Kaiza kept looking back as the car rode away. Soon Keaton vanished and he was completely out of Kaiza sight. Despite this he occasionally looked back to see if anyone or anything was after him. But since he couldn't see a trace of anyone, his mind began to settle as he took in some deep breath.
All of a sudden the driver stepped on the break, the car coming to a halt abruptly in the middle of the road. They hadn't gotten to the busy part of the city so there were almost no cars in the area yet. The last car that passed was about ten minutes ago or so. The place was overly silent.
Kaiza was alerted as the car stopped without a beforehand notice. Then he asked the driver what the problem was but the man didn't give an answer. The man remained quiet for a while. That got Kaiza worried. His heart began to beat hard again in his chest. Fear was written boldly on his forehead.
Just then the man started gasping, his hand placed below his neck like he was out of breath. The man was choking.
Kaiza noticed the sudden change in the man's behavior as he began to breathe heavily, making a loud sound in the car. Kaiza was calmer. He had thought it was an attack of his chasers on the driver that made him stop the car. Since it wasn't he was much calmer but also was curious what had happened to the man. This wasn't the right time for him to be sick.
Kaiza moved closer to take a better look but all he could see was a man dressed in black robe, not the usual clothings a taxi driver would wear. He was heavily clothed in black and his lower face was covered in a mask. Which Kaiza never noticed from the beginning of the ride.
"Did he get an heart attack" Kaiza thought at first hearing the man heavy breathing but he had a second thought after he saw the nose mask the man had on "or is he an asthmatic patient"
Kaiza moved in-between the front row seat. Then he saw the man's hand pointing somewhere. He traced his hand to the dash safe. Kaiza pulled the safe open and the only thing in there was two pairs of inhalers. That confirms his question.
He picked one up and was about to turn to the man when suddenly he felt a familiar filling. He felt something piercing into his body. It was something he had felt before but it wasn't the usual spot he used to. He felt like an injection had just been inserted on his neck and after felt fluid released into his veins. Kaiza felt paralyzed and couldn't move a muscle until the syringe was pulled out of his body.
Then he raised his hand touching the spot. A little stain of liquid was on his skin as the exact area he felt the tiny little sting on his neck. It was blood.
Kaiza turned to the man who was supposed to be gasping and trying to catch a breath but rather the man was staring at him. Kaiza watched as the man removed his mask and revealed his own face. It was M. Boss.
Kaiza brows shot up in amazement. He couldn't comprehend or fathom when and how this mysterious man got here. He was sure he ordered a ride and how did he suddenly become the driver. Kaiza continued to ponder.
However his eyes began to shut close but not without a fight. He struggled to stay awake and not slip into unconsciousness at this very delicate moment. If he falls asleep that means one thing. This man would be in charge of the briefcase and whatever was in it. And as Keaton told him, this would determine the life of millions of people. He couldn't let that happen. If he doesn't try to stay awake then he wouldn't forgive himself for that.
But no matter how hard he tried, it became almost impossible for him to stay awake. And slowly his eyes finally shut close with the last picture of M. Boss smiling devilishly at him.
After, there was thick silence that concealed the atmosphere.
. . .
After like thirty minutes, Kaiza was still in a moment of unconsciousness but rather it felt like he was partly awake now. His eyes opened shortly and all he saw was a forest tree covering the sky above him and the moon light slowly piercing through the leaves. Also his body was being moved through this forest with a grip on just one of his legs. His left leg. His right leg and the other part of his body was left dragging on the misty ground of the forest.
As this happened, his eye occasionally flicked open and shut close again. While his eyes shut he fell into a sleep before it opened again. His eye opens when his head hits the ground after it is dragged over a stick or falls into a little pithole. When his eyes opened all he saw was thick darkness with the trace of the dim moonlight, casting it faint light over the forest. That was the only source of light he could see at the time.
This continued for almost ten minutes. The last thing he saw before he falls into this deep sleep again was M. Boss standing over him. He tried to stay awake but the drugs were waging war in him against his cells rendering them completely paralyzed for that moment and he fell asleep.
Next a thud was heard before his eye opened staring at M. Boss standing on a mountain. No it wasn't a mountain. M. Boss was standing on the ground level while Kaiza was ten feet under the ground staring at his enemy in fear and terror. Now he was completely awake.
As he tried to move, only to be met with a tremendous headache that kept him still for minutes. He watched M. Boss as he dug his spade into the dug up soil, lifting it and pouring it over his body below.
He was going to bury him.
The man had lifted up another sand full spade when he suddenly stopped as his phone chimed loud, it sounded reverberating in the forest at that moment. Sounds of laying birds flying away upon hearing the noise was heard.
M. Boss stuck the spade into the sand pile and walked aside. Kaiza had refined a little of his strength and was able to move his head without facing a hard headache. The headache had reduced. He slowly stood climbing with all diligence knowing the situation he was in. As his hand reached up on the ground level. He peeped to see how far away the man was and how he would escape without the man knowing. Kaiza had already picked out some weapons out of his bag to attack the man. That's if he tried to drag him back into the pit.
Kaiza climbed out and rolled slowly, laying on his back staring at the sky. He stood about to walk away. It was then M. Boss turned. He had hung up after he finished his call. He turned only to stare at the supposed to be halfway dead enemies son alive and ready to escape.
"He woke up already" M. Boss muttered to himself in both fear and amazement. He was amazed by seeing Kaiza suddenly getting his consciousness back.
The fluid injected into his body was supposed to keep him in a deep sleep and all his memories wiped off. He was supposed to be unconscious for about twenty four hours. But things didn't go as he had expected, one of the reasons that made him surprised by the sudden turn of events. It had just been forty minutes.
But who is Kaiza?
