In the middle of the night, inside a village, a woman is running in a certain direction while pulling the leash of her dogs.
Sweat falls quickly from her forehead down to her chin, her chest rising and falling as she runs at full speed.
A humanoid lands right in front of her, its red eyes staring down at her. Her body shakes as she steps backward but her back hits against something soft, therefore, she turns around and sees another humanoid gazing at her.
She screams and her vision becomes black, the last thing she hears is the cries of her dog.
Her vision comes back as she lifts her upper body, she looks around her. "Where am I?"
Her eyes widen and she crawls forward until she's standing. She slams her hands on the bars as she sees the sight of a tall muscular half-naked man carrying her two dogs by holding their nape.
"What did you do to them?!" she slammed her hands even stronger on the bars.
He looks at the dogs and smirks. "Oh, these two insects? They're so noisy that's why I knocked them out."
Veins appear on her forehead and she slams her hands on the bars repeatedly, the loud noise echoing in the chamber.
"Stop!" she yelled again as tears occurred in her eyes.
The other humanoid holds the other unconscious dog with its arm hugging its abdomen. Fang laughs while hugging the other dog, it keeps on barking and it bites Fang's wrist but he continues to laugh not feeling any pain.
"Ah! What a ferocious dog you are!" Fang looked at the woman behind the bars.
He moves his other hand on the dog's head as it keeps barking and growling. "Don't worry, your dog won't suffer... much."
He digs his fingernails on its head, snapping its head. "Finally."
Tears fall from her eyes, and her head falls while her legs fold. "Brownie... my son, I'm sorry."
Another high-pitched cry coming from the other dog causes her to look up. Her eyes are witnessing the tall muscular man slice a portion of his skin, and his blood flows down into the mouth of Brownie.
He steps toward the other dog who's lying on the ground, and its snout is open, then, he does the same: letting his blood flow down into its mouth.
"I like to thank you," Fang diverted his attention to the woman, "for helping me accomplish my plan."
"Darn you!" she arose and banged her hands against the metal bars, "You killed my dogs! You sick freak!"
"Yes! I am a freak! But I am doing this for the greater good!" Fang yelled.
Their attention shifts toward the dogs, their bodies are trembling, and their saliva flows from their snout. The saliva turns dark as their eyes open, revealing a pair of mad yellow eyes.
Their body develops into the form of a male human with their muscles shaking and expanding.
Fang walks toward the woman standing behind the bars, and she steps back while seeing him come closer.
He tells her. "Your dogs are hungry."
He chuckles gleefully, and he holds the bars, bending them. She shakes as she continues to step back until she hits the wall in the middle of the room.
Her once normal dogs which are now monsters run towards her while growling as Fang steps aside.
Screams of agony and blood splattering on the walls of the room causing Fang to smile; showing his canine teeth.
"That's right! Feast upon the humans that stole your freedom!" Fang laughed.
At a house whose walls are coated in green paint, and surrounded by a wall and a closed red gate.
Nathaniel is standing near Anna's back, and she's looking at the house plaque embedded on the wall right next to the gate.
"Anna, are you sure?" Nathaniel observed her.
She nods without looking at him over her shoulder. "I am sure that this is the right address. We have to talk to the last witness."
Anna slowly looks at him with calm eyes, she tells him. "Fang is a monster, first he was just a wolf, and he evolved into a human, a man with a muscular build.
"When I got his information by stabbing him with my weapon, I was able to know that he had the agenda of getting every dog.
"He doesn't want the stray dogs but what he wants are the dogs who are owned, those who have a strong bond with their owner."
Nathaniel looks at her with his eyebrows curved downward. "Why does he only want the pet dogs?"
Anna lowers her head. "Because he wants to free those pet dogs which he believed are being enslaved by humans."
Nathaniel nods slowly. He looks down at his right hand and clenches it. "I will get him! And put an end to his crimes."
Her emerald eyes linger on him, and she inhales deeply. Her ears perk up at the sound of the gate opening, and she looks at the person standing behind it.
A woman in her thirties, wearing a red shirt, and yoga-fitting pants is giving them a curious look.
"Oh, hello?!" she smiled.
Anna returns her smile, and she brings out an ID. "I believe that you are Ms. Jasmine. Hello! I am Anna, a journalist."
She screams while her eyes are sparkling while staring at Anna. "Oh, my! You're the famous Anna Santiago! It is such a pleasure to see you!"
After many joyful exchanges of words, Anna and Nathaniel are sitting on the sofa across from Jasmine.
Anna's emerald eyes glow and Jasmine's brown eyes turn into emerald also, glowing as both of them stare at each other.
"This will not hurt." Anna summoned a green dagger
She holds the dagger and walks toward Jasmine. She doesn't talk or react as Anna stabs her head with her dagger.
"Hey!" Nathaniel stood from his seat.
Anna inhales deeply and shoots him a quick look. "This will not hurt her unless I damage her brain or her mental state."
After gaining the memories flowing in the blade, she looks at him. "We have to go to Max, he's the last witness who survived Fang."
Together, they departed from Jasmine's house. Walking in a pathway surrounded by trees and a few utility posts.
"Is this it?" Nathaniel looked at the small house in front of him.
The house is a regular house which is built from mixed construction materials, like the other houses, this house has a large gate but is coated in red paint.
A poster is hanging on the terrace of the house, a poster about a male student who graduated with high honors.
"Hello?" Anna knocked on the gate, her eyes locked on the glass window, observing a movement that might occur.
The door opens, and Nathaniel stares at it until an old man comes out.
He is thin, bald, and wearing a baggy shirt and pants that seems to be large for his size. His eyes look like they are smiling and his lip is curved upward which fits his look.
"Ah! Hello there!" the old man spoke with a soft tone in his voice.
He steps closer to the gate and looks at the visitors who seem like good people in his eyes.
"I and my buddy here," Anna pointed at Nathaniel with her index finger, "are journalists. We're here because we heard from your long-distance friend, Jasmine that you are also a witness of the attempted murder?"
Max looks at each one of them, shooting them a curious look but after a few seconds, he speaks still in a calm tone. "You are not mistaken, I am also a witness of that disappearance. We can talk about it inside my house."
Max steps aside and Anna steps inside together with Nathaniel. Both of them are now sitting on the sofa placed in the living room, and a wooden fence caught Nathaniel's attention.
"Oh, you have many dogs." Nathaniel stared at the 10 dogs sleeping inside the large wooden fence inside the house.
"I found them on the side of the road," Max watched his dogs with a hint of sadness in his eyes, "Staring at them makes me cry. How can a human being hurt that precious angel? Abandoning them like they are nothing."
Anna sympathizes with the old man, she nods and looks straight at the dogs. She looks at Max, seeing him staring continuously at the dogs, and she clears her throat stealing Max's attention.
"We're here to protect you," Anna brought out an ID and lent it to him, "I and Nathaniel are private investigator, and don't worry, we are here to observe if there's a big chance of another attack occurring."
Later on, behind the house, Nathaniel emits a guttural cry of frustration before looking at his right side.
"Why would you tell him that we're private investigators?! What if he doubts you?"
"No, he will not. Plus, I can use my abilities to manipulate him," Anna inhales deeply. Deep inside her mind, she knows the depth of her abilities but she will never use them to manipulate someone.
"But I want him to trust us fully without influencing him through the use of my abilities," Anna added to what she had said.
Early in the morning, Anna and Nathaniel are holding each leash of the dogs, the 10 dogs are split into two groups; the five dogs are being taken care of by Anna and the other five dogs are being taken care of by Nathaniel.
"Shit!" Nathaniel panicked as the ten big dogs he was holding were dragging him as they were sprinting.
Anna giggles while watching his terrible fate, and she looks down at her 5 dogs which are walking calmly.
The 5 dogs continuously drag him not until Nathaniel's toe hits a rock, and he stumbles with his face landing on a poop.
The bearer of fire and the bearer of wind groan while watching him, feeling sorry for the situation that their master is going through.
Back at Max's house, Nathaniel is wiping the water from his hair and face using a red bath towel. He groans and looks up while sitting on the sofa in the living room.
"Here you go." Max put a glass of water on the old wooden coffee table in front of him.
Nathaniel looks at Max. "I know what you're thinking, and it's okay. I've never taken care of a dog and this experience ain't that bad."
Max laughs for a second, and he nods in agreement to Nathaniel's words. "Every dog owner has different experiences being a pet owner, I can't blame you for being mad right now."
Nathaniel smiles but he understands what Max meant. Nathaniel drinks the water from the glass, and he looks at the ten dogs playing in the corner of the living room.
Nathaniel says, "It's really hard taking care of ten dogs, right? Don't get me wrong but dogs also have needs, what if you don't have the things that can satisfy their needs?"
Max laughed softly and he looked over his ten dogs. "They have me and we have each other and that's more than enough."
Max brushes the tears from the corner of his eyes. "I can't imagine a day that I will wake up where I can't touch them anymore... until now, I fear leaving them."
At a vast field of grass, numerous herds of humanoids resembling wolves are running towards their destination, the house of Max.
"Tonight, we will capture that old man and those failures!" all of the humanoids yelled in synchronization.
