I held the book and looked for my runic code first, scrolling through the pages "It seems the symbols, of crows, gems etc aren't to be solved, but the words are" i said to them two who were watching me, my eyes moving from the rune book and their faces.
"Well, that makes life easier, doesn't it?" Lucas chuckled.
"It sure does" Kiran replied, his eyes fixed on me scrolling the book.
I continued to scroll through the book until I came upon the R section. 'Rafko, Rafko' I moved my finger along the book until I found the word in bold black writing "Rafko means dead".
"How is a artifact gonna be related to death? it makes no sense" Lucas said his fingers massaging hear.
'Seems like he's been confused too much today' I thought to myself, laughing.
I then looked for the next word, scrolling through pages until I got to the Q section with a sense of anticipation, I ran my finger through the Q section and found 'Quazo'. "Quazo means end. So my runic code means dead end"
"Alright I'm fully lost, let's just move on" Lucia's sighed helplessly.
"I second on that, even to me, it makes no sense" Kiran stated taking his eyes off the rune book and lifting up his artifact.

10 minutes later…
All 3 of us now have our runic codes solved, mine is 'dead end' and…
"Braveness of soul, you know what, is someone playing a prank on us, because I'm staring to think that!" Lucas raised his hand to throw the artifact but I grabbed his arm and slapped the back of his head.
"Are you stupid?!"
He looked at me with wide eyes from the slap before lunging at me, the artifact dropping out of his hand but Kiran caught it.
Lucas sat on top of me, and began to rain blows onto my face, his fists connecting to my face "Don't ever put your hands on me again, Zerith!"
I tried to grab his wrists but his taller and stronger build held me down, making it futile, 'fuck it, we're gonna fail the test if this carry's on' his fist connected to my face again, my head bouncing off the hardwood floor, making me wince.
I pumped mana around my body, stood up and punched his face, sending him stumbling back, 'thank god, Lucas barely used mana to punch my face'
He rubbed his face as he glared at me. "You fucker!" He took a step forward, but before he could raise his hand, Kiran placed the artifact on the bed and Jumped onto his back, wrapping his arm around his neck.
"Your gonna get us expelled on the first day, i won't let you do this, you bastard!"
I saw them struggle against each other as Kiran held Lucas by his neck.
'I have an idea to calm him down'
I took his artifact and took a needle from the counter pricking his finger, making blood drop down onto his artifact.
"Say your runic code" I urged him, 'once he sees his artifact he'll calm down'
"…No I won't" Lucas wheezed out, Kiran squeezed his neck harder "ugh"
'I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die' Lucas feeling his consciousness begin to blur and began to panic internally before whispering "Braveness of soul"

Suddenly, Kiran dropped to the floor as Lucas vanished before our eyes.
We both looked at this with wide eyes, I looked at my hand and saw Lucas's artifact also disappeared.
We looked around the room confused and filled with dread.
We both looked at each other.
"Did we kill Lucas?!"
