After exploring the bushes, Abraham and Mary were busy looking for the whereabouts of turmeric and galangal, they immediately went deeper into the bushes.
Until finally they arrived at a place that was slightly different from the other bushes.
There was a fragrant aroma in the air, and this aroma was something that Abraham was very familiar with.
"What is this smell?" Sniffing with her nose, Mary asked Abraham
"It should be around here" Abraham replied to Mary, but did not immediately answer her question.
And quickly began to search for the source of the aroma, and soon in the corner of the place, a plant that looked like weeds appeared.
It's just that the weeds looked a little different, with a more purplish color on the stem.
Seeing this, Abraham immediately walked there, he wanted to see for sure if it was the galangal he was looking for.
And sure enough, after he approached the plant, he could smell the fragrant aroma of the galangal leaves that were similar to weeds.
Moreover, when he held the reddish stem with a mixture of purple, he became very happy.
"Found it... this is galangal Mary's" Abraham happily shouted to Mary and gave her the information.
"Oh, is this the plant you are looking for? Mary asked in surprise when she saw the plant Abraham meant.
"Yes, this is galangal, the spice plant I am looking for, this is one of the important cooking ingredients" Abraham replied with a happy expression.
"If this is what you mean, I know it's just that its name is not galangal but mosquito repellent" Mary replied again.
"Oh... the name of this galangal plant is called mosquito repellent in the tribe?" Abraham asked again in surprise.
Although he was also aware that the scent of this galangal plant was indeed very fragrant and could repel mosquitoes naturally.
"Do you know where this plant grows near the tribe?" Abraham asked again.
"There are many on the banks of the river in the western part of the tribe, there are many of these mosquito repellent plants (galangal) growing abundantly" Mary replied to Abraham telling him where she could get the galangal plant.
"Ok, if you have time you can take me there, Now let's take some of these galangal first" then Abraham said to Mary.
To tell her that they will take first, this galangal.
"Ok" answered Mary, helping Abraham.
So then with Abraham's guidance, Mary began to dig the galangal together.
Where Abraham dug the ground and immediately found the roots of the plant called galangal.
Digging it skillfully and taking enough, Abraham then dug another galangal, but this time he did not clean the galangal stem, and instead left it intact.
With the stem and galangal that still had roots, he intended to plant this galangal plant in his yard.
"Okay, that's enough, let's look for turmeric now" I think there's some around here, it should be" Abraham then told Mary about the conclusion he had.
So after harvesting enough of the galangal plants, Abraham and Mary began to continue their search for turmeric plants.
Turmeric, as one of the most useful spices, has many advantages for consumption, both for cooking and for medicinal ingredients.
From what Abraham knows, turmeric plant juice can cure stomach ulcers and maintain stomach health naturally if consumed properly and correctly.
Fortunately, there was no need to look too far, on the other side not far from where the galangal grew, a group of short plants were seen.
50 cm tall, with straight stems and wide yellowish green leaves, it looked like it was growing so well.
Seeing the plant, Abraham immediately realized that what he was looking for was right in front of him.
"We found it Mary" Abraham was happy once again rushing towards the turmeric plants.
"Oh.." Mary replied, still surprised when she heard Abraham say that he had found the plant he was looking for again.
"This is really turmeric," said Abraham in amazement when he saw the roots of the plant that were slightly sticking out of the ground.
From there, the orange colored roots were faintly visible.
And this only proved that Abraham's guess was correct.
To make sure, Abraham picked a little of the turmeric plant's roots, and immediately a bright yellow color was seen staining his hands.
Seeing this, Abraham became happy, because now it was certain that this was the turmeric plant he was looking for.
"Ehhh.. why are your hands yellow, Abraham?" Mary asked in surprise when she saw the yellow stains on Abraham's hands.
"This is a characteristic of the turmeric plant, it has a yellow color if you peel the skin on the roots." Abraham replied.
"Let's dig some and the rest will be u plant in the yard" Abraham once again asked Mary to help him harvest the turmeric plants.
Not long after, soon a bunch of turmeric that had been harvested by Abraham and Mary were successfully collected, and with that their trip could be said to be successful.
Returning to his house, on the way Abraham explained a little about several types of herbs and spices that were commonly used in the human race.
Here once again Mary's understanding could be said to be refreshing, she never expected that there would be many types of plants used by the human race just to create flavor in their cooking.
Knowing this, for some reason Mary felt that the use of cooking spices in their Tribe was very backward.
Except for the use of salt and several other plants, which could make the aroma of the food fragrant, the rest seemed nothing special.
On the way to Abraham's house, they passed an area that looked quite spacious, from what both of them could see, Abraham could vaguely see a plant that looked different.
Seeing this of course Abraham became restless and immediately rushed there.
When he saw the plant, Abraham suddenly turned and headed to a different place, Mary was surprised but immediately followed him.
Until then she saw Abraham standing right in front of some strange plants, Mary was surprised to see Abraham's happy gaze.
"Abraham, why did you stop in front of this devil's plant?" Mary said in an unhappy tone.
"Devil's plant?" Abraham asked, confused.
"Yes, this is a devil's plant" Mary answered Abraham and told him the name of the plant in front of them both.
"Can you explain why this is called a devil's plant?" Abraham asked confused and wanted to understand where the name came from.
"This is a deceptive plant, when it is not ripe the color is only green, but when it is ripe it turns into a tempting red color.
Even so, don't be fooled by its tempting appearance, you must remember because from that tempting appearance you will be deterred and tortured.
When eating it, many members of our tribe are deceived by this devil's plant.
Those who eat it will feel a hot feeling in the mouth and throat, even the bad news is that it will go deep into the stomach and make you feel pain with a tortured feeling.
Only after you drink honey water and eat a lot of food can you cure it," Mary replied explaining.
Hearing Mary's explanation, Abraham didn't know what to say, he now realized where the fear that Mary and the other tribe members had come from.
The plant in front of him right now was the cayenne pepper plant, which was a spicy chili plant.
No wonder they would have a stomach ache and be tortured if they ate the fruit of this chili plant, because this plant was very spicy if it was just eaten like that.
But for Abraham who liked spicy food, he certainly knew a good way to process the chili, especially since there was a saying in Abraham's dictionary about food.
Namely, food without a spicy taste is food that has no taste, like soup without salt.
"This is called chili, and it's delicious to eat, later I'll tell you how to eat it properly," Abraham told Mary.
"But…" When Mary was about to continue speaking, she stopped her words when she saw that Abraham had picked a lot of the devil fruits into her basket.
