"The land was beautiful, holding an allure that brought any who looked a sense of calm and tranquility.
By the time the followers of Prometheus reached the land between the two, the sun was soon to set.
Setting up camp underneath the shades of the nearby trees, they eagerly awaited the establishment of their own city.
The first couple of days were filled with debates and crucial decisions to be made. Although the Chief was the wisest of all the followers, he understood that no man was perfect.
Each and every single one of his people held opinions and perspectives that would form a greater and stronger whole.
They discussed topics of law, occupations, responsibilities, politics, and much more.
Through these discussions, gems in the rough shined bright showcasing their potential and capabilities.
Of the many, some were expected like the Acolyte in training Lucia having been taught by the gods directly.
Some however appeared unexpectedly, as if hiding in the mud before shining like diamonds at the first hour of dawn.
Of those in the unexpected category, one stood out far above the rest.
A man by the name of Alfie, first showed his brilliance when the topic of agriculture was brought up by the chief.
The general consensus proposed that there was a heavy need to plant and harvest as many calorie-dense crops as possible every year leaving no fertile land to be wasted on crops not seen as beneficial.
With an excess of high-calorie crops, their society would without a doubt grow rapidly. Just before the topic was to be concluded, counselor Alfie raised his hand to oppose the idea.
He argued that while there was a need for a surplus of high-calorie crops, the idea of only planting such crops would lead to disaster.
The general public, however, wasn't too eager to listen. At the time, the counselor still held an infamous reputation for speaking a god's name in vain.
If not for the intervention by the acolyte in training Lucia, it's uncertain whether or not the counselor's capabilities would have been brought to light.
Although the general public allowed themselves to listen to the counselor speak, that did not mean they agreed with his argument.
One very outspoken member of the community even called the counselor a fool.
He asked the counselor to elaborate on his claim, "Why would it lead to disaster huh? What do you know that we don't?"
The counselor took a deep breath before dropping bombshells after bombshells of knowledge onto the general public.
He talked of concepts such as 'sustainability', 'ecosystems', 'biodiversity', and even something known as the 'earth hypothesis'.
(The earth hypothesis mentioned here is not talking about the rare earth hypothesis but rather the Gaia hypothesis. It's been changed in this story to keep up consistency with the fact that speaking a Gods name without authority will evoke their wrath.)
The general public was starstruck with such knowledge.
Everything the counselor spoke of felt like inherent truths that were hiding in plain sight. It was safe to say that after showing his brilliance, the counselor's reputation had completely flipped on its head.
After bypassing his first hurdle, the counselor took part in discussion after discussion.
He proposed for the development of scholars, established rules for hygiene, storage methods for foods, domestication of animals, and much much more.
It could be said that the counselor practically built up the Civil structure of the city of Pronoe on his lonesome.
With the two other leaders of the Pronoe, the counselor is often called a forefather of the city.
The chief leads the faith, the Grand general leads the military, and the counselor leads the civil community. Together they form the Trifecta of Pronoe."
Sonia stretched her arms high towards the wooden roof of the office building. As a scribe, her job was to record things that would be proven useful for the archives of Prone.
While others were given tasks of recording stocks, day-to-day life, culture, or other miscellaneous tasks she was tasked with recording the journey of the counselor.
It was a daunting task, to say the least. Having been chosen to write down the records of the counselor of all people was an honor.
One that could only be matched by the two other scribes chosen to record the Priest and Grand general.
Taking a deep breath she exited her office and entered the one right next door. Holding a small stack of papers, she looked towards the man diligently scribing away.
His head was buried within stacks of paper, showing only his jet-black hair and the light-tanned robe that flowed onto the floor.
"I finished up the documents surrounding the planning phase of Pronoe, sir! It's an honor to be able to learn about your history." Sonia respectfully reported
Lifting his head up, the counselor's seemed to glean at the report. He extended his hand, to which Sonia nervously handed over her document.
She could only hope that he would be happy with her recounting of that time.
Minutes passed by as she watched him read line by line. In some parts, he looked confused, others amused, but through it all the counselor showed a slight smile on his face.
"It's a bit rough on some parts, but I think you've managed to encompass my story in that time, Ms.Sonia. I look forward to our cooperation. You've been promoted from a historic scribe to a present scribe." The counselor said
"I'm honored! I didn't know such a position existed before." Sonia respectfully bowed
"Ah, no. That was just a joke.." The counselor clarified.
"Ah, I apologize!!" Sonia replied hastily, worrying that she had messed up on her first day.
"Don't worry about it. It wasn't that funny." The counselor discarded it awkwardly
On the title of her document, the counselor signed and handed back her document, with a nodding look. "Go to the library and tell the head printer to make copies for the public record after leisure. Congratulations Ms.Sonia."
Taking her document back, a large smile sprouted across her face. She had done it! She had actually published something onto the public record! Something reserved for only the best of works!
"Thank you Thank you Thank you so much!" she joyfully said while exiting the room.
The counselor gave her a proud smile before she raced off to the library.
