I will take care of this beast", said the king as he took out his sword, behind him stood Anushna holding her hand," no Father that won't do, you are not strong enough, just get out of here with me!!", she cried.
But before they could have a heartwarming moment the dragon started to spew flames towards them. Both of them would have been turned to ashes but suddenly huge columns appeared out of nowhere and they shielded them. It was Kauri using his dimensional pocket, using the pillars he had placed in it during his walk through the ruins.
Finally, Kauri and Anushna had met again, and seeing him the king cried," Hero you are here!! Go please take away Anushna out of here."
"I am afraid that won't do, he is here to kill her, and wherever she goes he will follow her", he answered in a saddened tone.
"What!! kill her!!", shouted the king, Kauri answered," Yes, and the only way to protect her would be by killing this beast."
Saying so he moved away from the columns," don't worry Sir, I promised you I would protect Anushna, and I intend on keeping that promise", said Kauri, as he took out his sword. This made Anushna tear up too. But right now he was not alone as the King came out too.
"Don't worry hero, I will make sure to be able to keep the promise", he said drawing out his sword.
"Great then I will be the distraction while you attack him with the strongest attack you got", he told the king, with that Kauri started to move from the side, transferring the shields and swords to the wall in his dimensional pocket while the king moved from the other side, while hiding behind the pillars charging his attack.
The whole room was covered in mana, there was greenish mana coming out of the king as he charged his attack, while there was the white mana that engulfed the whole room coming out of Kauri and the Dragon, this was turning the whole region into a mana-dense region. This was making all the normal ministers and the soldiers faint.
Kauri moved from the side, he jumped towards the dragon, he saw him coming too and so he released his furious fire, but Kauri used the shield bringing them all in front of him to make a multilayered shield, the constant barrage of fire was able to melt them but before it could melt them all, Kauri was on top of him," I won't be able to reuse this idea", he said to himself.
It was now or never for him and so he attacked the dragon, severing one of his eyes off but before he could go for the other one, he was slashed by the dragon, cutting him deep in the stomach, at the same time the king was able to use his attack severing that hand of the dragon.
This made the dragon go into a rage, he started swinging his tail around the room breaking all the pillars and making the ceiling collapse, as it fell though it was painful it was Kauri's job to save everyone and so he saved all the soldiers, ministers and the king by getting them under the column that the princess was hiding under.
By now the king was totally exhausted, he was sweating from how much he had to exert himself in such an age. On the other hand, Kauri's situation wasn't any good, he was holding tightly to his stomach, and if let it go everything inside would fall out.
"Kauri what happened to you!!", cried the princess. But at that moment the dragon's assault started again, but this time the fire was blue instead of red, it was much denser and was slowly even making the rock columns melt.
"Maybe I should let myself get killed", cried Anushna as tears came out of her eyes seeing her father and Kauri in such a state.
"Are you mad Anush-!!", shouted the king but was interrupted by Anushna," The dragon wants me, not anybody else. Till I am here he will keep destroying this place. There are more than just us in the palace and if this palace collapses they will all die!!".
"That is it, we have to get away from here!!", said Kauri calmly. With that he took the shawl Anushna was wearing and used it to tightly bind his torso.
"What are you doing, Kauri? Taking a girl's shawl. Don't you know it means the self-respect for a lady", screamed the king.
But Kauri was busy with his stuff, so he grabbed Anushna, carrying her on his shoulders."Life matters more at this moment, I will be taking Anushna out of here."
"What!!?", asked the king.
"The dragon is after her, i can't protect her and you all together, so I will be taking her away. So there are less distractions."
With that he got near the sphere of fire that engulfed him, going straight would be suicidal and so he used the remaining broken pillar in his dimensional pocket, placing in a way that there was an opening in it for him, running through it quickly before it got engulfed too.
After he was out of there, he started running as quickly as possible, he jumped out of the building, " there is no need for you to die, till I am here", he said to the princess still focused on his task, which touched her heart," right, I believe in you."
The dragon seeing this started to follow them out too. Leaving the helpless King and his kin alive but in bad condition. Kauri used his sword to decrease his speed by cutting into the building. Once he was down, he started running again going outside of the city again towards the lake and the dragon's den, maybe with the help of Idris he would be able to take out the dragon, he thought.
But he was being followed by the dragon, the high-speed winds created by his wings destroying the buildings in his way, he started throwing fireballs out of his mouth but luckily, Kauri was able to dodge them all. He ran straight towards the lake.
His stomach still was hurting, and even with the first aid he had done, it was slowly bleeding out of. Running was becoming quite a chore for him, but gritting his teeth, he kept up the pace.
He at last was close to the lake but the dragon was onto them, using his flames he closed off the lake breaking their path. There was no way he could go through the fire, without getting burnt to crisp. He got ready to get back, but that path was also closed, Anushna and Kauri now were trapped by fire from all the sides. And with that, the dragon landed in front of them, he was all white, and his teeth could be seen menacing as he growled towards them, they looked through his three eyes as one was sliced one was bleeding and so was his severed arm.
"Kauri, get away from me. He is here for me so let him kill me, you can live your life. let me just tell you one thin-", Anushna was saying but was stopped by Kauri," I always keep my promises Anushna, I will keep you safe!!."
With that, he gently placed her down. Then he took a deep breath and slapped himself to get his brain back up and running, " this will be hard", saying so he started walking towards the dragon.
At the start the dragon was confused too, a human walking straight towards him, with no weapon in his hand, his eyes showed calmness. He did not fear the great dragon, though how much he make growled. The boy weak in stature kept up his pace, even slowly increasing it. This made the dragon maddeningly furious, at as the last resort, The dragon opened its mouth and spewed forth a torrent of blue flames much stronger and deadlier.
"KAURIIII!!!", screamed Anushna.
Seeing the great wall of fire coming towards him, Kauri kept his breathing calm and lifted his hand towards the fire. And slowly, the fire that was coming towards him started vanishing. He still didn't show anything other than calm serenity. He was constantly putting these flames in his dimensional pocket, protecting himself and in turn protecting the princess.
The dragon was made to stop his attack as he was confused too, seeing this Kauri quickly moved towards him to get the first hit. The dragon tried to slash him with his claws but it was already severed by the King and so Kauri was able to touch him.
He gently placed his hand on the dragon and some white light covered them both, it spreaded around a huge portion of the dragon's chest and then a big chunk of where the dragon's vital organs were, a very big hole appeared. Kauri has transferred it to his dimensional pocket.
Now, the dragon was the one who was trying to retreat, he was the one who was hurt, so he took a chaotic flight trying to run away as quickly as possible. Kauri had made a dragon afraid of him. His blank expression were a thousand times more terrifying than what disobeying his summoner could ever be. But before he could run away, something once already seen before happened. A golden spear came, disintegrating the dragon. Not even leaving a single bone.
It was Idris's. When Kauri looked where it came from, he saw Idris in front while both the ladies rowed the boat. They were all able to come upshore again. Idris stood proud in between the broken crowd.
Both the girls were gasping for air tried by the physical labour they had to do while Idris swiftly moved towards the princess, even now Anushna was still unable to comprehend what had happened, she was lost in her thoughts, tears dripping from her eyes.
"Princess, are you alright?", asked Idris.
This made her come back to her senses, she swiped her tears and cried," Yes, I am alright but Kauri, what about him, is he safe. He has been hurt very badly, go help him!!".
This made Idris lose his smile for a second and turn serious, but then suddenly a voice came from behind them," Yeah, I am alright", as they saw Kauri was coming back from in between the smoke, one hand still holding his stomach slowly limping he came near them.
"What happened to you?", asked Idris.
"Nothing he is an idiot, who got himself hurt fighting just one dragon while we were made to take on three at the same time!!", cried Livia.
"Their strength had been greatly reduced once the summoner had died and so that's why he left them with us, after all, that was the reason why we were done so quickly. I could have easily defeated five such dragons at once. That white dragon was the one that was dangerous, that Gibor placed all his mana to the final drops in him making it far stronger", answered Idris for him.
"Yeah", said Kauri," but still three dragons this quickly, you have done quite a job, Idris!!", said Kauri with a weak smile.
"Yeah what did you expect, we are no losers like you, we were able to easily take care of them, with no help from you and on the other hand you were given one job and even so you were not able to do it. We expected you to protect the princess and slay one lonely dragon and even so, you expertly shattered all Idris's expectations. At last, Idris was the one who had to take done that dragon", said Scarlett.
"No, that is where you are wrong", cried Anushna," the dragon was running away, he was already mortally wounded, Kauri did accomplish his mission, and I am all safe and sound here."
"It doesn't matter who killed what, the only thing important is everyone is safe, we must get go-", before Kauri could complete his sentence, he fell on the ground, fainting due to the blood he had lost in this whole fight.
