Chereads / System X Bloodline / Chapter 14 - Easy Stage

Chapter 14 - Easy Stage

[shall we begin]

As the message appeared fully on the screen, Kaiza couldn't help but gasp, wondering what this meant.

"A game?" he asked in his mind with a fear and disbelieving smile on his face. However he wasn't expecting an answer but what happened at the door happened again.

[A hero game]

The message was typed in slowly before it fully appeared on the screen. Kaiza got answers to his question but just then more questions flooded his mind as he thought about what the consequences of losing at the door was. Is it also death too? He wondered.

Even though he wanted death to stop his unending chase and run. The moment he walked into this magnificent room Kaiza's heart was somehow wanting and desiring for more to explore the world and see more good things. The thought of dying was scrapped off his mind in a blink.

"Will I get a reward for winning the game?" Kaiza asked, almost determined to play, saying his words out to the screen like a person was there to hear him out. Kaiza assumed there was someone controlling the systems since the instructions don't appear at once. And it seems like it was being typed by someone watching him. But after his conclusion he was hit by another question.

How could the person read the questions he asked in his mind? He couldn't answer this question so he dropped his conclusion, embracing another deep thinking to give a more concrete conclusion grounded with evidence. But that would be for later.

Kaiza was expecting a message to be typed on the screen again just like before but no answer was on the screen, what was on the screen now was the answer from his last in-mind asked question. The answer remained there for as long as it could while Kaiza waited for an answer to his new question.

Then he asked in his mind. "I hope death isn't the consequences for asking a question?" he was somewhat scared this system or system controller may want to get him killed. But for what? Kaiza was just being bothered and worried now. How could someone read his mind? He had only heard about psychologists predicting a person's behavior but with empirical methods not basely assumptions. Also if the system could scan his mind and get questions from there... That was impossible, humanity hasn't gotten that far in advanced technology. He concluded clearing his mind off that totally.

[You can ask 2 more questions]

After this message was typed on the screen, then Kaiza noticed a deduction in a number located at the button left of the rectangular screen. And then changed into fraction 2/5

"That's the question I have left to ask before the game begins or can I ask questions during the game?" He asked with words coming out of his mouth. So the screen didn't provide answers.

Then Kaiza in his mind came up with an explanation. When he asked questions in his mind the screen gave answers but his questions asked orally were totally ignored. That meant one thing. The screen only answers questions coming from the mind.

So Kaiza thought to himself to try this out, also considering he has two questions left to ask. He decided to ask a question related to the game and can guarantee him winning the game.

"What are the consequences of losing the game?"

[When a game is lost, host is faced with death penalty]

Like Kaiza had assumed he knew that was the answer all he wanted was to test if his assumption were true.

"What's the reward for winning?" he asked the reverse version of his question to know perhaps the reward would entice him to endeavor to win. Even without the reward the guy still wanted to win.

[The reward for winning is power]

As soon as the messages were typed out and settled on the screen Kaiza stared in amazement. Then wondered what the reward could be? What would this hero game grant him? Just as he wondered about this further the screen chimed and another message appeared.

[The game will start now]

[Game instructions are simple]

[You are a hero. Play hero]

At this time Kaiza was focused and determined to win the game no matter the odds. He was willing to see the reward the game would bring him. Whatever it could be he wanted to know.

Then some list of stats began to roll out on the screen.

[ Number of questions - 5]

[Number of questions answered correctly - 0]

[Number of questions answered wrongly - 0]

Then below was a list of stages in questions to be asked.

[Level 1 (easy) - 2 questions (2 marks)]

[Level 2 (intermediate) - 2 questions (4 marks)

[Level 3 (difficult) - 1 questions (5 marks)]

After Kaiza saw this, he interpreted it to himself. He knew as the questions asked progressed they would get harder. Whatever the question was he hoped he got them correct but what does it mean to be a hero?

Kaiza wasn't so sure what that meant yet. He pondered over that question for a while. Does it mean to save people just as the World Hero did during the Dowolves beast first world war attack? Or defeating a single villain? Kaiza couldn't settle on an answer no matter how hard he tried to. It was a little difficult. He was a great fan of the World Heros and knew a little more if not all about them. They were life savers and defeated humanity's greatest calamity and nemesis. But does it still mean to be a hero or playing hero?

A chiming sound echoed in the room, made by the system. It was to draw Kaiza out of his head for a moment to see the next information he needed before the game began.

On the screen a battery like bar was presented without more information.

"What does this mean?" Kaiza asked, his lips barely parted.

Further Kaiza noticed the battery bar was reduced by half. The bars the battery contained were ten all together. Five was gone but what does that mean?

Just then some information began to appear on the screen.

[You have five life bars already]

[Missed questions deduce your life]

[Correct questions increases your life]

[Make sure your life bar isn't lowered below 7]

Kaiza processed the information for a while to get the best understanding he could. Interpreting it to himself in a language he best understood.

"It means I have to raise my life bar above seven and never below seven. If it is below seven I guess that means death. I must get the answer to the first two stages and try hard to get the the third stage right to"

As Kaiza completed his thoughts. The system chimed and a new message appeared.

[Let's begin]

Kaiza inhaled deeply and exhaled after.

[Level 1 (easy) - Questions should be answer within the time limit of thirty seconds]

[First question]

[Is heroism learned or is it an innate quality?]

After the question appeared, options were provided below to choose from. Two options were 'Innate quality' and 'learned'. Then the time began to reduce in quantity.

Kaiza smiled at the question. To him, it was a cheap question. Who wouldn't know the answer to this. But before he picked an answer a third option appeared BOTH. The time was below twenty seconds now.

Then he began to reason. Heroism can be learned. It requires processes and stages before one could get there. Also a person can be born with some power like in the world right now, there are people born with the abilities of their family lineage. Following the war, there were people who confirmed there were blue blood humans.

And after they discovered a purple bloodline human who had the abilities to perform what ordinary red blood humans couldn't also the blue blood. The purple blood humans were killed because they were considered monsters. Kaiza had read about this so it was hard for him to choose an answer just yet. What he considered cheap. And this was just the easy stage.
