"Come in." The King invited the person at the door in as he walked away from Lyra.
"Your Highness the room has been readied as instructed." The messenger immediately reported.
"See the Princess back to her room." the King ordered as he watched her quickly make her way out of the room.
My heart thumped in my chest same with the sound my shoes made as I ran away from his study room.
"What have I done!" I screamed out with my hands over my mouth as I ran blindly not even stopping when someone called out behind me.
I hurriedly pushed the door to my room open, slammed it shut, and stood with my back to it, my heart racing as I tried to catch my breath.
"I did those disgusting things in the books! He probably thinks I am disgusting." I was literally having a mental breakdown.
Just then, I felt my mom's presence followed by her distinct scent of fresh flowers.
"Mom!" I called out excitedly to her and hurried over to the window.
"Baby, I didn't hear from you. It's been two days, are you alright?" The Queen asked, motherly concern filling her eyes as she gathered me into her arms and enveloped me in a warm hug.
"Am fine Mom," I affirmed and melted even more into my mom's embrace.
"Are you sure baby you know you can tell me anything?" her mom pressed on as she broke the hug and examined her daughter from head to toe but her eye widened as it came to rest on the small red marking on Lyra's neck.
"What is this?" her mom questioned in shock. "Who bit you?" She inquired her thoughts racing not knowing how to feel about her baby getting marked and the marking looked a bit strange.
"Mom, I want to tell you something strange that happened." I drew out not knowing where to start.
"It's alright baby, you can tell Mom everything." Mom calmed me as she led me to sit on the bed.
Lyra told my mom everything all the while skipping some details here and there and also not specifying who marked her.
"So you didn't feel the mating pull before the marking, you have fangs and love the taste of blood." I guiltily watched my mom list out trying to connect the dots.
"I need to take you away from here now, we can't have people suspecting your identity now. I was right to come here." My mom rambled on slightly panicked as she moved to my closet to start packing my belongings.
"So who was this man you bit? A dragon? A bear clan? Vampire? A servant?" My Mom kept questioning as she packed my things neatly into her spatial ring, my eyes following her around the room.
"It was the King," I replied, my voice barely audible.
"Yes baby, if it was the king it would be the end haha, so who was it?" My Mom laughed it off and turned around as she was done packing.
"I am serious Mom ….I bit the King." I drawled out, my fingers rolling nervously in my lap.
I watched my Mom's mouth drop open and her complexion turn ashen but she was quick to recover from the shock.
"Now this is serious, I need to make you vanish completely out of his rader, and if possible get you a new identity since you wouldn't like to be shackled down." My Mom spoke softly as she walked towards me and sat facing me.
"You don't have to bother Mom." I tried to comfort my mom, as my hands came to rest on that of my mother.
"I need to! I need to Lyra. That monster is going to take you away from me…he is going to kill you or get you locked up and torture you day and night." This was the third time my mom sounded so strict to me and I was still taken aback.
"A monster? That is one way to describe your King, Queen of the Fairy clan." The deep voice of the King boomed in the room as he slowly made his presence known.
"Your Highness, it is improper to break into a maiden room unannounced." The queen stated firmly while shoving Lyra behind her protectively.
"Princess Lyra has done some unspeakable things in the palace since her arrival." The King paused his speech before walking to sit on the only armed chair in the room.
"My daughter is still young, your Highness, allow me to discipline her." The queen stated, her voice firm.
"It's applaudable how you protect her, someone who knows nothing will think you birthed her." The King stated pointedly and the Queen's face hardened at his words.
"Don't talk to my mom like that!" Lyra called out angered as she grabbed a pillow and hurled it at him wanting to wipe that smirk off his face.
The King didn't move to dodge it but the Queen quickly hurled a spell at her daughter's projectile turning it to butterflies instantly before turning around to glare at her daughter who shrank into herself seeing her Mom's stern glare.
"Where did you find Princess Lyra?" The King questioned.
"Your Highness, just let me and my daughter leave, we don't want any trouble." The Queen replied, ignoring the King's question.
"Sure, you can leave but am afraid Princess Lyra stays." The King stated firmly his eyes locked onto the Queen.
"I would not leave my daughter here with you even if it was my only option." The Queen replied matching the King's stare.
"Is that a threat? Queen of Fairy Clan?" He smirked. "You can leave but I wouldn't have you taking my mate with you." He said, his gaze trailing to Lyra who peaked at him from behind the queen.
"Mate, what mate? The queen asked cluelessly until she recalled what her daughter had told her minutes ago and her eyes dropped down to sight the other pair of mating mark on the King's neck and her fingers folded into a ball in anger as she tried to hold down the welling anger trying to spill out from her.
